Let me first say that this rating is tentative. Allow me to explain. After scouring all of Yelp and search engines for a skilled tailor, you can imagine why I had significantly high expectations for the level of service, craftsmanship and service from Mr. B after reading all of the amazing Yelp reviews. After spending an afternoon of thrifting, I brought my haul of ill fitting designer shirts and pants to Mr. B for a transformational sartorial journey. I can attest to other reviewers mentioning Mr. B's melancholy nature and his patience to fit me for 6 shirts and 3 pairs of slacks. At the end of the fitting session, I left a deposit ($$$) for my items, and he assured me that they would be ready for pickup in 2 weeks (Jan 21). Can you infer where this story is going? I show up at the shop 4 weeks after the fitting and not only were my clothes not even tailored, but it took him literally 20 minutes to locate my garments in his small shop. He then mentioned that he had a lot of customers and was gaging me to see if I needed my clothes urgently. I am quite disappointed at his total disregard for my time, lack of care for the situation and I don't intend on paying the full balance when I return. I forgot to review this place!! He is one of my favorite tailors. He has fixed a couple of pants and a skirt for me. Like everyone said before, he is soooo nice and sweet. Very affordable. He has done a fantastic job with everything I have taken in. I'm short so I have to pretty much fix all the pants I buy. He even managed to salvage the pants from my favorite suit when I tore the entire lining into shreds, the hem fell and buttons were missing. I know..I got mileage out of this suit :) After one week and $50 I have my like-new pants back. read more

Mr. B is an awesome person. Not only is he an expert at what he does - tailoring - but extremely polite, kind, friendly, insert positive quality here. I will agree with others that it may take longer than expected for your clothing/apparel to be ready, but to me, that is normal with Island/Caribbean people. It comes with the territory. I definitely suggest calling him frequently and be on top of your stuff to make sure you get it on time. I would not recommend going for last minute alterations/work as he is always busy. You may be in luck and get it done quickly, but be advised. While not cheap, the workmanship is excellent. I take suits, jackets, and a slack all the time, he fits them to my needs, and I never have had a complaint. Best of luck in your endeavors! read more

Took a pair of jeans to Mr. B. based on reviews on Yelp, and am glad I did. He is super sweet, did an amazing job, and I think $15 is a great price to pay for jeans that I can actually wear now without rolling them up a thousand times. Why is it SO hard to find a tailor in South Florida? I guess it goes hand-in-hand with the shortage of dry cleaners. Thank god for Mr. B! He is so good and reliable that I drive all the way from Broward for his services. I am a short short little dude and literally require every pair of pants I've ever owned to be tailored. I've been through so many horror stories since I moved here four years ago. Trust me when I say I've been to the rest and Mr. B is def the best. After reading so many amazing reviews from my fellow yelpers, I decided to stop by Mr. B store with a button dilemma. Not too fast. Let me explain. I wanted to replace the main button of one of my pants. Apparently a simple task, if you ask me. Not for Mr. B. He said that it will take him a week for completion and he needed to charge me $20 (in advance). Really, honey? For a button? When I complained for the price, he had the audacity to tell me that my pants were expensive. Really, honey? I think that this Mr. B. is taking the American Dream to the extreme, because if he would had charge $20 for changing a button in his native Haiti, I'm sure by now his Vudu Doll will be full of needles. My experiences have unfortunately been the same as reviewer, Zan Z. Mr. Bell is very nice, but very unorganized. High prices, yes. I've been here 3 times. My alterations came out very nice. I had to wait months rather than the 2 weeks promised, and the prices for altering a Suit are much too expensive $$$. You will never receive a call saying your items are ready, and you will only receive your items after you make several calls over a period of time. read more

When i first got to this location i though "Really? I hope you're kidding me". I honestly didnt believe any of the reviews i had read about this guy. Call me a tool but I judged the place, Its a tiny yellow-half-kitchen-size room filled with fabrics. Either way i walked in since i already had the pair of jeans on hand, And i really wasn't going to turn back after a 40 minute bus ride without seen what this guy had to offer. Mr B sat drawing a "blueprint" of what seemed to be a vest. I greeted and so did he. He simply asked what i needed. I told him i needed my Levi's 510's to fit like Dior 19cm's. He understood. He charged $25. The only problem, which i let slide by, was that i gave him a $40 dollar bill and i only got 5 bucks in return. I dont know if there is a rule about tips, since this was my first time going to a tailor. I just gave him the benefit of the doubt, and didnt make such a big buzz about it. I left, waited for the bus. Usually, like i mentioned earlier, takes a good 40 minutes to get home. I could write a theory about how this guy managed to call me back 5 minutes after i got home asking if i wanted to pick up my pants today. I couldnt believe it. He must've been riding along Flash in the speedforce or something. I got my jeans back, and perfect fit. No problems so far. Overall it was a good experience. read more

Once in a rare while you have a service experience that makes you want to send business the guy's way... I found this tailor on yelp (he has stellar reviews), and went last week to get some pants hemmed. He did a great job, not just at hemming, but at fitting them properly. I just took him a big batch of slack, dress shirts, and jeans. Think of all the stuff you have that doesn't fit quite right or needs a patch. Mr. B is an old school Haitian dude who will laugh at your ill-fitting clothes. Highly recommended. I just emailed 10 co-workers to spread the word. read more

not only does Mr. B take a MONTH to replace a zipper, but I pick up my clothes and find that it's the SAME broken zipper! then I have a shirt that needs alteration because the sleeves are too tight, and he took THREE weeks and the shirt is still not fixed. he makes you pay upfront, which is NOT the norm, probably because he knows he's either gonna screw your stuff up or not do anything at all and keep it in the shop for a month. plus it's expensive. do NOT waste your time here. read more

My first time with a tailor so maybe my perception of what I was getting into was off...but I can't say im impressed. I lost a lot of weight and needed lots of clothes taken in....took the clothes in (about 15 pieces) and was told it will take some time, but I wouldn't be disappointed.....more than 4 months later I still don't have all of my clothes back! Every week he tells me to come by and he will have my things ready (only like 3 pieces are still there), but overall I've taken about 10 trips there and only half of the time do I leave with any pieces. I've given him 3 weeks between visits only to come and hear the same "i've been really busy, but I have two more shirts for you" Not to mention that about 2/3 of the clothes i've picked up fit great, but there are about 3 pairs of pants that were taken too far in or cut very weirdly and now wear funny. Now I will say, he might be the NICEST PERSON i've met in Miami, and I really enjoy chatting with him.....but once I FINALLY get the last 3 items back I can guarantee that I will just be buying new clothes or going elsewhere from now on (i'll probably go back just to chat with him)....too much money (he is costly!) and time wasted read more

I've been going to Mr. B for some time now. He is such a kind gentleman and a true professional. His prices are fair, not the cheapest but definitely fair for the turnaround and quality. Terrible experience. Avoid like the plague. Most likely, this tailor may have been very good, very fast, very reliable at a time when he had no work. Now, he seems too busy. Problem is, he doesn't acknowledge this and sets you up for disappointment with delay after delay after delay. All the while he charges upfront. This is the opposite of good customer service and a consideration to patrons who support him. Heck, in my case he couldn't even find the clothes he was supposed to alter!! And I have to come twice on missed deadlines until he finally found what I had brought to be fixed. Yes, a very polite and nice man as per other commentaries. After first liking this tailor, I am really disappointed in how the service and quality of work kept declining each time i went. The first few times I went I received great service (the work was done as I requested and it was done on time), but after a while I noticed that it would take him longer and longer to have my work completed, up to the point that one time I was made to wait three weeks for him to hem two pants. Other times I found the store to be closed during regular business hours and I got scolded when I asked about it. Lastly, during my last visit, I was given my garments not completed after 3 weeks and when I told them that they weren't done, he argued that it was and demanded to be paid... I take my suits to Mr. B... and my shirts... and my jeans... and pretty much anything fabric related... What I love about Mr. B is that he actually cares if you look good... He always tells me "I am going to make you look like a professional" (in Mr. B accent of course) and laughs and shakes my hand...lol... This is one of those places that you search and search and search and hope to one day find... and as far as tailoring goes, I found mine... before I found good'ol Mr. B I was desperate to find a good tailor... after having a few expensive suits, I don't want to say ruined, but not properly fixed... I was getting anxious... But when i found Mr B i just saw the light and heard the angels!!!!!! Anyway... Really really nice man... and he deff. knows what he's doing... He's a very nice guy however my alterations were all off when I got them home- as I didn't have the time to try on all the pieces I took to him. There were not completed on time and he's not on a regular schedule so your always calling back to try and catch him. Pricing was just ok. Considering it's a 200 shirt that came back to small/tight it's enough for me to continue to look for my tailor. read more
