I had a great first experience which is why I decided to go back. However, this time it was terrible. I took brand new pants that were never worn to get hemmed. When receiving them back, there were a number of issues. First, no hanger or bag for the pants as they were handed to me as if it was dirty laundry. Second, I immediately noticed the hemming was improperly done leaving thick pieces of thread clearly visible at the hem. The seamstress herself noticed it and admitted it was poorly done. Third, the bottom of the pants had what appeared to be stains, but are actually small burn marks at the front which were felt through the indentations on the actual pants. These were expensive brand new unworn pants that were handed in. They resolved the hemming issue, which I appreciate but it does not fix the fact that the pants themselves are ruined. I still paid for the hemming and instead of an apology and a solution to the problem, all I received were excuses as to how those stains/burn marks could have gotten there while in my possession. I don't know where their service went awry, but I will never trust them with another piece of clothing again. read more

I truly enjoyed working with Carolyn and her team of seamstresses. She loves what she does and it shows. She has customers that have been coming to her for years. I worked with Debora and Rosa over the course of 3 appointments to get my wedding dress perfectly fitted, replace a broken zipper and button loops, and drastically alter the bodice and lining. They have excellent workmanship, from the perfect fit, to detailed work what with the removal and reattachment of many beaded appliqués and ostrich feathers on thin mesh and tulle fabric. The hem turned out better than when purchased at store. Mind you, they are not cheap, but the quality of the work is worth it. I went for alterations earlier than most brides because I wanted the work to be done carefully, and since we ran into weeks where the team was short-staffed or holiday rush jobs took priority I did have to shuffle appointments quite a few times-- but the wait was worth it and I know if I needed it sooner they would have delivered. It is really difficult to find a business these day that is so friendly and attentive to their customers while being sure to deliver quality work. I have had a very difficult time finding a good tailor in Miami. Over the last two years, I've have tried at least 6 different shops around town. I've finally found my perfect fit at Sew on Set! Carolyn is lovely. I'm surprised by the reviews describing her and/or her staff to be rude. On the contrary, I commented on how my young daughter would love the beautiful crocheted dresses she had hanging on her window and unprompted, Carolyn texted me some close up pictures later that afternoon so that I could share with my daughter.
