I called several other places to fix the back of my husband's neck tie. No one wanted to fix it, but Creative Needle Tailoring accepted quickly over the phone. I brought the neck tie in on Friday afternoon. The owner stated I can pick up the neck tie on Monday. We agreed on $15. I arrived on Monday at 1PM. I saw my tie crumpled up in the corner of his work space. The owner stated "Your tie isn't done yet. Give me 10 minutes." I was annoyed by this comment. I waited in my car for 10 minutes and then went back inside. We previously agreed that he was going to use a tag from a different neck tie with a brand name on it, so I was a little disappointed to see a random non-matching pattern. Since this is the back of the tie and not seen when you wear it, it wasn't a huge deal to me. I also didn't want to wait any longer. So, I paid the $15 and left in pouring rain. If he had been done with the neck tie before I got there, I wouldn't have left in the pouring rain. The place appears disorganized and cramped. I think the owner should install a bell on the door, because I was standing there for a good while before he noticed me both times. 2 stars since his work was rushed, not on time, and a different design than what was agreed upon. read more

I feel badly for the owner however, I am not a licensed therapist or his friend and he cried all his personal problems to me on my third visit to his shop. I felt very uneasy about being alone with him as he went on and on about his family and roommate problems. He is sloppy and his shirt was partially unbuttoned. His store is so disorganized with clothing tossed about everywhere. I never will return and actually sent someone back to the shop to pick up my altered items. It was not a surprise that it took him a while to find them. No ticket and items not tagged, no receipt is given and he over promises when the work will be ready. I do not recommend. read more

Not quality work, not on time, not reputable. Didn't know if this review would work with no stars soI upgraded his work and ethics's to a 1. This man / place is not reliable or trustworthy and does not stand by his work. Took monies, and ignored his promise of completion and quality. Don't pay him until your garment is completed to your satisfaction and double checked. Also finish dates are not reliable. I paid him in full, in advance for alterations on two shirts and one jacket and 1 pair of pants i needed for a wedding in two weeks. He sold me an extra suit and Tommy Bahama pants to be done with job. It was not ready as promised. I picked up after deadline as he didn't do them the day until the day before my fight out. Also missing Tommy Bahama pants. When i dressed for the wedding, i found the back of the puchased suit jacket pleats poorly altered and sticking out like fins. Also was stained, it had soap markings on it, and needed cleaning and press. I Wore my altered jacket, pants and shirt to wedding. Jacket ok, shirts ( both ) had 30 inches of hanging thread on every alteration made, both sleeves and both sides. When driving to the wedding i noticed my pants hem down and one leg sewed other not. Had to staple hem. Returned extra suit sold by him and he said he would fix them. Then he switched 100 pants for Costco 30 dollar pants. Both are still not wearable. Most distressing experience. Im writing this off as being hustled by a dishonorable owner. read more

STAY AWAY! Had used this place before for small alterations and Mike was friendly and did a decent job. I brought in two simple unlined dresses and asked them to be hemmed 2.5in shorter. Very simple. He said it would take a week. I figured he was busy and I said ok. A week later the store is closed ... during normal operating hours. I call and there's no way to leave a message as he doesn't have voice mail. I am leaving a one star review because the owner is very kind, and is a very nice guy. However, I brought in 3 dresses to get tailored, and the first two dresses I received back within 2 weeks... they turned out decent enough, but the third dress took five months to get back... all I needed was for it to get taken in slightly and it was a disaster, I called in almost every week for five months and he kept telling me to come in next week, and every week I came in it was not ready. I just moved to the area and was in need of a tailor. I saw the overall 4 star rating and thought I'd be in good hands. I brought a pair of Levi shorts in to be taken in at the waist and he said it would be a project and it sucks to do but that it was doable. Told me to call back in a week or so to pick up. He tried to pin where I needed it taken it but they were popping off so he haphazardly marked with chalk in the back. I already became skeptical.. I came back a week and a half later and he said his machine was broken and he wasn't finished. No problem. I called a week later he said he still wasn't done and to come in on Monday. I came on Tuesday, (now three weeks since drop off) and I tried on the shorts and they looked practically the same.. back was gapping a solid THREE INCHES (I measured), but now there were threads sticking out all over the place. He said he could take them in more in the back and I said no since it's been three weeks. He told me he'd show me and started to stitch on them with NO MARKINGS saying he could eyeball it. I said no since he tried to do that the first time and it didn't work. I am not one to leave bad reviews but I needed to make a comment about my experience. Very unhappy and frustrated. I see all sorts of reviews here. I have not had a good experience/results here. Based on results it seems that he had good and bad moments. Both of mine were sloppy. I have come here since it's only 5 minutes from my house. Usually it's on a last-minute basis which might be why the job has been so sloppy. The first time my boyfriend needed a Halloween costume fitted/adjusted and he did a horrible job. We actually threw the costume away. The workmanship was sloppy and it looked just as bad after the very costly alteration. The second time I went was also on an emergency basis, I just needed a simple hem done on a tank top. He charged $20 for a simple hem. Never in my life have I ever paid $20 for a hem. And this was a cheap simple tank top. The hem Cost more than the top! I will never go there again. Not even on an emergency basis. In fact right now I heading to Hallandale where I used to live and always had a great job done. It's 25 min away but they are 100% worth it. I will not come back here. I had heard a couple horror stories about this place, with regards to sheisty pricing, delayed completion times and general smarminess of the owner Mike- but the location was convenient so silly me, I decided to give it a shot. I won't bore you with all the details but suffice to say I got ripped off by Mr. Mike and will not be back! He reminds of me a car salesman, actually... and is definitely not a good dude. Having used numerous seamstresses and tailors over the years I can tell you with absolute certainty that in addition to being a sheister, ole Mikey is also NOT at the top of his craft. Cannot trust this person. I dropped a dress off for a zipper fix several months ago. He told me it would take a few days. A month later, I dropped off another dress for a small seam rip and the first dress was still not done. He said the second dress would only be a few days in which I gave him a deadline for 3 weeks later. It has been 3 months so I went to the shop to pick up my dresses. The shop was locked during business hours so I called the guy. He was very rude and when he showed up his tone was very aggressive because I wanted to take my dresses and leave. I had given him plenty of time to fix them but he made no moves. I had gained a sketchy feeling about him because the second time I dropped off a dress, he was pushing hard to sell me someone else's (I am assuming he never got to theirs and the owner forgot..??) If he had at least communicated to me before the deadlines that the dresses would not be ready, I would have been understanding. But he didn't have any respect to do that.... Just leave you hanging. God forbid someone actually rely on him for a time sensitive fix. Work never got done, so I will be going somewhere else. I also want to note that when I picked up the unfinished dresses, he was trying to hand them off saying he fixed the one with the seam rip, as if he wanted to charged for it. I held up the dress and said, "the rip is right here." That was very idiotic on his end. I could tell he was trying to rush me out with a sale. I have never left a review before, but I cannot express how happy I am with Mike's service! I came in late on Thursday with two dress that needed to be hemmed for a wedding. I needed them done by Tuesday. He said no problem and promptly called me on Tuesday morning to let me know that they were ready! He also had them dry cleaned and pressed so that they were ready to wear AND the price was so reasonable for the work he did! It's hard to even call this a business. I've used this guy in the past and he has considerably better service but I think the Yelp reviews are driving considerably more business than he is able to manage. You will absolutely NOT receive your garments on the day he sets the expectation for. I've had to go back 4 times for the same group of clothing over the course of 3.5 weeks and we're not talking about custom tailoring here, a few pants that needed to be hemmed and some jackets. I looked this place up the other day by entering "alterations" and my zip code. It was around the corner for me, and there were already 2 good reviews, so I thought "why not". The owner, Mike, is a nice guy. I needed a dressed altered just a little in the sleeve. He had me try it on, stuck some pins in it, and told me to go change. When I came out he was already sitting down at the sewing machine waiting for me. I handed him the dress and thought I was going to be told when to come back and pick it up. "Sit down, hang out for a minute, I'll be done very quickly" is what Mike said. So I did. He chit-chatted for 5 minutes, and we hung out for a little, and before I knew it he was done. He charged me $10 and I'm very pleased with the work. Here's the thing. The owner doesn't know a lot about the internet, or marketing. He's old school. He's been doing this for years, and it's all he knows. He runs a good business, and is good at what he does. I think he just needs some boost in business, and maybe a good review like mine on Yelp will help. But beware- he's half Italian (Sicilian ) and half Egyptian. So he can be a little pushy, but he's got the best intentions. Just like a typical Italian Mother with the "tough as nails" attitude of someone from the Middle East. I enjoy that, but it might not be for the faint of heart :) If you're in the area- throw Mike some business. read more

Don't make the mistake of coming here for any alterations. My girlfriend and I dropped off 2 dresses and 2 pairs of jeans to get shortened and it took a week to get them done. When we came to pick them up, he had no idea which clothes were ours and he gave them back to us with pins still in them. The jeans he did for me were still too long so I brought them back to get shortened (and I was charged again.) I was still OK with all of this, but then he told me they'd be ready by a certain day and when I called to confirm, he had no idea what I was talking about. When he realized who I was, he said he would do them within the hour, but I already had to change my plans around and when I got them they still had string hanging all over them. He comes off as extremely arrogant and unorganized and, honestly, it's just not worth the hassle. Check out Shoe Doctor on Federal Highway if you want quality. They did another pair of pants of mine same day and were cheaper than this place!! I'm promoting for them here because they were really nice to deal with and did the work quickly and properly. Getting clothes altered shouldn't be a stressful ordeal. I'm usually really laid-back, but I really don't understand how someone can run a business like this. Hope you take my word for it. I've read the good and bad reviews of this place. But I decided to try nonetheless because I figured 'how hard could it be for him to hem three pair of men's dress pants.' Apparently, its too hard for him. On the phone, he quoted me $14 for hemming (with cuff). But when I brought the pants, he said cuffs would be $18. What's an extra $12, I figured. This guy talks over you and cuts you off when trying to explain your instructions, acting as if he knows everything already. I'm pretty easy-going so I brushed it off as just his personality and brought him 3 pairs of dress pants. I specified, "hem only." "Yeah, yeah, ok, you the boss, no problem!" is his famous line, and I fell for it. Firstly, he never called me to inform me they were ready. I had to call him a number of times on their due date to inquire whether they were ready yet. On the surface, the pants seemed fine when I picked them up. However, while wearing a pair (at the office), I notice that the seam on the right leg (by the knee) had opened up by 3 inches. Embarrassing, yes. After getting home, I examined the inside of all of the pants and noticed that 1) he had arbitrarily decided to taper the legs on two of the three pairs despite my instructing him to "only hem them" and 2) he didn't tie a knot in the stitching to prevent the seam from opening. He left long pieces of thread and no knot. He's extremely sloppy. Today, I noticed that the seam on the left knee area is starting to open. I've given this guy more than enough benefits of the doubt and I'll chalk this horrible experience up to 'a lesson learned' but I will never return to this place again. I wont even return the pants and demand to have him fix them because he doesn't take instructions nor criticism very well and would probably if anything, decide on his own to cut them into shorts or ruin them in some other way. It's ultimately up to you to decide whether to give this guy a try. But I and others have done so only to learn the hard way not to give this arrogant, sloppy worker our business. One guy does it all and doesn't do it well. Trying to summarize my experience, didn't listen to what I wanted so had to have him alter it, everytime I called when I was told it was ok to pick it up (a week) it hadn't even been started but he said he could get it done real quick (happened 3 separate times). The last time and final time it had been 2 months since I dropped it off (I left it there awhile due to vacation) I called to pick up...still not started, he'll get it done real quick though.... of course he didn't mark on the jacket after the first alteration didn't work and now it had been two months since we had our last conversation so he forgot what needed to be done. Doors are often locked during business hours, makes obvious he doesn't like credit cards. He can seem nice but other times seems very abrupt and not friendly. Final product was a B- after having to have him do it a couple times, overall business experience was F-. See other reviews, people in a rush go to him and he can do it "on the spot" or "saved them in a tight situation". Seems to get some 5 stars on here for rushing to help someone. I came back the next day to drop off my husband pants and he said your clothes are ready. We originally agreed to Friday. He also did my husband pants on the spot so we would not have to come back. FINALLY. I've found an alterations place that does a good job and for an amazing price! I came in on a Wednesday with a top that I needed altered in order to wear that coming Saturday. The website I purchased it from sent me the wrong size and quickly ran out of stock as it was part of a sale. I walked in and was greeted by Mike who assured me it would be done by Friday. And the best part is that it was! It was altered exactly how I needed it to be. Mike is a really cool guy. People say he is "pushy" or "abrupt" but it's a part of his personality and his culture. I'm Italian and talking to him was like talking to one of my family members. I can see why some may find it to be a negative thing, but it is only because they can't relate to us loud Italians.
