Best Persian food around! This spot is hands down the best, consistently amazing and never disappoints. The decor is beautiful, service is great and it's a byob! Everything is delicious and has so much flavor but our standout dishes are... Fesenjun Stew -pomegranate and walnut flavored chicken stew Zedish Polo-rice with berries cooked in sugar and butter Chicken Kabob Filet Mignon Kabob Tadig which is a crispy rice Yogurt with cucumber Eggplant dip And don't forget the Persian icecream! They also have freshly baked bread that is made on-site daily, and you can taste the difference! Looking for takeout? This food travels very well. We've also used them for catering, and it's always a hit. This restaurant continues to set the bar for Persian food, and it's a go-to for anyone craving an authentic meal! Highly recommended! Rose is a place you must visit if you are near the Ridgewood area. The service is excellent and friendly. The ambience is romantic and the restaurant is exceptionally clean. The food is the best Mediterranean/ Persian food in the area. The lamb shank was my favorite part of the menu.

We had been wanting to try Rose since it opened. We went today and had their amazingly priced lunch specials. My friend had to beef stew and I had the chicken wrap. Both were amazing. The hummus is the best I've had in New Jersey. So good. Not gritty. The falafel which they made for us when we asked, not on their lunch special, was outstanding. I love falafel and I will be getting these again. Not pictured because we ate it too fast was the complimentary light white cake. So amazing. I didn't even realize I had more room left, but we finished it. I am excited for them to be here. Sam was our waiter and he was sweet, attentive and informative. We did not meet the owner, Said, who is also the chef, but I hope he reads this. We had a wonderful lunch and look forward to coming back.

Hidden gem. This is a Persian restaurant and it has such a homey vibe. The food is consistently good, the servers are always nice, and this place is never crowded. The chicken is well seasoned and juicy. The rice is so light. When I leave I'm always full but not to the point I need to take a nap. If you are in the area give this place a try.

Feast! Food delicious, beautiful decor, service attentive and friendly. Tender roasted meats, gorgeous spices include fenugreek, dried mint and sumac(also served in a shaker on the table) The lamb chops were marinated well and tender. The chicken was also no knife required. Looking for something out of the norm...recommend!

Rose Persian Restaurant is a delight for the palate. Reading the menu you get the feeling of being in an exotic land far away. The names of the dishes are interesting and the mix of ingredients and spices are even more fun. I went with someone who has been to Rose many times, so they were able to guide me to their favorites. The restaurant is simply adorned with crystal chandeliers, white table cloths and purple curtains. You just know the restaurant is not owned by native Americans, but rather by a lovely couple straight from the native homeland of Iran. They have been in the United States for 21 years now. So it's authentic! They have a large parking lot in the back. Our appetizer was a blend of eggplant, onions, garlic, mint and walnuts that you too with a lemony yogurt and powdered sumac. The combination of flavors explode in your mouth, so interesting. The chicken kebab too was seasoned to perfection. We also tried the koofteh. It was a tasty combination of ground beef, rice, fresh herbs, egg, yellow spit peas, tomato paste, plums and sautéed onions. Sweet and savory! I would love to go back and try more appetizers and entrees to tickle my palate. We had so much fun in this unique restaurant and the owner was thrilled to watch us enjoy her native, home cooked food.

The service is very attentive. Right when we sat down the host gave us water which was nice. The waiter was a little too attentive, kept coming up to us to ask if we were ready to order when we were not, and just kept coming and coming every two minutes. They give complimentary flat bread which is tasty. Our Persian friend mentioned usually Persian restaurants give the bread with herbs and feta rather than just plain. We did find on the menu the herbs and feta was an extra cost. We had the kebab combo and subbed cherry rice and salad (which is cucumbers and tomatoes) and also exchanged the ground chicken kebab for a chicken breast kebab. The standout was the steak kebab and the cherry rice. There were so many cherries in the rice, and it was both sweet and savory. I couldn't stop eating it. The steak was super juicy and well seasoned. I also really like the roasted tomato on the side, basil and pickled cabbage. We ordered a stew, think it was Ghormeh sabzi. It had a bunch of herbs in it, and beans and a dried lime. Was told not to eat the lime. It was a very strong and rich stew, I took a couple of bites. Don't think I could have eaten the whole thing. It's very strong. It's our friend's favorite Persian dish and she loved it. There was one dish we wanted that they ran out of but they gave us a couple of dollars off the bill which was nice. The kebab platter came with koobideh, barg and chicken with subbed the white rice for cherry rice which turned out to be the star of the show. Even as a Persian, I have never had that rice before.Somehow, and it quickly became delicious. And I immediately text my mom and asked her why she had never made it for me lol We also got ghormeh sabzi which as I told my friends can be hit or miss in flavor and if they would actually like a stew like this. They both actually enjoyed it, and I thought it was pretty close to my mom's recipe. The only sad thing was that we ordered tahdig but the table next to us had ordered 2 large plates and they had no more, which was odd given it was only 1pm and the restaurant opens at 11am. Overall good experience, love that they played Persian music to give it a real deal feel. Will be back!

The falafel had a great crisp on the outside while staying soft inside. You can really tell they put care into each dish. What made the night extra special was the birthday surprise: the sweetest baklava presentation that felt so warm and personal. It was such a thoughtful touch. My friend and I found this spot nearby in North Jersey, and we had to give it a try. We stoped in on a Friday evening to a fairly busy restaurant. The owner acknowledged and greeted us immediately. The dining style is pretty casual where customers can sit at any open table. We were very glad to find Tahdig on the menu, since my friend had been wanting to try it for a while. The owner took our appetizer and entree orders promptly after bringing over some fresh bread. He was the only employee waiting all of the tables, and he did managed to provide excellent service. Our Tahdig came out first, topped with our choice of Gheimeh (beef and split pea stewed in tomato sauce). This my first time trying stew on top of Tahdig, and I was surprised at how well it complemented the dish. The crispy rice was cooked to perfection as well; the Tahdig far exceeded our expectations. The entrees came out shortly after the appetizer. My friend and I both ordered the Kabob Soltani, which comes with one skewer of Beef Kabob and one of Koobideh. Every component of the meal was perfect. The meat was flavorful and cooked to perfection. The Saffron Basmati came very close to what I've had on the West Coast. Even the salad veggies were perfectly fresh and crispy. We had an exceptional dining experience with excellent food quality and great service. The food - delicious, packed with flavor. My kids were baffled how proteins they're used to eating (beef, chicken) could taste so differently thanks to unique spices and whatnot. The meal came to about $20 per person (no drinks, just the entrée) and while the 'Kabob Koobideh' was a generous portion, the falafel sandwich (for $15) is wildly overpriced (it's about $10 from Greek Town right across the street, never mind about $8 from Mamoun's just about two minutes away over on Rt. 17N). Happy to have tried it, would come back (while grumbling about the cost under my breath because I'm a crabby old man).

The atmosphere is cozy, elegant, and inviting -- exactly the kind of place where you instantly feel at home, whether you're there for a quiet dinner or celebrating with friends. The quality of the food was outstanding across the board. I ordered the Sultani Kebab, which was perfectly grilled, beautifully seasoned, and incredibly tender -- every bite melted in my mouth. My friend had the Lamb Shank, and it was equally phenomenal: slow-cooked to perfection, falling off the bone, and bursting with rich, authentic Persian flavors. The saffron rice was fluffy and fragrant, the bread was fresh and warm, and even the appetizers and salads showed real care and attention to detail. We literally cleaned our plates -- not a grain of rice left behind! What truly elevated the experience, though, was the service. Musa, the manager, is in a league of his own. Despite the restaurant being absolutely packed on the night we visited, he handled everything with grace, professionalism, and a genuine smile. He made sure we were seated quickly, checked in on us throughout the meal, and made every single guest feel like a VIP. Musa and his team are a powerhouse -- incredibly strong, well-coordinated, attentive, and passionate about what they do. You can tell they take real pride in their work, and that energy radiates throughout the entire restaurant. The prices were very reasonable, especially considering the generous portions, the premium quality of the ingredients, and the top-tier service. It's rare to find a place that nails all three -- food, ambiance, and hospitality -- but Ravagh absolutely does. My friends and I left feeling completely satisfied, well-fed, and already planning our next visit. If you're looking for authentic Persian cuisine in a warm, welcoming setting with a team that truly cares, Ravagh is the place. A huge thank you to Musa and the entire staff for making our evening so memorable. We'll definitely be back -- and we'll be bringing more friends with us!

Delicious from start to finish!…read more A colleague recommended Ravagh for a team dinner in the Chelsea location and I am so grateful we came here. To drink, I ordered the Tehrani Mule; a take on the moscow with a house made ginger lime juice. 8/10; a tad watery. We decided to go family style with ordering and chose the mediterranean salad, kotlet, and falafel to start. The falafel was perfectly crisp with a slightly smoky outer crust that added really great texture and flavor. A bit dry tho -- Needed the hummus and Mezze Platter to dress it up a little. Salad was refreshing, crispy and a great palette cleanser across the table. The combo platter + mixed rice was fabulous. Chicken was tender and came right off the bone (something I'm new to but it was good!). It came with a side of tzatziki and persian zhoug (?) - a minty and herby chutney that just added another layer to the aromatics of the dish. Although the rice was great, it was a really large portion even for the group of 5. It would've been nice to have the option to split to a half portion of vegetables or different grain to balance quantity. Overall 8.9/10 - Definitely worth a visit with a group for business dinner or catching up on a friend's night out. The service is great, everyone is super attentive and you can really feel that the food with made with love. So glad I tried this place and I'll be back to give their dolmeh and dessert a taste!
