I had had been looking for a nearby place to have a nice relaxing facial and I booked with Katie. I was greeted and acknowledged at the salon, and Katie came for me shortly thereafter. She was kind, thoughtful and calming throughout, never rushed or rough. The facial was bliss - heated table, nice & warm. My treatment included arm & hand massage and a bit of neck & shoulder too. Super cute, clean, simple salon. The staff are welcoming and caring. They use aveda products as well as some others. The team members I have met 3 already- are super pleasant and talented and are good at what they do. Living in Monterey, I understand costs are high- but this place posts their prices on their website- they Do offer a military discount for those that qualify- you know what you are paying for and its very reasonable and absolutely comparable in quality and price toevery other salons that I was a loyal patron of in Texas, Northern Virginia, Alabama, and Germany. I typically have coloring and highlights done with cut and style. After my first visit, I have now been there 4 times- I would say I am a loyal patron of Positive parlor while we are living in Monterey -and continue to recommend friends, colleagues, and new arrivals to this location for a fabulous hair experience. read more

Krystyne is a true professional, taking the time to listen to everything I wanted and didn't want in a new hairstyle. She is a delight to talk with and gave me exactly the haircut I had wanted. The Positive Parlor is a very cute, retro and unique beauty parlor that is not like many others that I've seen before. They have a wide variety of different services as well a cute selection of clothing and accessories. Definitely a one stop shop! My husband and I went in for facials this past weekend and the experience could not have been better! This was by far the best facial I have ever had. Katie is great! She made sure to use products that would best suit our skin type, she explained what each product was for as she applied them (without us even asking, love that!), and she overall just made our experience great by making us feel so comfortable and relaxed. My husband loved the experience as well, he was so relaxed that he ended up falling asleep haha. We left the parlor with our skin glowing! Went here for a facial a few weeks ago and I loved the way I looked and felt after so I decided to go back again. I scheduled with Mckenna and the vibes and facials were amazing. She was very gentle and made sure I was comfortable. Towards the end of the facial she gives a shoulder massage and thats one of my favorite parts of the whole thing. I got the 90 minute facial and it was heavenly, but why I'm writing this is because of the results. I've never had a facial where I saw such a dramatic change the day after. My skin texture and glow was so different and I can't say how much I would recommend trying this place. The woman who does the facials (Katy? Sorry forgot at the moment) is awesome. So attentive, so knowledgeable, and you can feel she knows what she's doing.
