I will not be back. I walked in to look around as I have never been here. I love to shop local and I was excited to see all the local Carpinteria merchandise. I wasn't greeted. OK. Fine, I can accept that as maybe she was having a bad day? It was an older lady, blonde hair, who was working. She was *radiating annoyance and irritation and I felt awkward trying to even make small talk with her. You could tell she didn't want to be there, and by the body language she was presenting, she didn't want me there, either. I had asked a question about plus sized shirts. I had asked about the sticker prices. I knew after my 2nd question that she couldn't care less if I had any questions or even if I had asked her what time it was. I bought a few items because I felt a bit guilty about going in and just looking. I still love Carp even though this experience sucked. I wouldn't recommend spending your money in this place. Support one of the other local businesses in the area instead who really appreciate you and your money!

I was there to check out the tree. Oh that tree is glorious, over 225 feet with a truck of neatly 21 inch circumference. Anyways back to the shop. It's in a red painted building in front of Lucky Llama coffee. Heritage sells sustainable, eco friendly items in a curated country store. The merchandise range from baby clothes, toys, art, kitchenware, stationary, vegetable and flower seeds, dishes, drink ware, etc. Think modern and hip. The items are practical and beyond the mundane same old. The price points are at boutique pricing but not so outrageously priced. The items that caught my eye were art prints from Hello Coyote, and Little Salt Wagon. May I add, pieces were affordable ranging from small prints, greeting cards, to larger sizes. Little Salt Wagon is art from local Ventura County artist Amanda Cox. Simple, but beautiful watercolors inspired by the rural Ventura County surroundings.

You can book by the day or a week at a time. I booked a day since we were approaching the end of her stay here. I will say I was hesitant at first to leave my 12 year old niece for the day camp from a water safety perspective, but that perspective changed quickly as I stood and heard how thorough the camp takes safety (even sunburns!). The kids are given water safety techniques with respect to the local wildlife and ground rules are discussed at length. I quickly realized I picked the right surf camp. My only regret is that we hadn't signed up earlier and for a longer period. Ideally I would have signed my niece up for the week long surf camp. But there's always next summer I would highly recommend A-Frame surf camp!

A man who knew the lady (not sure if he also worked there) had two large dogs. My kids were very respectful and asked if they could let the dogs. He said yes, lady said one (she knew it by name) looked nervous. She was sending allll the evil vibes our way and clearly wanted us to leave. My son had skateboarded up, I commented that he should not ride it in the shop (obviously) but was excited because there was one in the doorway. The man kinda laughed and said yeah, tha would be a bad idea. The woman looked like she was going to have a kinipshin. Overall, just super unfriendly. We were clearly not the people she wanted in her shop. Not sure who she does since they had kids beach toys and other stuff prominently displayed, and advertised a kids surf camps. But I will definitly not be signing my kids up for that one.

Well gosh... I'm writing this in hopes that it may help to encourage the decision makers of this…read moreshop to make some changes. I was on a lovely shopping day and my last stop was in your store ... first off it smells terrible like old dirty gym socks in your store ... please open the door or burn a candle or a diffuser and second I am a woman with curves ... not the kind of curves I'm ashamed of the kind I've grown to like. I am on a good day a size 12 and on a bad day a 14 and I couldnt find one single pair of pants in your store that I could wear. Your target market, if I may be so bold is 45-65, which is the age range of those of us ladies who have had children and have had hormones and life. Why then would your limited stock only house clothes that would fit size 6? Nothing wrong with size 6 but can't we be inclusive and love all our sizes?? Wait before you say I can't stock every single size DONT!!! You can stock one style above a size 10. On the upside your sales woman was very pleasant and offered some assistant though it would be good if she understood basic garment measurements as your sizing does tend to vary. I say these words with kindness in my heart and to help you prosper not to hurt you.
