Omg what can i say about Rosaya but she is an absolute angel and a master at her craft! I ordered a custom made dress for my vow renewal and the dress came back to long (Im only 4"11) and also it was to long in the sleeves and shoulders . I am ashamed that it took me this long to write this review but hopefully it can help others who need an amazing tailor and are lucky enough to find Rosaya! Ok! So I got married in May. Did a lot of looking around for dresses and just never found "the one". And then luck would have it that I'm obsessively scrolling through all things wedding and what do I find? Kaley Cuoco. Reception outfit. Bridal jumpsuit. I saw it and I just knew. That's my "one". Cue the tier 1 internet stalking and not too long after, finally found her exact jumpsuit- the Tadashi Shoji Revel Long-Sleeve Lace Jumpsuit. I already knew when buying it that, as a mighty warrior who stands at 5'2", I'd need it to be hemmed, because I need everything hemmed (which is why if petite sizing is available, I buy it, but fellow shorties will know that's relatively hard to find. Or maybe it's not and I just don't know where to look. Anyway...). My sweet and wonderful grandma usually hems stuff for me. And as complicated as my jumpsuit was, being intricate lace over a nude lining, I figured there's nothing my superhero grandma can't do. Long story short she highly recommended (read: commanded) I see a professional for this. So I started looking for someone I felt like I could trust, reading reviews, looking at pictures, the whole nine. I just felt like, if my grandma of all multitalented magical people is telling me to see a professional, this person's work and demeanor has got to be an earthly manifestation of flawlessness and if I find a single indication of what MIGHT be a red flag, I'm out. While I was searching, I also decided to launch myself into a militant diet and exercise routine ("militant" in this context means "no cheesecake" and "walk the dog like one or two more times per day"). Crazily enough, I was able to lose some weight by decreasing my calorie and sugar intake (who knew?) and then...the jumpsuit was loose! Originally, with the exception of the length, it fit relatively well. But then I had to tell myself...this is serious now...you won't just need hemming. You'll need................ALTERATIONS! (gasp) So finally, I found Rosaya. From the first phone call I felt so comfortable talking to her, I felt like I was talking to a friend I'd known forever. She was so sweet and upbeat. I originally thought whatever tailor I spoke to would just kind of be neutral, calm, matter-of-factly, no real personal touch just business kind of person. But Rosaya was just as happy and excited as I was and I loved talking to her! That really meant a lot to me. I planned to try to lose a bit more weight, and Rosaya was amazing about accommodating me for a fitting far enough in the future that I could lose more weight but also very close to the actual wedding. I don't remember exactly how much time we left between the fitting and the wedding, but I'm pretty sure it was under 2 weeks. By the time the day of the fitting arrived and she took in all the loose areas and pinned them, I needed 2 or 3 (can't remember) inches off the waist! Yay! She also took in the wrists, shoulders, and areas I hadn't even thought of but all of which were great ideas. She also brought the waistline up, since again, I'm short and your standard waist tends to fall closer to my hips than my actual waist. That was another thing I didn't even know I needed until I saw it. I picked up the jumpsuit the day before the wedding (!!!) and it. was. AMAZING. It fit like a glove. I was just stunned. Rosaya even said, "that's YOU now. that's YOUR jumpsuit" and like...YES. She was so right. Even with as well as I thought it fit when I originally got it, seeing it fit so perfectly in that moment truly made it mine (and also made me realize that it really did not fit well before lol). I felt so beautiful on my wedding day and I'm SO happy to have found Rosaya and have such a talented and caring person involved in such an important day in my life. If you're a bride-to-be and you're going nuts with your multi-colored planning boards and to-do lists and Pinterest and are overwhelmed with finding someone you trust for something this crucially important- go to Rosaya. You DESERVE someone as amazing as her. LONG REVIEW AHEAD, but extremely worth it! - I will never get tired of saying that Rosaya was and is an ANGEL. I waited 8 months to receive my wedding dress after ordering, and once I got it, it did not fit correctly in any way. The top of my dress is extremely detailed, filled with beads that were sown by hand. The back of my dress wouldn't close (needed to let it out) but at the same time, the front of the dress was too large because of the cups used. It needed so much fixing, and because of how detailed it was, I knew I could not risk taking it to just any place. I found Rosaya through yelp and noticed she did not have one negative review so I decided to give her a call. While being a nervous wreck about my dress, feeling like I no longer loved it, and stuck on a budget, Rosaya gave me more peace than any other wedding vendor did in the entire year of my engagement. Our first conversation felt like it had been our 100th. She was realistic in knowing that it would not be easy, but confident in her work and abilities, and calmed me down in knowing I was not leaving it to just any seamstress or any large company (from experience, the larger the company - the lesser they care about individual clients). I met with her 3 times over a month or two, the time was only spread out because of how early I called her, but with her dedication and expertise - any last minute emergency bride could come to her and experience the same level of excellence as I did. During one of my fittings, I went without eating the entire day. As a result, I got extremely lightheaded halfway through and felt as though I was about to faint. Rosaya acted so quickly to get me sitting, out of the dress, in front of a fan, with water and with food - all to be able to help me feel better. She went the extra mile in making me comfortable, and put my health before the dress or anything else, even when my focus was still just stuck on the dress. She took excellent care of me, excellent care of my dress, she even pressed it along with my veil as a surprise to me before picking it up the week of the wedding. Rosaya is a miracle worker, she knows what she is doing and her focus is always on keeping the beauty of the dress while prioritizing the comfort of the client. My dress was tight enough to show my curves, but loose enough to where I didn't have to worry about gaining a pound or two before the wedding! I have no idea how she did that. It fit better than the day I chose it, and Rosaya became my temporary therapist during every fitting. I had so much peace the day of my wedding, partly because of Rosaya's great work, but also because of her kindness and all of her advice. Oh, and it DIDN'T BREAK THE BANK! Insane! Where do I begin? First off, Rosaya is AMAZING!!!!! She altered literally everything for my wedding. This didn't only include my wedding dress this also included my husband's ceremony garb and his tux. She literally took his off the rack tux and made it look like a bespoke tuxedo. The sleeves were too tight in the arms and she was able to take the leftover fabric from him hem and expand the sleeves. This is actually something super complicated to do and she handled it like it was easy peasy. Not only was she able to also my corset top which was super complicated because of the boning she altered my skirt which seems simple but the skirt was so heavily beaded it weight 40 pounds. So the fact that she was able to alter that and make sure the beads were placed perfectly is not easy task at all. She's been sewing since she was a little girl and attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. Just by speaking with her you can tell that this is her passion in life. I took my wedding dress to her to be hemmed, bustled and taken in. She had to remove a lot of lace and lace appliques in order to properly hem the dress, but you would never have known it, it looks so perfect and really shows off the lace. The bustle also turned out fabulous and looks easy to do. She definitely takes her time pinning everything to make sure it fits each person just the way it should. She's in the process of taking the dress in (about 6") but from how she pinned the dress I have no doubt that it'll look amazing. Her prices are reasonable for the quality of the work she does. So when I first saw the reviews, I was like, "there is NO way someone can have so perfect ratings across the board." But when I called Rosaya, off the bat she was very positive, understanding, and accomodating. I bought a sample dress that was a size 20! (I'm usually a 6-8) you can imagine how much work this was for her! I had to get the sides taken in, the dress hemmed, and a bustle! The dress has about 6 layers of material including chiffon, lace, embroidery and rhinestones - but she did an amazing job! I did my final fitting today and the dress fit like a glove. This is an update to the review I posted about 2 weeks ago. I picked up my wedding dress from Rosaya today from being cleaned and restored, and it is absolutely perfect!! It is in new condition without any signs of being worn for 2 days. All the dirt and spray tan stains are gone. There were also some areas of discoloration Rosaya noticed, from adhesive the dress designer had used to adhere some beads to the dress. She pointed them out to me, and was very happy to replace the beads/pearls over these few areas so they couldn't be seen. Rosaya has incredible skill, and I would highly recommend her for any formalwear needs you have, or to request custom pieces (this girl can make anything... the garments and handmade accessories she has just in her studio puts the Project Runway workroom to shame). read more
