I have my work pants hemmed and sometimes altered. Jose does excellent work. He also altered one of my suit . It fits perfectly now.

Service and quality of Jose's work was outstanding. The turn around of the alterations was done in a timely matter.

I will let the pictures speak for themselves. On top of that Jose is very rude. The seams don't match, altered so tight it won't fit my daughter and the stitches are tworped. I literally got home and had to buy my daughter a new skirt so bad it looks. Please avoid yourselves a headache so stay away from this business. read more

I stumbled upon this business online. The first time I went, I carried 10 pieces of clothing. So I paid almost $200 & the work was good. When I went back a 2nd time, I left 2 more pieces of my uniform & a pair of jeans. I don't live in Miami so time is of the essence. I left my TWO dresses there for 3 weeks. When I came back to Miami, the dresses weren't ready. I asked why he didn't try to call & he said he didn't know if my last digit in my phone number was a 4 or a 1. Couldn't he have tried both? But okay fine. I didn't make a stink about it. He seemed casually "sorry". When I arrived WEEKS later, (so now this is over a month later), I arrive, the jeans aren't done. Fine. I picked up the dresses. I wore one of the pieces the next day & the hem on the bottom of the dress came out. I am now scrambling to find a safety pin while I'm working. I called him to let him know & he said just bring it back. I DONT LIVE IN MIAMI. So it is an inconvenience. I told him my experience with him was upsetting. He THEN started saying he usually charges more for the dress & I'm complaining. So now he's making it seem like he's doing me a favor & if that is correct, bc I paid "less" than what he usually charges, I should expect "less" quality? I told him I never complained about the inconvenience before when the items weren't ready & I brought business (10 pieces) before. He then said "oh, you think THATS business???" Implying that my business & money had no value to him. Clearly seems that way bc of how I was treated the second time. This was very disappointing bc I wasn't as upset about the hem of the dress as I was with his attitude towards me, like I had no reason to be upset. I will never go here again. He rushed me off the phone bc he had another customer. I told him I wanted my money back but who wants to fly back to Miami just to argue with someone who isn't apologetic about HIS mistake. He didn't take any accountability for what happened & for that reason, I will not come back & do not recommend this tailor shop. read more

For several years I've been taking my clothes to Jose. I'm not sure how many years but we'll before he was at this location. He used to be by the hammocks close to Kendall Dr. I've never had a problem with him. He's always very professional and upfront about his workload and timelines. He's never not had something done by the day he said it would be done. Yelp says he closes at 8pm and that isn't accurate, he sometimes closes around 7pm so always call if you're going to go late and make sure. read more

I've been trying to find a quality, fair priced, go-to tailor shop in West Kendall for awhile and really hoped I finally found it at Jose's but my experience didn't go well. As another review pointed out, Jose can come off as very rude and non-transparent with his prices. There were a pair of suit pants I needed slightly tapered for an occasion, but hadn't settled on my sizing. Jose stated he would leave it as is for the occasion and complete the job when I brought it back after the interview without additional charge. I dropped the pants back off after and when I went to go pick it up, he wanted to charge me extra after previously stating there was no additional charge. Mind you, I had taken other items for him to tailor during the previous visits so the pants weren't the only clothing taken to him to work on; I state this for readers to understand the pants weren't the only profitable work I provided to the shop. I don't like working with dishonest customer service and couldn't believe it. I had brushed aside his arrogant behavior and rudeness but this was unbelievable. If you're looking for a tailor, look elsewhere because Jose will not take care of you and his skills are solid at best. read more

Finding a tailor in the Kendall area with fair prices, quick turn around and good customer services is a great asset. I'm not sure about the negative experience other reviews have shared but I have not had a bad experience in almost 5 years of doing business here. Wonderful! I had a great experience with Jose's. I took a very fine Armani suit to be tailored that needed substantial alteration (Hem, Waist, Leg volume and Jacket back seam expansion). He was patient and skilled in his measurements, provided quick turnaround (less than a week) and did an expert job of the tailoring. The suit fit like a glove and was beautifully prepared when I picked it up. His fees were more than reasonable and well below what I would have expected to pay for such fine craftsmanship. I've been doing business with Jose Since I was 17 so it's close to a decade now that I've had my relationship with him. I'll start my review illustrating my first experience with Jose, followed by my ongoing interactions, and close out with my final thoughts. Meeting Jose was the result of unintentional desperation. I had purchased a suit for an event and went to someone who was regarded as the best tailor in Miami, he refused to work on the suit stating it wasn't going to fit well and he would not touch it. Given that I wasn't interested in working with anyone else, I scrambled to find something from a retailer that could work and ended up purchasing a cheap poorly made suit, which this other tailor finally agreed on working with. This tailor then botched the alterations and took longer than promised. At this point it was the evening and my event was the following day and I was scrambling to find a new suit (that would need minimal adjustments) and someone who could work on it with my impossible deadline. I actually gave up after a few hours of not even finding a new suit, however my family had also been calling several tailors, and had stumbled upon Jose. Jose was not only able to accommodate my deadline, but was able to save the botched suit. For this I have stuck with him and will always be accommodating to him. In my various interactions with Jose, he has always been able to take care of what I've needed and has always set appropriate expectations. Setting expectations is greatly important, because it keeps us both on the same page. Given how demanding I can be due to my experience in apparel and made to measure clothing, Jose always makes sure to walk me through the options we have, even on a technical level, and makes sure I fully understand what I am asking for and what the outcome will be in the case that he disagrees with what I want to do with a garment. Some morons may perceive this as someone being difficult or not listening to what the customer wants, but the customer is rarely ever right and part of the value Jose adds is his opinion and guidance, which is what you hire a tailor for. As I did more business with Jose, he naturally became more aware of my preferences and would make sure to take care of things that I may have missed and hadn't commented on. When it comes to pricing, Jose easily has the lowest pricing of any respectable tailor I've ever encountered, you can probably still find someone who can do a hem for less, but you aren't going to find someone who does the complex work that he can for the same pricing he offers on the more complex adjustments. He also hardly ever allows me to tip, which is a shame because for the work he does, he should and could charge more, without losing any meaningful clients. In summary, Jose provides great service at an unmatched value. There isn't anyone I'd rather do business with, and I'm very grateful to be able to continue my working relationship with him. read more

This place is tucked away in a small shopping center in the hammocks. Very small place: however, very professional and personal. The price is a little bit high but you get quality work. My father has been going to Jose for years. The team at his shop consists of him and another woman I believe to be his wife. When I decided to take items to him, his customer service skills were non existent and he was flat out rude. He acts like he is doing the customer a favor instead of trying to earn your hard earned money. I said nothing to provoke him and he suggested I go to "other tailors nearby". He is a great tailor. He works in cash only so be aware of that but I've been using him for months now to tailor shirts and buttons on different clothes as well as hem pants. Great price and friendly service. I'd recommend calling ahead to make sure you have the correct address because I don't think yelp has updated it yet. Also calling ahead helps because you can set up a time where he can give you his full attention if you have a lot of items. He usually works late into the night and even after hours. read more
