    Croquettes

Rosamar was my favorite meal while vacationing in Portugal and my favorite meal this year so far. It's located in a super hip neighborhood in Lisbon full of character with dive bars and vintage furniture shops. The restaurant itself is an incredibly charming space. Ask to be seated on the first floor for the best experience and so that you can dine in the airy atrium space. The staff is incredibly nice and attentive and gave excellent recommendations. My cousin especially liked the cocktail recommendations. Obviously, the food is why we came, and Rosamar delivered. What is a Portuguese dinner without croquettes? The Rosamar version was flavor dynamite encapsulating all the flavors of the sea and earth. Next came the scallops in what I recall was a citrus sauce just teeming with acidity and brininess. The leeks were a masterclass in minimalism and a visual feast as well. Every dish thus far was beautiful to look at and even better tasting. For our mains, we had the octopus and the mushroom entrées. The octopus was so succulent and perfectly cooked with just enough bite to match the rich sauce accompanying. The mushroom dish was umami overload with tons of fresh herbs for balance. I'm pretty sure we were too full for dessert after a tour de force of a dinner. The next time I'm in Lisbon, I'm coming back here. What a special jewel of a restaurant.

Beautiful ambiance, spacious and thoughtful. Staff was superb and attentive. The coconut lemongrass oyster was one of my favorite things I've ever eaten. Each dish that arrived at our table was our new favorite. Fantastic. The corn ice cream with lemon curd awoke my soul. Great wine list, and the prices are not bad. Can't wait to come back to Lisbon and go again.

    Octopus, fish of the day

Loved this place! One of the favorite meals in Lisbon. Definitely on the pricier side, but seafood usually is. The interior was very warm and cozy. Not pictured but we also had the tuna tostada, tiger prawns (SO good), clams from Aveiro, and soft shell crab as appetizers. If you have a big party definitely get 2 because the small bites were definitely on the small side and was hard to split between 4 people. For entrees we got the fish of the day which was sea bream that came with grilled potatoes and veggies. The fish was cooked perfectly. The octopus was also delicious. Service was fantastic and our waiter took the time to write down bar recommendations in the area as well!

Service was incredible, ambiance very comfortable, food was amazing. The flavors were unique and worked so well together. We made reservations for another night of our stay.

One of my friends who lives in Lisbon brought me here and it was lovely! Great service, interesting combinations of ingredients and flavor profiles. We enjoyed everything we tried including the coconut oysters, vegan tacos, tuna tostada, pasta and peach dessert.
