I have been here three times, twice for pedicures and once for a manicure. While the technicians are nice, they do rather sloppy work.

we ( my daughter, grandson and myself) came for manicures for them and a pedi for me .... called for same day appointment ... NO PROBLEM .... got here as scheduled ... no waiting... first time for grandson who was reluctant because he thought they would put polish on ..., very nice place ( "no frills" set up ) they were clean , efficient ... people are pleasant and we were very pleased with results A male technician did the manicure for grandson so I think that made it OK for him overall ... good experience read more

Love Love Love this place. As a yoga instructor, I am barefoot often and the mat usually wears off polish quickly so I'm really picky about my pedicures. I've had a few pedicures at Rose Nails (at $25!!) and the pedicures have looked great for a month until they basically just grew out. I highly recommend giving them a try. I've been in when they're busy with a short wait and think calling even 15 minutes beforehand is helpful to get in right away. read more

Just walked out of the store and even though Jennifer painted my nails much better than I could have, I still feel as if she could have painted them better. Some of the sides are unpainted and there is a noticeable bubble under one of my nails. My pedicure was done first and she reshape my nails to a pretty rounded square and the paint job was beautiful. What I am docking off stars for is the fact that she was on the phone for a goo quarter of my manicure and pedicure. It's bad enough that the workers trash talk you in Chinese or Vietnamese in the first place, but to talk on your phone?! Come on.. I witnessed two ladies sneeze into their hands and then go about their work right after... Very unsanitary. The used cotton balls were stored in big jugs which you know we're not emptied everyday... Even more disgusting. My pedicure water was already inside of the bowl when I arrived so that was the first sign that this place wasnt the most sanitary.. Even though Jennifer did a good job at shaping my nails, I will not be back due to the unsanitary conditions. read more

Vic gives the best manicures and pedicures on the Monterey Peninsula. I've been going to him for almost 10 years. I have very small nail beds and cuticles and he takes him time to make your nails look perfect. He also gives the best foot rubs ever. I am very picky about who does my nails and when he was recommended i haven't been to anyone else. He also has a great sense of humor. The owners are very pleasant sweet people too. I've gotten my nails done here 3 times. The third time was my last. I had a manicure and pedicure this time. First, I asked for something very specific on my toes, green jewels ended up being blue (after I pointed to the green one 3 times). I had it fixed (a fix she complained about like it was my fault). That was fine, it was fixed, didn't really care because that's often how business is done in nail salons...."fix it, but complain about it knowing the customer won't understand what you're saying." But what happened next was the part that made me realize that I will never, EVER return here: I had a prior engagement that I had to make, but because she messed up my nails, I had to hurry out the door. So, she fixed the problem of the jewels being the wrong color on my toes...I sat under the little drying lamps for about 5 minutes. I tested my nails to make sure they were dry enough, curled my toes under and slipped my shoes on...this was not my first pedicure and I was really really in a hurry at this point...well, I slipped on my shoes (remember, I tested my toes....) and the woman who did my nails started screaming at me in front of all of the other customers. It was extremely embarrassing. What was even more embarrassing was the guy who sits at the first table on the right looking at me saying, condescendingly, "honey, they are not dry yet." I had to repeat that I had somewhere to be at least 5 times, handed the lady my card to pay (which she threw on the counter after swiping it) and walked out. I will never go back there again. Unacceptable behavior. Oh, I think I should add that 3 of my green jewels fell off about 2 days later (after I checked them when I got home...I did zero damage to my "not dry enough" toes).. read more

Good for walk in appointments and the ladies have a sense of humor. There is a lot of smiling and will want to talk to you. I felt really comfortable and will be going in two weeks. Jackie at Rose Nails always does a great and thorough job. What I love about her is that I can go in and say that I don't have a lot of time and I need to be in and out in 30 minutes and she doesn't skimp on the care or service. She just gets me done quicker. She's awesome. I highly recommend her for eyebrow waxing too. I don't get my eyebrows waxed anymore but if you ever need someone who is a practiced eye, she's your lady. read more

I have been going to Rose Nails for several years. It is a very welcoming, friendly place to have excellent manicures, pedicures and other cosmetic procedures. Tony does a wonderful job with my manicures and Julie does a great, meticulous job with my pedicures. She has even managed to make my nails healthier, eliminating some ingrown toenails that had been painful for a long time. I recently walked in Rose Nails for a pedicure near closing and JACKIE took me and was great! I highly recommend her! During my pedi I mentioned I'd like a manicure but I could come back since they were soon closing. That's when MAI and MONICA came to my rescue!!! This place is the absolute worst of the worst. My wife and I went to Rose Nails for manicures and pedicures. We were told that the wait would be 30 minutes. After waiting for an hour, they began serving my wife. After an hour and a half, I still had not been served, and there was no guess as to how much longer it would be. So, I cancelled. The staff did not apologize for the absurd wait and appeared not to care in the least. To make matters worse, my wife's manicure and pedicure were horrible. Her nails were left uneven, jagged, and rough. So, if you enjoy terrible service and attitude, go to Rose Nails. I was very disappointed with my spa pedicure. I agree --- the massage was quite good, but the actual application of the nail polish was shocking. It was very uneven, had finger print smudges....Not the beautiful, glossy look I am used to. They also did not put any kind of clear coat either underneath or on top -- just did two very fast coats of the color. Apart from the message, I could have done better at home. I've been going to Rose Nails for about 7 years. This salon is extremely friendly, we'll priced, and does an excellent job. The owners, Julie and Tony, are great people and all the workers know their clients by name. It's such a warm personal greeting when you walk in for an appointment or even when as a walk in customer visiting from out of town. All employees do great work, but Mai is exceptional. I'm NEVER disappointed when I'm finished. Not only are my nails beautiful, but we have great friendly conversation the whole time. Went in there for a wax for my face and was helped by Jacky. She did a great job. The wax wasn't hot at all and for a full face wax (including neck and tweezing the tiny hairs), it was only 40$. I didn't have to make an appointment because I got there before 5 and she was very nice and helpful. She put baby powder on my face before and after and I was only pinkish for about 15 minutes. read more

I've gone here a few times. I live in the neighborhood, it's close by. I've gotten pedicures from them. Fine. My biggest compliant is the waxing.The woman flat out lied to me. After waxing one of my eyebrows, she gasped. I asked her what's wrong and she said "nothing." I asked her again, maybe four times and she said nothing. After waxing my other eyebrow and my upper lip, she cakes on vaseline on my eyebrows and upper lip and tells me to keep it on. I didn't see anything wrong with it even though it was a slight sting, I paid and left. The next day, I looked in the mirror and see a scab under my eyebrow and upper lip. She burned me! And didn't tell me! That's why she put on all that vaseline afterward .Trying to hide it. Just be honest. That's all I asked. I got a refund, but I will never go back. Also, I told the other military wives in Pacific Grove not to go there. read more

Decent pedicure. She was a little rough and I couldn't understand her. It's cheap for a regular pedi. $25. If you want gel it's an extra $20! Wow! I had an acrylic fill done and it was terrible! But, it was only $15 so what do you expect? I went home and re-did them myself. I will probably go back for a pedi, because its super close to my house. read more
