Went in for a few drinks and food with a few friends. Overall amazing experience from the quality and taste of the food, to the beer selection, and overall atmosphere. My servers name was Danika and she was energetic and very attentive. Next time I visit Rosati's I will definitely be requesting Danika to take my table. Will definitely be coming back. I'm so grateful for Rosati's Pizza! We've been looking for a Chicago style deep dish pizza and was having difficulty finding a restaurant that offers this type of pizza near Carlsbad. I've been to Chicago a few times and enjoyed the Chicago style pizza in Seattle. So it's nice to have go-to place locally. We were too hungry to take a pic of our delicious pizza. We will be returning patrons. read more

Amazing food!! Love the staff, we always feel welcome and enjoy our evenings here! Mel and Kelly and Gia are so wonderful...

First time eating here. We've always on a daily pass by this place and have always wanted to try the food here. Finally stopped by on 10/16 for a bite. We started off with some appetizers, the cheese fries and wing. For the main dish we tried the Chicago style deep dish pizza. The cheese fries most likely will not order again. Tasted like the frozen type, a little old and stale, the cheese was cold and like a velveta taste so never again and plus I think $8 for a side of fries is a bit over priced. We also had the the wings, omg! The bomb! Ordered a large size and had them half hot and half BBQ. Very meaty for being wings was very impressed and surprised. Cooked/fried perfectly where the skin was crispy, just right. Both sauces where excellent and on top of that the sides of ranch was the right type of ranch if you know what I mean. We ordered the deep dish with pepperoni and sausage in the small size. We were impressed with the dish, very meaty with even and balanced toppings, the sauce was just the right amount, I couldn't complain. We would definitely come back for more wings and deep dish pizza. They also have many beers on tap to choose from. read more

This place is delicious!! The group ordered: Thick crust meat pizza Dough Nuggets (free with Yelp check-in) Chopped chicken salad Spaghetti & Meatballs Everything ordered came out hot and was delicious. Our waitress was amazing and so friendly!!! The owner heard it was our first time and came out to deliver the beer just to say thanks for trying them out and was so nice. Great back patio seating. Seriously you cannot go wrong eating here. Give it a go!!! read more

It was fine. Food was good, service was good. A lot of regulars hanging out during happy hour.

If u are looking for deep dish Chicago pizza I don't recommend this pizza place. They are not a deep dish pizza place in Chicago. Just general pizza. The 10" pizza was like $25 w tax. I was disappointed. It was expensive and just not good. The sauce is very acidic. This is not Lou Malnatis. I recommend a Home Run Inn Frozen Pizza from Sprouts for less than 1/2 the price. read more

Great Italian Beef sandwiches! Been there several times for both dine in and takeout.

My very first Yelp post ever. I normally do not complain, but I must. This is My second time ordering from here. First time was okay. Ordered a thin crust pep. Today I ordered a Chicago deep dish with pep. It was tasty. Only thing is that I specifically asked for TRIPLE SAUCE. The kind lady told Me that it would be too soggy & that She wouldn't recommend it. I'm a huuuuge extra sauce kinda guy. So then I asked for 2X sauce. She still said it would be too soggy, but I insisted anyways. Having said that, My pizza was not soggy one bit because it looks like they barely added any sauce. I will give them one more chance. Hopefully they will acknowledge the fact that I Love Love Love extra sauce lol. Anyways. Thanks again & stay safe. read more

This place is.... Chefs kiss! The meatballs are to die for and don't even get me started on the cheef sandwich! Blonde bartender is always SO friendly and is always hustling. Keep it up, rosatis! read more

Very average. If you give this place 5 stars then you clearly need to visit more restaurants. I ordered a Chicago style pizza with 1/2 sausage and a thin crust 1/2 pepperoni pizza for pickup. The takeout service was late to have my order ready when I arrived. Grease leaked out from the box and all over my car. My 1/2 pepperoni pizza barely had any pepperoni and worst of all it tasted like the frozen pizza you get at Vons. The Chicago style was mushy and not very good. There are much better places nearby for pizza. read more

We really like the pizza here but they have VERY SERIOUS delivery problems. Not only was our pizza wrong again (for at least the 3rd time) AND more than an hour late (unfortunately, this is typical), but this "cold mess" is LITERALLY what we got. You simply can't make this stuff up. Did the delivery guy drop it? Not sure I want to know. Do yourself a favor and dine in only. read more

I went here for one of my friends going away parties. And no shame to the workers there but they gave away my food and got mine and multiple of my friends orders wrong. It was supper rushed and I know it's frustrating for them when a big group of people come in, but come on. They were rude when my friends asked what kind of drinks they serve and would quickly walking away and ignore us if we tried to ask for something. I don't think any of us were able to get a refill the whole time. They overcharged us for a lot of the items and would put on the check double items or upsize the pizza on the bill. The good was good and we all still had a good time. But no thanks to the waiters. read more

We had a work party and ordered Rosartis for delivery. We ordered four pizzas, some chicken wings and garlic cheesy bread. Upon arrival, 3 of the 4 pizzas were messed up as in smushed to one side. The service here was amazing because they ended up making 3 new pizzas for us because of the mess up. Now that is awesome customer service. The pizzas tasted fantastic too. The meat lovers pizza was on point and the Rosartis pizza was super delicious too. I'm usually not a fan of green olives but with all the toppings mixed together, the pizza was super yummy. I've never had Chicago style before and I was really excited to try this. The chicken wings were crisp and well flavored. The cheesy bread was okay but they probably would of tasted better if I ate them straight out of the oven and not when I went on my lunch. Everything was really good, I def want to visit the actual restaurant because the owner said they have 30 beers on tap. Awesome pizzas, awesome service, will def order from here again!!! 3.5 Stars: came here recently and wasn't impressed with the Chicago style pizza. I'm no expert on Chicago style but I felt there was more dough than pizza ingredients. Windy City fries were good, but the portion was super small for the cost. We had to order twice just to get enough. Dough nuggets were meh, but with a yelp check in they are free!!! Will probably stick to specialty pizzas and not detour to the other items :/ read more

It started off well. I checked in on yelp and got a free order of dough nuggets. Wife and kids loved them. It wasn't that crowded and we were seated immediately. There is also a bar with loads of beers on tap and plenty of big screen TV's with sports playing. My wife and teenager got salads, but only because they ate the entire basket of dough nuggets and pizza would have been dough overload. I'm gluten free so I didn't try the nuggets but my kids and wife really enjoyed them. They said they were light, puffy, and very yummy with the side of marinara included. It was huge and they came out fairly quickly. My son got the Cesar salad. It looked good and my son said it was, but it was a little on the small side at $9.00. My wife's salad had to be sent back as they forgot to include the chicken it was supposed to have on it. I ordered a GF pizza which was actually fantastic. The thin crust was $11 plus $1.50 for each topping. Chicken + spinach was $14. It's a small 10" GF pizza. It was darn good but I ate the entire thing and left hungry. I've never left a pizza place hungry after eating an entire pizza. I would still go back again but there are several good pizza places with GF to choose from. My youngest son got a pasta kids meal. It was a bit too small for a 12 year old. I think it's more geared towards younger kids. However, at $6 for a half bowl of penne and a piece garlic bread, I'm not feeling it. Overall it was a good experience and I'm a fan. We will probably go again for pizza but it's not going to be a regular place in my dining out rotation as of now. Plenty of parking in the huge parking lot. Easy access, friendly service, and good pizza. read more

Delicious Chicago style pizza! Hubby and I come here often with my in-laws and we always have the best time. Rosati's has a fun and lively atmosphere. It's a great spot to catch a game. The staff is so friendly and welcoming and treats us like family. The food is fantastic and everything on the menu is great. I love both the thin crust pizza and the deep dish Chicago pizza. The calzones are fabulous as well. It's a great place to come with my husband and mother-in-law who are both gluten-free. The gluten free pizza comes in the 10 inch size. We always get an order of boneless wings (which are gluten free!) with all the sauces on the side for dipping. There's a good selection of rotating local beers on tap. There's also usually hard cider or kombucha on tap as well. They have some great lunch specials too, but we always come for dinner. Always a great time at Rosati's! read more

This is one of our go-to, never-fail, always delicious, always happy, most favoritist places. We eat here at least twice a month, but sometimes once and twice a week. When company comes to town, we bring them here. When the kids drop in, we take them to Rosatis. My husband's birthday? He wants to go to Rosati's. You want a dog-friendly place? You can't beat Rosati's. You want a friendly, full-menu bar? Rosati's. You from the Windy City? our Chicago friends say this place is the real deal. Just go, already. First: the best part is the staff. Scott, Caitlyn and Kelly are so friendly and welcoming and we always get hugs and smiles. The rest of the staff is lovely, too, we just know those three the best. Seriously, if you come enough, everyone will know what you want to order already. Second, Rosati's has a nice selection of craft beers and other beverages. The selection of these will change but something is always available for all of us. You can sample the brew before you commit to it, too! The hubster always goes for the red wine. I like ciders and seltzers and sometimes the kombucha when they have it (bring back the kombucha!!!). One son likes the craft beers and the other son likes the GF beers. And third: the food is consistently good. The hubster is picky and won't go back to a restaurant that isn't up to his standards, and he is a die-hard fan of the Godfather Pizza. Meanwhile one of my sons and I are gluten-free; he loves the GF pizza and I like the salads. The other kiddo is also a fan of the regular pizza... ...But our FAVORITE: the bone-in wings. ALWAYS sizzling hot and tender and very tasty. Just know that the bone-in wings are Da Bomb because Rosati chefs know how to do them right.* Frankly, I hesitated to write this review because I don't want this place to get any more crowded than it is now! But that's not fair to Rosati's, so I'm finally biting the bullet. (*Attention, Gluten Free People: the boneless wings are breaded but the BONE-IN wings do not have breading. Some of the sauces may have gluten so ask for them with sauce on the side. The wings are so exceptional you do not need sauce! If you are ultra-sensitive to gluten know that they do fry all wings in the same fryer, but my son and I have never had a problem and he's more sensitive than I am.) read more

The food here is okay. Not much more than that. Just okay. I ordered the lasagna. It was okay to mediocre. Dry and grainy inside. Not the luscious cheesy concoction we were hoping for. (My hubby is Italian and delicious food runs in his family). After reading all of the reviews raving over their marinara sauce we were disappointed to find it's just the same old sauce we can find everywhere else. Too sweet. As though someone added sugar to it. Our waitress very graciously switched my lasagna out for a salad. Not to be unkind but---even their salad dressings taste factory generated and way too sugared up. Our server is a sweet girl. Okay ambiance and good happy hour price on our beers. We did like the fact that they layered our takeaway pizza between sheets of waxed paper. Very nice touch. Free parking. Always a plus to us. Even the free "donuts" weren't worth the calories. read more

Excellent pizza. My husband is a pizza snob from Chicago. He loves Rosati's Pizza. He claims it's the best he's had outside of Chicago. I don't normally like the sausage on pizza, but Rosati's sausage is obviously homemade, tender and delicious. The service is also excellent. read more

Excellent service and tasty food. Ordered meatball sub sandwich that came with a decent sized salad. Would have been nice if sandwich was a bit larger and less pricey. This review is both rough to write, as well as being a little enjoyable. Rough because I've been looking forward to Rosati's since it was announced half a year ago. I've watched this building be stripped, gutted, and transformed from a Papa John's and failed sandwich shop into a new, hopefully enjoyable dive. Aside from Lefty's, there are no actual Chicago places around (the only other one I've known was a spot in La Costa that lasted about a month and a half) and to have this opening nearby was cause to celebrate. On the flip side, I've also been watching reviews slowly roll in, all five stars, despite not actually being open yet. After leaving a tip pointing this out, I got a few nice messages all touting the brilliance of Rosati's in Chicago, the love they had for the sister restaurant spurring the praise here in Encinitas. I don't begrudge any place doing self-promotion, but this felt a bit obvious; especially considering all the Rosati's in Chicago garner 2-3 stars at most on Yelp. And yet, despite my desire to see those reviews exposed as the owners or bartenders, I still REALLY want to like this place! Enough of that; on to the review... This is a Sports Bar, first and foremost, and should be viewed as such. Because of that, they should be judged primarily on their beer and games up on the flat screens (Cubs went up 2-1 against the Cardinals that night, by the way). The decor is nice, I like the flooring and brick and the bar has got a great look with various brews on tap and Chicago memorabilia lining the wall. It's a great look, though I suggest more being done with the patio, especially for those San Diego nights. We started with Boneless Wings, half tossed in BBQ, the other in Spicy Garlic. They were obviously frozen, out of a bag and into the fryer. But, they were still better here than over at B-Dubs (though, that isn't saying much), with a fair amount of spice and sweetness and a breading that was crunchy and not stiff. My biggest gripe would be size vs. cost, with six small chunks running $7. At that price, they should be full strips, fresh cut and hand-tossed. A smaller gripe is wanting more variety in dips, tailored to whatever sauces you chose. Next up was the Italian Beef Sandwich. This was okay, though the broth was salty where it should have more of a garlic and onion flavor. Also, this is better served on foil, like you would get at a street stand, instead of plated, as it's essentially a French Dip with the au jus just poured across the top. The roll slowly became an unwieldy glop and foil would help. If they must serve it on a plate, toast it to keep the bread together. As it was, we split the sandwich and marveled at how it soaked three plates, including most of the fries that came with it. Again, I know this is just how it's made, just go all the way and serve it like it would normally be served as well. Last was the Deep Dish; this was the true disappointment. I'll admit, that I haven't eaten at every place that makes it 'authentic', but at the three that I have the most experience at (Lefty's in downtown, and Gino's and Giordano's, both in Chicago), they use cornmeal in the crusts. This not only to gives a golden tint to the breading, but also sweetens every bite as well. Top all of that off by cooking it in a greased skillet, and you get a crispy fried chew that is both sugary and moist. At Rosati's, there's no cornmeal and the color ranges from egg white to a darker brown. The texture is smooth, no greasy roughness from slowly frying in the pan, and, worst of all, the taste and chew are mild and stiff, almost akin to one of those breadsticks you get individually wrapped at salad bars. It's not gross or off-putting, don't get me wrong, it's just not the Chicago Style I know and love. Second on the list of sin were the toppings. Again, on a deep dish, the toppings are complete layers, stacked atop each other. Fresh and hot, it melts into a gorgeous mess. Cold the next morning, you can pick it up and see the fullness of each thick layer, making a tall and solid slice of pie all the way up to that very top ridge of crust. Here, the crust reaches up high, but the toppings are sprinkled like a typical slice of west coast. There's no separation, no full layer of just mushrooms or pepperoni, and no climb to the top of the pan even with the small 10" we got. Yes, the cheese was on bottom and sauce on top, but the way Rosati's built it up, there was no actual need to cook it that way. On the plus side, the sauce is fantastic. The tomatoes are full and sweet with a great amount of herbs sprinkled in. If it's canned, I'd like to know where I could get some; if it's fresh, then the chef should be proud of themselves. So, major expectations that led to little less than okay food and disappointment. Still, with those dreams of 'Chicago pizza' close by, they have me giving Rosati's a weak three stars instead of the two I would give anywhere else. read more

I first checked out Rosati's during a Yelp! Elite event. Since then, we've dined there 2 times and gotten take out a 3rd. The pizza is delicious; probably the best I've had in North County. Chicago style thin crust is freaking awesome. It's crispy, full of flavor and loaded with toppings. Their chicken wings (I ask for cooked crispy) are solid. There's a good amount of meat on the bones and the sauce is the right blend of tangy and spicy. The craft beer selection is one of the best in the area, second only to the Regal Seagull, IMO. The selection changes but there are always some familiar handles. The beertenders don't have a problem getting you a little sample of whatever before you buy. That should be standard, but Rosati's gets points for doing so. The happy hour is $4 beers 3-7 M-F (there's a few that don't get HH pricing, but the selection is still large enough you can find something you'll like). They have half price apps too. The beertenders/managers/waiters are all super friendly and they know the menu well. The place is clean and modern. Thank you for coming to North County and saving us from bad pizza! read more

Best pizza in Encinitas hands down!!! Really great service and decently priced. I'm a sauce girl and they nail it here along with the ranch dressing. Both perfecto!!! Great sports bar w/ really good pizza! Rosati's has a bunch of TVs, and it has a good atmosphere for watching sports. The happy hour deals for weekdays are quite good with discounts on pints and appetizers. The pizza is awesome! I can't say that I'm a native Chicagoan, but for what it's worth, I really like their deep dish pizza. It takes a while for them to make, and it's a little costly (you pay per topping!). But I think it's worth it when coming with a large group. I'd recommend getting your deep dish with sausage and peppers! The service is always really nice, and the parking lot always has a ton of spots. Give it a try! read more
