His wife works with him and it's always fun to see them working together: they make a great team and you can tell they enjoy each others company. I cannot recommend this place enough. I called on a busy Wednesday at 4 PM. I needed a 24 hour turn around on a long dress that needed to be hemmed. They stayed open late for me to come try it on. They took on the project, even though they were already very busy, they were able to get it done. Not only did they hem it for me, they did a fantastic job and pressed it for me. I had a floor length bridesmaid dress tailored here. It had a lining then the outer layer that had to be shortened. It also had 4 thin straps on top that had to be shortened. He did good work on the alterations. For the straps he kept some of the material so it could be changed in the future if needed (which also was probably just easier for him to do). I came in Dec 30 and picked it up Jan 10 on his request due to a lot of work that week. I had to leave for the wedding Jan 12 so it was ready right in time. The original price quoted was around $165 for alterations: shorten the dress and the straps. This was not a rush job either. I recommend asking for an estimate before trying on your item and having him mark the alteration so you know what you're expected to pay. read more

They were all a bit baggy and needed to be taken in at the waist and tapered down to the hem as well. Khoury saved the day! My fiancée and I had just arrived in Miami from NYC, and had a gala event to attend within 48 hrs. I needed sleeves shortened on a new tuxedo shirt in time for the event. After being turned away from more than 10 local tailors, Khoury was the one who finally agreed to do rush alterations on my shirt. He measured me and had me out within a few minutes, and actually finished the job that same day. I picked up the shirt the next day, about two hours before the start of our event. I brought an unwearable gown to Mr. Khoury- Purchased from a discount retailer, it needed major hemming, zipper was broken, and worst of all the belt tie was MISSING and could not be replaced by the store. Do yourself a favor and go here! Don't even think about it, just do it. I found Khoury after a tailor I used for years stopped caring about customers and started to rip them off. I had dropped of my Cavalli Wedding tuxedo to be tailored at the other shop and not only did he NOT do the majority of the work that I asked for, he also butchered my jacket so bad that I did't know if it was even fixable. The man didn't care to repair it and at that point I found Khoury. I left him a devastated voicemail at about 10pm just days before the wedding and I received a call back within 20 minutes. Explained everything and he told me to bring it in the next day and he promised to do the best he could to fix it. This man and his wife are the nicest people you will ever meet. They completely understood the situation and how devastated I was, and they not only treated me as family, but when I received my Tuxedo back the day before my wedding, I was beyond impressed. It was perfect and when I say perfect, I mean it! They saved my wedding, and I am eternally grateful! He is an amazing tailor who is compassionate and understands exactly what the client needs. I went to Khoury's to get a dress tailored. The dress was one layer of chiffon and one slip layer. It was a very simple hem job, about 6 inches off the bottom of each layer. Joe quoted me $150 for the dress to be ready 9 days from the day I went in. I went to Giralda Cleaners and I was charged $35 for the exact same job for the dress to be ready in 3 days. The dress itself cost $98 from Lulus, and he said that $150 was the best he could do if I paid in cash. I would go elsewhere, especially for simple hem jobs. I really wanted to like Khoury's but Joe really tried to get away with murder. read more

After spending a few years bouncing from tailor to tailor, Khoury's has become my go-to. The owner has been in the alterations business for a long time and is extremely knowledgeable about what alterations will work and look good and which are not worth spending the time to try to fix. He's also fixed a number of items botched by previous tailors. Did I mention it's reasonably priced? I didn't stop here sooner because I didn't realize there is free parking behind the building.
