They have a wide selection of women's apparel and four dressing rooms. In the back of the shop are the higher quality items that are also separated by garment type. It has a very boutiquey feel to it and all the volunteers are super sweet. Prices were very fair/competitive to other thrift shops, but I scored a long sleeve and slacks for half off. **1 Star** This was…read moremy first visit to Santa Barbara. My sisters and I were visiting from Washington, DC, and we love thrifting, so we decided to stop by this Goodwill. We found a few things and made our purchases. As we were walking back to our car, a homeless gentleman politely approached us and asked if we could help him get a pair of sneakers. He was incredibly respectful, so we went back into the store and bought him not only shoes but also some clothing. What happened next completely overshadowed what had been a positive experience. When we checked out, the cashier (Operator #9088) carelessly tossed the gentleman's clothing into the bag as if it were trash. I politely asked if she could fold the clothes instead of just throwing them in. Her response was shocking. She took the clothing back out of the bag, threw it toward me, and said, **"You fold them then. I don't fold clothes."** Caught off guard, I simply replied, "Ma'am, you can clearly see what we're trying to do here." Her response? **"Yeah, whatever."** I have rarely encountered such unnecessary disrespect from someone working in customer service. We were trying to do something kind for another human being, and instead we were met with rudeness and complete indifference. The only reason I didn't ask for a refund was because the gentleman genuinely needed the items we had purchased for him. Otherwise, I would have walked away from the transaction. If this employee's behavior reflects Goodwill's standards, then there is a serious need for better customer service training. Every customer deserves to be treated with respect, and certainly someone receiving help should not have their belongings handled with such disregard. This experience left a lasting negative impression. Unfortunately, because of how we were treated, I will not be returning to this Goodwill, and it has made me think twice about shopping at Goodwill stores in general. Goodwill, no how about IllWill!

Ojai Ave. It's the kind of place that instantly feels welcoming--you're always greeted with a smile, and even if you don't find something that day, the browsing itself feels like a small joy. That said, I always seem to find something! I still wear a cozy sweater I picked up there last year, and on my last visit, I found a pair of earrings that I absolutely love. The prices are reasonable and the items are in great condition. Since they're a consignment shop, they do accept items for resale--you get a percentage back when your item sells. If you're thinking about bringing something in, it's best to call ahead to check their process and which days they're accepting items. One more reason to love The Lennon Closet? A percentage of their sales goes toward Traumatic Brain Injury charities, making every treasure you find there even more meaningful. It's a win-win--shopping with joy, supporting a great cause, and finding pieces that feel like they were meant just for you.

From a clothing perspective, despite the large selection I found the selection to be pretty basic, with a lot of standard items (t-shirts, sweaters, etc.). If you're looking for eclectic, kitschy stuff this is not really the place for that. But if you want basic essentials, there's a large variety of that. There are a TON of household items for every room, from cups to organizers to dish dinnerware, etc. I ended up finding a porcelain cup for camping that I've been looking for for awhile. There is also a whole room full of furniture, and a separate room full of sporting goods. Huge collection of VHS, though not sure if that's very useful for anyone anymore these days. While the items are organized in sections, due to the large amount of stuff crammed in there you definitely need to dig around a little. It feels a little less curated than other thrift shops, in that there are a lot of things in there in poor condition. Some of the stuff is dusty and not fully cleaned. What made me love this thrift shop is how CHEAP it is. Hats were 1.50, shirts were a few bucks, jackets were 5 bucks. Walking into the store I was worried that it would be more expensive than Goodwill or a large chain thrift shop, but it's one of the cheapest thrift shops I've ever been to. I didn't need too much help except to check out, but the guy working the front was welcoming and friendly. All in all, from a selection/quality standpoint of the items I would give this place 3 stars, but because of how cheap it is I give it 4. I wouldn't drive too far out of my way to go here, but if you're in the area it's definitely worth it to check out.

I've been seeing their signs for the past month or so and finally stopped in last week. Fun stuff to look through. Did not end up buying this time, but might stop here again. Online presence suggests they also offer U-Haul rentals.
