I initially had my wedding dress tailored by a tailor that didn't do exactly what I asked with my…read moredress. Because of this, I was upset & refused to take my dress back there. I needed an alteration done to my wedding dress at the very last minute as I leave the country tomorrow morning. I searched Google, called around & ended up here. I couldn't be any happier or anymore grateful than I am! Nury worked on my dress and had it back to me by mid-day. She altered my dress to exactly how I initially wanted it done & she pressed it for me without me even having to ask. I can not for the life of me understand some of the bad reviews. Not only is she great at what she does, she is one of the nicest people I've ever met. She talked to me about life and true happiness which by her personality, you can just tell that she is truly happy. She loves what she does and she seems to be great at it as well. She has customers that have been coming to her for years, each time I came in her shop... she had a customer. She's moved shops several times as they've tried to raise her rent higher and higher in some plazas and she still manages to find a place within the same area/proximity to deliver quality work to the people. She's great. Again, i'm thankful that she was able to take the time out of her day and do very last minute alterations for me for such an important day. I think that her business deserves more of a shine and if anyone needs a tailor, she is 100% the person to go to.

My recent visit to this dry cleaner's left me feeling extremely disappointed. I had been here a few…read moretimes before to get alterations done to my pants because the seamstress had done such an amazing job; it had been some time since I had been back. Recently, I received new work pants that required alterations and hemming. When I first walked in, I was disappointed to see there was a new seamstress working there, but since I had such excellent customer service last time, I decided to give her a try. She measured my pants and I told her I wanted all five pants, to be fitted. She measured me and told me they would be ready by Saturday, which gave her a week to complete. On Friday, I received a text message confirming the pants were done. I picked up the pants and tried them on when I got home. The pants did not meet my expectations or match the description. I went back to the shop and explained the situation to the seamstress. She looked at me with an upset face and began to shake her head. She was arguing with me, suggesting that I should have provided a clearer explanation to what I wanted. I told her I did not mind paying a difference. I just wanted the pants completed correctly. She continued to shake her head and told me she wasn't sure if they were going to charge me. She told me to try the pants on again and began to measure. She asked, in a stern voice and with a look of displeasure, and asked if these measurements were better. I showed her a picture of how I wanted the pants to fit, emphasizing that I preferred them to be more fitted. She placed some pines on the pants and left the fitting room without a word. I walked out of the fitting room and walked toward the cashier. The lady in front was gathering my information when she came and started telling her the prices. She then started arguing with the cashier over a price disagreement because the cashier did not understand how she was trying to price the pants. She began to raise her voice at the cashier (because she appeared to be frustrated), but I intervened and clarified the pricing she was trying to explain. I paid for the pants to be fixed, and she told me they would be done by Saturday, which would be a week. Saturday came along, and I did not hear a word from anyone. Monday and Tuesday passed without any communication, so finally I called the business. I explained to the man who answered the phone that my items were past due, and I hadn't received any text or phone call from anyone. He stated they normally would not do that, but he would check if it was ready and hung up on me without any notification. I never received a call from anyone; when I tried to reach them again, I received no response. Finally, the business sent me a text two weeks after she promised to fix my pants, saying that my items were ready for pickup. Let me tell you that even after trying on all of my items, they were still messed up. Some of the hems from the pants are noticeably shorter than the others. It looked like some of the pants appeared to have remained unfixed. I paid for a service twice, but neither time did I receive the necessary results or fixes. Both times I was measured, I even brought my work boots in to be measured properly. I wouldn't mind paying for a good service; sometimes there are miscommunications, but no one should have to pay for or deal with someone with poor customer service and subpar work, especially with their price points. My work pants are messed up and the company I work for won't replace them, so I would have to come out of pocket to buy new pants (the work pants are not cheap). I have to walk around work for 10 hours a day with mismatched and unfixed pants. I am not one to leave reviews, but the seamstress was so rude and did such a poor job.

This past weekend I was trying on the dress I got for my best friend's welcome party for her destination wedding. The zipper got stuck, then it broke, and my panic for having a new dress for this occasion in under a week set in. I used Yelp assistant to put in a request to local alterations spots and let them know I had a broken zipper off the track of a formal dress and I needed it fixed before Tuesday. This request was sent on a Saturday afternoon, so to be honest I was not very hopeful of any replies but Carolina replied right away. Her studio is right by my apartment so she told me to take my dress in right then to see if it could be fixed. She fixed the zipper on the spot, and when we actually tried on the dress we realized that I did not fit. Welcome to my nightmare. She had the brilliant idea to alter the dress and add fabric on the sides to give me the inches I needed. The result is essentially a custom dress that I am obsessed with, and at a great price. I am definitely going to keep Carolina on speed dial for any of my alterations needs as she is super sweet, detail oriented, and very well priced. Her studio is located in a blue building on Mediera and there is street parking right in front. Thank goodness for both request a quote and Carolina for saving my dress fiasco.

Fashion Alterations and Shoe Repair - Dingy and linty so upsetting when it was left in like new condition.

Brought my favorite sandals and diaper bag to get fixed…read more The issue with my sandals was that the gold plating on the open front toe area was starting to lift slightly (other sandal was fine) I thought they could just use some type of really good shoe glue to fix the problem but the guy said it was best to nail down the gold plating on both the shoes despite there being no problem with the other foot for preventive reasons, made a lot of sense so I said ok. Issue with my diaper bag was that the front pull tab was missing and because the pull tabs on all the zippers are identical with company logo on it, I wanted them to match. So I had them take pull tab from the inside zipper to place on the missing front pull tab zipper and use a generic pull tab for the inside zipper where no one will really see it. Ok so they did everything according to how we discussed but not in a clean neat manner. The nails he used to nail down the gold plating on my sandals are silver?! You'd think gold nails would be used so it'll blend in nicely so that really annoyed me. Next annoying rant was my diaper bag looked really dirty it had lint all on the bottom from sitting on the shelf and had dirt stains on the sides! I dropped this bag off in like new condition. I had to go home and hand wash the dirtiness off my bag. I was charged $25 in total for the fixtures. Which I wouldn't have mind if they actually paid more attention to details and handled my items as if they were their own. Poor negligence definitely don't recommend this place. Go elsewhere.
