LOVE THIS PLACE. Seriously never going anywhere else. So clean, all the tools come out of a sanitized bag, including the foot scrubbie and the nail separater for when they paint your nails. They do a great job and staff is sooo nice :) I will drive from anywhere in the triangle to get my nails done here read more

Worst nails I've ever seen, my gf has gotten her nails done so many times and non of her sets have came out like this. Not to mention she rushed thru the whole thing and was rude. read more

Rose Nails - So uneven and horribly painted, ugly set of nails. - Nail Salons Near Me - Chapel Hill, North Carolina

This establishment does great work, the staff is nice and the environment is relaxing. However, my nail tech was a bit dishonest when it came time for me to pay. Mind you, I asked her 3 times how much for what I was having done and she said $35 each time. I asked her before, during and at checkout. I was given my receipt that clearly stated $35. However, when I got home I noticed that she actually charged me $42. Now I'm all for tipping for great service but you as the merchant DO NOT make that decision for me. She was very dishonest and I will be returning today to correct and speak with her in a civilized manner. read more

I'm a hardcore manicure/pedicure type person, and have gone to Rose many times, and have spent a lot of money there. My main complaint is how slow their service is. They always tell you to pick out a color, but are shady when it comes to telling you exactly how long it will take. It usually takes me 3-4 hours EVERY TIME I COME IN. Much longer than any other place I've been. For that reason, I shall go elsewhere. read more

Excellent service by experienced people. Whether it is a pedicure or acrylic nail attention - fill or new set- the work is completed in a pleasant and professional atmosphere. Tina has been looking after me for many years and has always sent me away with a smile. read more

Great place to get nails and toes done in Chapel Hill. Near Starbucks. Open 7 days a week. Ask for Nu. She is great Waxing services very good. Professional and fast. Remember to give tip in cars to your technician. Charge the rest. read more

Pros: The pedicure was good, staff was quiet but friendly, and there was no wait time. Cons (and why I only gave one star): The pedicure was sort of expensive, for what I got, but my main concern is that when I got a bikini wax, the woman did not use more than one stick to apply the hot wax. Who knows what kinds of bacteria and viruses are now living in the wax and being applied to very sensitive areas! No double-dipping is like rule number one of waxing and it was totally ignored, so I really really hope that I don't have like HPV or some other blood borne disease. Not going there again. I'd say only go if you're getting your nails done and don't mind a little extra expense, but if their waxing hygiene is that bad, I imagine that their nail tools are not cleaned well either. read more

The customer service is extremely poor at Rose Nails. The two managers at this place are rough with cutting nails and even filing the nails. I've not only experienced this myself, but witnessed other clients complaining that the technicians hurt them often, and the technician laughs. Every time I go into this establishment, they have three televisions running CNN the whole time every time. Not my idea of a relaxed atmosphere. Never again. read more

Every single time I get my nails done here, I'm left unsatisfied. They're okay at paining nails, but their service is so slow that it feels like they forgot about you. Both my mother and I have gotten acrylics here and they were so bad that we had to go get them fixed somewhere else (I'll insert a pic of mine). If I could, I'd give them zero stars. read more

Rose Nails - Nail Salons Near Me - Chapel Hill, North Carolina

See all

Probably the worst pedicure I've every gotten.... the only reason for one star is the cheap prices... you get what you pay for here

Rose Nails has a new owner. I've been going to Rose Nails for eight years, and Tina has been doing my manicures, pedicures, waxing. I like the atmosphere, the staff is friendly, and the salon has an "A" rating from the dept. of health. I would recommend this place to my family and friends. Mary G. read more

Seriously not worth your money!! I went in for a pedicure and was finished within about 15 mins. The gentleman rushed through barely even trimming or buffing, certainly no attention to cuticles, and no scraping of the dead/dry skin on the bottom of my feet. He also rushed through painting my toes and consequently they look like a child did them. He was very focused on the front door the entire time he was supposed to be giving me a pedi. They have 10 or so chairs for pedi's and I was the only one there. Now I know why. I will say this was probably the worst pedicure I have ever received. read more

Sad to say, but I agree with everyone else's reviews. I went in on Good Friday for a mani pedi. They were super busy, but I didn't wait long. However, the flip side of that was that the guy rushed. He cut my toe nails pretty short, and did a lousy paint job on them, as they are already chipping, 4 days later. Then I got a shellac manicure. I had shorter nails at the time, and after we were done, they guy basically said it was my fault they looked bad. Granted, I didn't give him the best canvas to work on, but he didn't even clean up the red polish on my fingertips or cuticles before curing them. Every single one peeled by Monday. I have never had a manicure last such a short time. I usually go to Malibu, and they do am amazing job compared to these guys, and are cheaper. But, at least I learned my lesson and will be loyal to Malibu forever more. read more

I am a loyal customer of Rose Nails. The salon is nice and clean and the service is A++ as always. Cleanliness is a MUST and Rose Nails exceed my expectation. read more

This is my go-to nail place. I have been here many times and they always do a great job. They are usually crowded but very efficient. I suspect most of their satisfied customers don't bother to post on Yelp. read more

I went in for a gel fill in. She gave me acrylic instead so I ended up with 2 colors on my nails and the stuff was so thick it looked awful. I went in with pretty mid length natural looking nails and came out with extremely short, milky white ugly nails. I went to another salon the next day to have it fixed as they couldn't care less that I didn't like the result. read more

This is not a salon to go to if you want to relax. A few of the nail technicians are way too chatty and quite loud. Plus they all holler for each other across the salon and they don't mind if customers talk on their cell phones. I had the worst manicure of my life there, but my Mom purchased a gift certificate there for me for a pedicure. I went back to use it and the pedicure literally only lasted 12 minutes. The toe nails look good from a distance, but up close you can see where the cuticle wasn't removed. They also don't have many quality polish brands to choose from. Some OPI, but mostly off-brands that are thick and old. The only thing I would go back for is a leg and hand massage from the older, tall gentleman working there. He does great massages. Too bad really as the location of this salon is great. We could really use good nail salons like in NYC--expert service with a reasonable price. read more

They work fast and are moderately priced so they were good enough. Not the best quality manicure and pedicure I have gotten but it was fine. I did, however, see them pouring paint thinner into their polishes right in front of me in an effort to make their colors last longer. read more

This place in unprofessional. I have been there three times and two out of the three times have had a terrible experience. They layout of the manicure stations is very strange, you can't sit next to your friends because of the way they are positioned. I don't think they are sanitary. The staff smells of cigarette smoke, answers personal calls during manicures and pedicures, walks around eating and lounges in empty pedicure chairs. One of the time the woman made my toe bleed. The second the color stayed on for only a couple days before chipping and the third time I had the slowest guy every. He stopping to stare at the tv did not speak a word to me and fumbled around with the tools as if he was high. I told him I was in a hurry and 40 min should be more than enough time to give a basic manicure but I had to leave with my nails still wet. Deff the worst place I have been in Chapel Hill. read more

I'm shocked by all these bad reviews. Just had my first pedicure there and it was easily the best I've had in Chapel Hill -- better by far than Aveda, Mina, and any of those little nail spots around Timberlyne. Took about half an hour, got off all the calluses, excellent leg/foot massage too. I seem to have gotten the owner as my technician... maybe that makes the difference. We're talking about the place next to Twisted Noodle, right? read more

I went here a couple weeks ago and got a gel manicure, pedicure, and eyebrow wax. The in-house experience was one of the best I've ever had because the people are awesome! Very funny and personable. The massage chair was nice. The reason for the three stars is because my gel manicure peeled off after about a week (they usually last three weeks for me). They're kind of expensive, so regardless of the great people, I won't be going back. read more

Worst experience ever. I made an appointment for SNS and showed up only to be told to wait in a chair for 15 minutes before they brought the acetone for me to start to soak my current nails off. After 25 minutes in the solution with no one checking in on me, I took my own nails out and waited another 40 minutes before I finally had had enough and asked that someone come over now to start on my service. I proceeded to have the women do a rushed job on my nails and the experience just kept getting worse and worse. First the filing - all I have to say about this is every single nail is a different shape and length. Second, the color - it was much different than what it looked like on the sample (I get it - this happens) so I asked if we could add something more opaque under it to make it less see through. She said no it would ruin it. So I asked if we could just do some more coats then to make it less sheer. She again said it would ruin it but then proceeded to do just that anyway... After 2.5 hours I left having paid full price for a service I hated. Will absolutely not be returning. read more

I did not like this place. It looks dirty. They took me to a chair that clearly had ring stains from cups that were there before I was. They do not use plastic lines in the pedicure bowl. The manicurist seemed inexperienced. She was poking me with a sharp tool until I told her to stop because that was hurting me! Then she put a scrub on my legs while they were still dry. That was super uncomfortable. The skin should be wet before applying a scrub. I only went there because I got a coupon but I probably won't be back. There was also a woman next to me eating a smelly salad. read more

I love this place! There is a pretty big disparity between the manicurists, so make sure you know who is doing your nails. I always ask for Nu or Tony. read more

A friend and I had manicures and pedicures this morning at Rose Nails. I've often gone here and never had a bad experience. We just go for the basics: no gel or acrylic nails. I like it because it's smaller, comfortable, friendly. The foot, leg, and hand massages are thoughtfully performed. Staff is responsive to whatever you ask for; for example, I don't like polish on my fingernails, just cut down, shape, and buff. No pressure to opt for anything else. My tech today was Helen. I enjoyed conversation with her, and will ask for her again next time I go. Altho I usually just 'walk-in' when I'm ready, and accept whoever is available - and again, never a bad experience. read more

I paid for a Gel manicure which I have gotten several times at other salons and it lasts at least a month with NO CHIPS. Normally the only reason I have to get them redone is because they have grown out. I went to Rose Nail because I was given a gift certificate but I will not go there again. I paid extra (from the gift certificate) to get a Gel manicure on Thursday and on Saturday the tips were chipped! Then by Monday the polish around my cuticles started peeling off!!! I have never had this happen before with gel polish!!! read more

Clean, accommodating, nice job buffing my callouses and fixing my cuticles, great job with polish--my polish is still on and unchipped even though my nails have grown and the whites are showing, lol. read more

This locally owned shop in Eastowne suffered major loss of business and destruction of the interior as a result of the recent hurricane. Thankfully they are back in business with a fully renovated nail salon. I have been getting pedicures and gel manicures for the six months I have lived here since moving from another location. The staff are friendly and hardworking. They all have excellent nail skills. Most recently I have had my nails done by Mimi. My pedicures and gel manicures have lasted longer because of the special care Mimi offers when doing nails. Most clients walk in but I like to make appointments with specific people, like Mimi. I hope the community supports this business so it can keep offering us great service. read more

I will never ever go back to this business. Their nail polish looks like they buy the bottles from a sale bin in a discount store. Awful colors that look old and dried out. The manicurist wouldn't stop talking to me and attempted to push my cuticles back while using a sharp instrument and not looking at my fingers half the time. I had to fix the shape of my nails myself because they were so uneven, and the nail polish is now heavy and gloppy around my cuticles. If you purely are looking for a cheap manicure and don't care about comfort, products or end result this is your place. read more

This place is dirty, the staff was rude-kept me sitting in a pedicure chair with a massage chair that didn't work with cold after and next to this kid whose mom had her watching YouTube videos on full volume like they were unaware of the existence of headphones. Shame this place is trash because it's convenient. read more

Bad nail job on my gel nails. One day after they were done they peeled off. I went back and they redid but it was a long wait. I spent 3 hours there which was very unpleasant to say the least. read more

WORST. EVER! First of all they lied in their ad that their fill ins were $16 when they are actually $18. $18 isn't bad but they shouldn't have advertised a lie. Next, the woman who did my nails cut my real nail under the acrylic, and after repeatedly telling her to stop because she was hurting me and making me bleed, she still wouldn't stop. Next she looked down and then ripped one of my fake nails off then said "2 more dollars because it was broken" when it was just as good as the others. Clearly a trick to get more money. The paint job was awful. Left air bubbles and an uneven coat. Don't waist your time or money please read more

I've been a customer here for a while but I won't be going back. The last several times I've found the service bad and the work quite sloppy. I also feel rushed every time I go -- as though the tech is fitting me in while she works on others, or rushing to move on to the next person. My last (and final) visit was to get my gel polish removed. The tech squeezed me in, worked on me sporadically and quickly while she jumped up to attend to others, and nagged me constantly to get a manicure/repolish, which I didn't want. I had made this clear immediately but she continued to try and persuade me. She left my nails with bits of polish and glue still on them, which didn't fully go away until the nails grew out. Then she charged me double what I'd been previously charged for a removal. Not impressed. Looking for a new salon. read more

They quoted me a price on the phone, then charged to a higher price once the service was completed. My nails had chips, bubbles, and some of the old polish was left around the edges. I've tried coming here three times, always with disappointing results - I'm sorry to say I cannot recommend. read more

I really like this place, and I've never had a bad experience. Some of the techs are more thorough than others, but you can always find someone you like and specifically make an appointment with that person. I think it's the most reasonable and most consistent place I've been in Chapel Hill. I also really appreciate how friendly everyone is, even the other clients! read more

I was hesitant about going to this salon because of the multiple bad reviews and went only because of the convenient location. However, I was extremely pleased with the service and quality I received. I had a manicure, pedicure, and eyebrow waxing. The pedicure was literally the best I'd ever had (the owner performed by mani/pedi). The manicure was great as well. My nails look great: no marks, bubbles, or any of the other things people have suggested. My waxing experience was a pleasing one as well. I am always nervous about going to new waxers, but the lady who did my eyebrows was quick and accurate. The job she did also ranks in my best experiences of ever having that service done. I will ABSOLUTELY go back to this location; if they've had issues in the past, they've worked really hard to fix them. The price is very affordable for the services I received. read more

I stopped into Rose Nails the night before Valentines Day around 7pm. I honestly thought that they would be busy, but there wasn't anyone else in the salon. I didn't realize that they closed at 7:30 or I would have left, but they took me as a client. Big mistake. I was getting a refill of my acrylic nails, and one of my nails was almost completely off. The guy who did my nails rushed through the process, and after he had filed down my old nails, he took out the acrylic and was about to start. I stopped him and reminded him that the acrylic on one of my nails was about to come off. He took out his nail clippers and said "you want me to clip them?" and then he lifted the acrylic and it completely came off. I've gotten my nails done plenty of times, and it's standard practice for them to clip at the edges of the acrylic to make sure that there's a good seal on the nail before putting fresh acrylic on. I can't believe that he was just going to put fresh acrylic on my nails without even checking. He completely rushed through my refill and I think he overcharged me. Usually refills are only $15, but he charged me $20. I'm just glad that they only took cash tips and I couldn't put anything on my credit card, because I really would have kicked myself if I'd tipped him. It's now less than a week later, and the acrylic is already separating from my nails. I've gone to magic nails in the north gate mall and gotten better work. I will never go back to rose nails. read more

I took my mom to get a mani/pedi today at Rose's nails. I have to say the people who work there are nice. However, the service was terrible. It was the worst mani/pedi i have ever gotten. The polish on my nails was to thick, and i had paint all over my fingers. The pedi was the same way. The women was nice enough to fix my nails but it really wasn't much better. My mom had a different women, but her nails did not come out good either. I will never go back. read more

Horrible! Do NOT go here ever under any circumstances. I got gel nails and they were all globby, with bumps all over them. Just awful. It was like the person had NEVER done this before! Then I had a pedi and the person gave the massage with the SUGAR RUB and it HURT LIKE HELL!!! My legs are all red and scratched! I have no idea how these people stay in business. I will NEVER EVER go here again. DO NOT GO HERE!!!! read more

I did not enjoy this pedicure at all. Super short massage. Didn't focus on my callouses or trimming/filing my toenails. When the technician painted my toenails, he didn't remove any of the excess polish that got on almost all of my toes (outside of the nail). I literally could have done a much better job and it would have been free. Never paying $26 for such a bad pedicure AGAIN! read more
