I did the alterations for more than $700, accidentally made a mistake due to incorrect measurement during fitting. Because of this, Marina, the owner of this business, did not pay my part of the money from the amount I earned.Also, this alterations shop in Aventura employs mostly unprofessional girls with no work experience, and they try to teach them on the go. The room is small, cramped and there is not enough equipment for high-quality work. And most importantly, the owner is just a dishonest person who steals money from her employees, as in my case. This past weekend I was trying on the dress I got for my best friend's welcome party for her destination wedding. The zipper got stuck, then it broke, and my panic for having a new dress for this occasion in under a week set in. I used Yelp assistant to put in a request to local alterations spots and let them know I had a broken zipper off the track of a formal dress and I needed it fixed before Tuesday. This request was sent on a Saturday afternoon, so to be honest I was not very hopeful of any replies but Carolina replied right away. Her studio is right by my apartment so she told me to take my dress in right then to see if it could be fixed. She fixed the zipper on the spot, and when we actually tried on the dress we realized that I did not fit. Welcome to my nightmare. She had the brilliant idea to alter the dress and add fabric on the sides to give me the inches I needed. The result is essentially a custom dress that I am obsessed with, and at a great price. I am definitely going to keep Carolina on speed dial for any of my alterations needs as she is super sweet, detail oriented, and very well priced. Her studio is located in a blue building on Mediera and there is street parking right in front. Thank goodness for both request a quote and Carolina for saving my dress fiasco.

One tailor said they do not do zippers, another person said they did. It seems like there are a couple tailors here dedicated to their craft and another person who is just not. If you are not satisfied with the work provided, they will redo it an no extra charge. It does seem like this store takes longer to return the item back to me compared to Boca. Maybe this store is just busier. All in all, I do recommend Nordstrom for alterations. They also do alterations for clothes from any store.
