One of the modifications was the installation of an external oil cooler, which is always a good idea, but I think they also installed what hot-rodders call a "shift kit". I wish they hadn't done this. It shifts very hard, particularly 2-3 and 3-4. I'll bet that this thing lasts the 25k warranty, but my motor mounts and CV joints probably won't :( If you use this shop, ask about the pros and cons of any potential modifications they will be performing.

Before I meet Phil, I had been to big retail chains (that broke items under my hood) and smaller mechanics (who couldn't identify or fix my car issues) in the Rockville/Bethesda area. Not only were these mechanics not able to fix my car's problems, but the labor charges were beyond exorbitant... oftentimes more than triple the cost of parts. Then Phil comes along, willing to go out of his way to meet me near my home to give my car a free transmission and engine check - absolutely amazing! How many mechanics, who don't already know you would do that? After test-driving my car, Phil was able to give me his differential diagnosis of my car's issue and refer me to the amazing person who was able to fix it at a reasonable price.
