Being pregnant, I was already a bit uncomfortable, and she made sure I was completely taken care of the entire time. I've been going to Rose Nails for 14 years and just had a bad experience that makes me not want to ever go back there again. I understand that got hit by Chantel, but their prices have increased so much that it's not worth it. I went today for a basic pedicure. I had to ask for hot water. there was no attention or treatment of rough spots on my feet. Perhaps that's not included in a basic pedicure anymore. I tried desperately to relax and listen to my book, but the person kept interrupting me. Overall the experience was 1000 times worse than it ever was. I don't see myself going back here which saddens me. read more

This is my first time doing a review for a nail salon/manicurist and I've been getting my nails done pretty much my whole life! I really should've asked for her name because she was amazing but I think the whole shop deserves credit. My cousin, niece, and I had a 430 appointment (I think they're closing at 6 these days?) for mani/pedis and we got there about ten minutes late. They started us right away and their stations are spaced out every other chair for social distancing. They have plexiglass between you and theyre gloved/washing hands often. The employee assigned to me started my pedicure which was plain polish French. She honestly gave me the best foot/leg massage I can remember getting from a pedicure. I don't know how to explain it other than by saying it felt like she cared if I was enjoying the massage versus just trying to go through the motions of a massage? And thats just from her physical massage - she didn't say a word (until she placed the hot towel on my legs and she noticed I inhaled a little because it was hot and she immediately asked if it was too hot). So a regular comes in during my pedicure and asks if they have time to fit her in bc she needs a fill in or something. When my pedicure was done, a different employee began doing my hands while my initial manicurist went to help the walk-in. I was satisfied with the job he did on my nails especially cause he asked me to make sure I liked the shape and when I asked for more of a curve he was able to make the tips curvier. (Note: I NEVER get my nails done when they're this short because it feels like a waste but I made an exception this time and they did a wonderful job with the French tips on my short a** nails) What you see in the pictures is the final product after the first manicurist came by to check his work on my hands and she went over his work to make the thickness match the way she did my toes. I was truly satisfied with his but I do like it a bit thicker and she did it so fast it wasn't a hassle to stay extra long or anything. I just really appreciated her care for my satisfaction cause I already don't like correcting anything they do if I'm mildly unsatisfied but I left so happy with my nails and the quality of service and care. read more

Way overcharged for acrylic fill-ins. They didn't give me a slip showing charges until after they ran my credit card. Mediocre job as well. Updating to add that new salon had to remove an acrylic nail due to a fungal infection likely pick up at this salon. I'm glad I switched as I'm not confident that this salon would have caught the infection. read more

Had hoped to like this salon... convenient location ( Trader Joe's and Pilates) and open on Sundays - a big plus. My taste in nails is quite basic: the occasional black gel mani when work calls for a more polished look, poppy red pedis to elevate the tone of Birkenstock sandals in summer. Surely this place would deliver that, in a clean, pleasant manner? Nope. First time, owner was unpleasant. Barked rather than talked. Tech tried over and over to change my mind about what I wanted, so tedious. Quality of work low average, price on the high side. Second time, owner tried too hard to be pleasant, and to add services of course. Techs looked exhausted and sad. Pedi was perfunctory. I started coming here about a year ago and have had good experiences when they are not busy. Today I went in at 12:45 pm and didn't get done until 3:45 pm . When I walked in they were not busy and I informed them that I wanted a dip manicure and gel pedicure. They had about five different people throughout those three hours work on my nails. It was clear that certain individual took priority even though they did not have appointments. I spent 105 dollars there and tipped 20 dollars , but since this has been the third time I have experienced this treatment, I have decided that I will no longer be going to this establishment . This was hands down the worst manicure I have received in my life. My cuticles were overgrown and I mentioned them to him. He put cuticle gel on then tried to cut my cuticles while they were smothered in white cream. I mentioned it again and he told me they were already short. I ask him again, and he started randomly tugging at my nails and proceeds to make me bleed and give me a hang nail. When it came to actually painting my nails, he was awful. He just painted all over my finger then tried to remove the polish by smearing with his nails. Some nails were painted once, others three times. I had to ask him to remove the excess paint on my skin multiple times and he finally took a dry brush and wiped around my nails, removing nothing. Including a pedi, this all took 2+ hrs. I've had to sit in a pedicure chair for 20+ minutes while waiting for the next nail tech, felt rushed so they can go on to the next customer, and the nail techs left several times during my pedicure to do other clients for a few minutes and would come back to me. The tips applied where uneven, rushed over and bulbous, not sleek and neatly shaped. When I returned for a fill in, I was passed up for a regular who did NOT have an appointment and asked to wait 30 minutes as all technicians were doing pedicures at the moment. My second attempt to get a fill in was a week later and again, passed up for a regular who walked in behind me and asked if I wanted to wait 30 min or come back the next day. I declined. I found another salon just across the ways and got the service and outcome I expected as a WALK IN. For the price of $27, I could have paid 37 for mani pedi... so i'm not that happy about that. As a first time customer of Rose Nails, I can honestly say I was not impressed nor will it be a shop that I will be visiting again. I received a pedicure, nail polish change and a nail fix and to say the least I am not thrilled at either. I have coffin shaped nails which aren't easy to do for all nail techs so before she began I asked her was she comfortable with coffin shaped nails, she replied yes. It was after that, that I seen she was not familiar with the shape and not only did she have to try to reshape the nail several times but she then had to ask for assistance (like she should have done initially). My nail length did not match my other finger (because she went solely off sight) so I took it upon myself to assist her by measuring my nails and asking her several times to refile and remeasure my nails for accuracy. I am leaving the salon with nail polish all over the surface of my hand, uncleaned polish around my toe nails and non-soft feet. read more

I was super excited to find this place on franklin and after some bad experiences, I was hoping this would be a good one. The staff seemed super friendly of course until it got time to do my nails. So I wanted a set of acrylic nails with a matte black color. I asked the old man who was going to do my nails if they have matte black. He said no. While he was doing my nails, I showed him a picture of matte black in case he just didn't know what I was talking about. I mean come on. What nail salon doesn't have a matte top coat? He got super offended and pretty much yelled at me "no! I already told you we don't have that" I'm sorry but If I'm paying $32 to get my nails done, I want them done the way I want. Any other nail salon I've been to has the matte top coat. The fact that he was pretty much yelling at me because he felt offended was so disrespectful. Never again. Also I pay $40 at any other place for acrylics and gel. This was $32 for acrylics and just regular nail polish. Also I uploaded a picture. I asked for a coffin shape. If this review were only for my waxing experiences at Rose Nails, it would be a four star review. However, they are a nail salon, and, unfortunately, not a very good one, hence the sad two star-ness. Let's start with the waxing. They can usually take me right away and do a good job. I've had the same woman the last couple of times and she takes her time and makes sure to tweeze any stray hairs and trim my brows down nicely. I'm in and out quickly and the price is right - $16 for eyebrows and face. Sadly, their nail services just aren't that great. My roommate and I went before Spring Break last year to get our pre-cruise pedis and we were both unsatisfied. The experience and foot and leg massages were nice but both of our paint jobs were botched. The polish wasn't smooth on every toe and some nails weren't completely covered. Another roommate of mine went this semester and also wasn't happy with her paint job. The only positive nail experience I've had here was for a manicure. I was attending a Jersey Shore-themed party and wanted a black french manicure. The woman that painted my nails, Annie, was really nice and friendly and we chatted the whole time. (I always feel awkward when someone is grooming my body for me and we don't talk - even during facials and massages I talk) My manicure looked great and was perfect for the party. It lasted almost a week and I was amazed at the number of compliments I got. I go to Rose to get waxed because it's quick and easy and so close to home, but I make the trek to Durham or elsewhere to get my nails did. read more
