This was our first time here and it will not be our last. I had the barley soup as an opener and it was delicious. It was nice and thick and very satisfying for a winter night. The sausage bandari was tasty and very generous. I ended up having enough for my lunch the next day. We can't wait to come back and try other things.

Best Persian food around! This spot is hands down the best, consistently amazing and never disappoints. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor is beautiful, service is great and it's a byob![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Everything is delicious and has so much flavor but our standout dishes are... Fesenjun Stew -pomegranate and walnut flavored chicken stew Zedish Polo-rice with berries cooked in sugar and butter Chicken Kabob Filet Mignon Kabob Tadig which is a crispy rice Yogurt with cucumber Eggplant dip And don't forget the Persian icecream! They also have freshly baked bread that is made on-site daily, and you can taste the difference! Looking for takeout? This food travels very well. We've also used them for catering, and it's always a hit. This restaurant continues to set the bar for Persian food, and it's a go-to for anyone craving an authentic meal! Highly recommended! Rose is a place you must visit if you are near the Ridgewood area. The service is excellent and friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience is romantic and the restaurant is exceptionally clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food is the best Mediterranean/ Persian food in the area. The lamb shank was my favorite part of the menu.

We had been wanting to try Rose since it opened. We went today and had their amazingly priced lunch specials. My friend had to beef stew and I had the chicken wrap. Both were amazing. The hummus is the best I've had in New Jersey. So good. Not gritty. The falafel which they made for us when we asked, not on their lunch special, was outstanding. I love falafel and I will be getting these again. Not pictured because we ate it too fast was the complimentary light white cake. So amazing. I didn't even realize I had more room left, but we finished it. I am excited for them to be here. Sam was our waiter and he was sweet, attentive and informative. We did not meet the owner, Said, who is also the chef, but I hope he reads this. We had a wonderful lunch and look forward to coming back.

Hidden gem. This is a Persian restaurant and it has such a homey vibe. The food is consistently good, the servers are always nice, and this place is never crowded. The chicken is well seasoned and juicy. The rice is so light. When I leave I'm always full but not to the point I need to take a nap. If you are in the area give this place a try.

Feast! Food delicious, beautiful decor, service attentive and friendly. Tender roasted meats, gorgeous spices include fenugreek, dried mint and sumac(also served in a shaker on the table) The lamb chops were marinated well and tender. The chicken was also no knife required. Looking for something out of the norm...recommend!

Rose Persian Restaurant is a delight for the palate. Reading the menu you get the feeling of being in an exotic land far away. The names of the dishes are interesting and the mix of ingredients and spices are even more fun. I went with someone who has been to Rose many times, so they were able to guide me to their favorites. The restaurant is simply adorned with crystal chandeliers, white table cloths and purple curtains. You just know the restaurant is not owned by native Americans, but rather by a lovely couple straight from the native homeland of Iran. They have been in the United States for 21 years now. So it's authentic! They have a large parking lot in the back. Our appetizer was a blend of eggplant, onions, garlic, mint and walnuts that you too with a lemony yogurt and powdered sumac. The combination of flavors explode in your mouth, so interesting. The chicken kebab too was seasoned to perfection. We also tried the koofteh. It was a tasty combination of ground beef, rice, fresh herbs, egg, yellow spit peas, tomato paste, plums and sautéed onions. Sweet and savory! I would love to go back and try more appetizers and entrees to tickle my palate. We had so much fun in this unique restaurant and the owner was thrilled to watch us enjoy her native, home cooked food.

The service is very attentive. Right when we sat down the host gave us water which was nice. The waiter was a little too attentive, kept coming up to us to ask if we were ready to order when we were not, and just kept coming and coming every two minutes. They give complimentary flat bread which is tasty. Our Persian friend mentioned usually Persian restaurants give the bread with herbs and feta rather than just plain. We did find on the menu the herbs and feta was an extra cost. We had the kebab combo and subbed cherry rice and salad (which is cucumbers and tomatoes) and also exchanged the ground chicken kebab for a chicken breast kebab. The standout was the steak kebab and the cherry rice. There were so many cherries in the rice, and it was both sweet and savory. I couldn't stop eating it. The steak was super juicy and well seasoned. I also really like the roasted tomato on the side, basil and pickled cabbage. We ordered a stew, think it was Ghormeh sabzi. It had a bunch of herbs in it, and beans and a dried lime. Was told not to eat the lime. It was a very strong and rich stew, I took a couple of bites. Don't think I could have eaten the whole thing. It's very strong. It's our friend's favorite Persian dish and she loved it. There was one dish we wanted that they ran out of but they gave us a couple of dollars off the bill which was nice. Overall excellent food! Would come back.

One had eaten and taken out from here before and liked it, so we called, didn't need a reservation, off we went. At about 5:15, give or take, we were the first patrons there. It's a lovely large space, warmly decorated with tables and some banquettes. We chose a 4-top kind of right in the center! Comfy chairs, btw. The menu isn't strictly Greek or Lebanese or Turkish, kind of a combo of good choices from those cuisines. We started with an appetizer called Tinos Artichoke. Very interesting, served with small warm fresh wedges of pita plus a cup of deliciously seasoned pita chips. It's a dip of mashed artichokes with Greek yogurt, sun dried tomatoes, parsley, garlic, feta. S tasty! It's a great portion to share among several people. My friends each ordered the chicken soup with vegetables for appetizers. Quite a nice sized bowl for the price; I love avgolemono, if that's what it was (I didn't taste it), just didn't feel like having soup. They both liked it very much and then they were pretty full! I ordered two appetizers for my meal - Symi Shrimp and Grilled Halloumi. Excellent choices, and they worked really well together as a meal! The 2 slabs of perfectly cooked halloumi are served on a bed of romaine lettuce and some threads of carrot. The shrimp are small, very lightly breaded and deliciously seasoned; menu says garlic, lemon, but they were reddish so I suspect maybe paprika as well or cayenne + paprika (not hot but not bland), shredded feta sprinkled liberally on top. I'm a big eater, but after the appetizer I wasn't able to finish my meal; today I reheated in the toaster oven for a lunch treat! One friend had just the Symi shrimp as her meal; the soup had filled her up and she also took some home. Our other friend had the chicken shish. This came as a really well-balanced plate, with plenty of cubes of chicken, rice, and veggies. We ALL had to-go bags! Appetizer portions, just based on the appetizers we were served, are ample for sharing. Didn't stay for dessert, as I had a train to catch back into the City. When I'm out in Bergen County again, I'll think about coming back. If you live in the area, GO, It's very good and not exorbitantly priced.

Atlantis is still my favorite restaurant. Cozy atmosphere, friendly service, fresh tasty food, BYOB…read more(my favorite four letters), no credit card fee. I leave happy every time. Tino's Artichoke is a tasty start - an artichoke dip with feta and sun-dried tomatoes served with pita chips. We'll usually get the mixed grill (but subbing lamb in for the beef, way more flavor). Or, a mix of grilled octopus, grilled calamari and a salad. Everything is very flavorful and goes great with the pita bread. Our calamari was a little chewy this last visit, which surprised me. It's never like that. Octopus is always tender and comes with tasty charred onions, peppers, caperberries. Other delicious dishes here - chicken shish, the steak, gyro, grilled shrimp, lamb shish. Lately they've been decorating tables with fresh flowers - nice touch and complements the candles.
