Nice clean restaurant, and my meal was fantastic. I had a breakfast with donuts, and this delicious sausage.

First time eating here and I was pleasantly surprised. The waiter was prompt, helpful and professional. We sat outside and it was delightful. Food was beyond excellent! I highly recommend this place! Great job Roots!! read more

For where it's located in maricopa it was a great choice for non fast food. We got lunch not breakfast , the plates passing us by looked like good size portions. I ordered the Cesar w chicken and my companion order the chicken sandwich . The flavor in the chicken was tasty , the lettuce was fresh and the portion was generous . I could make 2 meals out of it . My friends sandwich had a great tasting pesto like sauce , the bacon was thick and well seasoned . The down side was the cooking of the chicken . The ventilation in the shop was not working very well . The high flashpoint made the cafe start to get smoky to a point my friend had to walk out for a few minutes to catch their breath . In turn both of us noticed the chicken was w a crunchier coating to the outside but the inside was tender and juicy ones you peeled off the overcooked crust. But overall we would rerun again to give them another try , especially for breakfast read more

Best food I've had in Maricopa so far. Everything was delicious. Had the Reuben, blt Benedict, and crème brûlée. Service was excellence and smell of food when I entered made me hungry right away. I will return. read more

11-2 is brunch. Closed for 2 hrs to prep for dinner. Walk in, register is up front. Self seating. Menus at tables. Decide meal at table (or register), order & pay at register. Items are delivered to table. Coffee brought out in a french press. Roots scramble was absolutely divine!! I really enjoyed it. So much so that the chocolate chip pancakes were plain in comparison. I'd love to come back & try more brunch or the dinner menu. read more

Roots Eatery - Crispy chicken salad. I had the chicken on the side. - American Near Me - Maricopa, Arizona

Love this place! The food is always excellent. We were worried when we discovered that they had changed their dining process and had changed some of their offerings. However, we were pleasantly surprised and thoroughly enjoyed sitting out on the patio and being waited on. Soooo, yes, we will continue to return to this venue. read more

This place is very small and always busy, so arrive early, and if you can't get in, keep trying different days until you do - IT'S WORTH IT!! The chef takes the time to personally prepare and serve each dish and his food in incredible!! He comes up with meals that are fresh, flavorful and different. The menu changes often, so I will not comment on any particular meal, but suffice it to say, you will not be disappointed. Most of the negative reviews are due to the size of the restaurant and wait times. Ignore them - as I said, this place is worth waiting for!! read more

Our first time and it definitely will not be our last. Everything was fresh and flavorful and the staff was extremely helpful. We had dietary restrictions and the staff let us know that one of the dishes we ordered had bacon grease as part of the ingredients and allowed us to change our appetizer to accommodate our needs. My steak was cooked as I had ordered and was tender as well as flavorful. The Raspberry Bellini was extremely tasty as well. read more

the waitress was very nice i loved the service and i will come again to the roots we love guys i hope you guys keep up the good work

Four of us dined here. The short ribs pasta was fantastic and would highly recommend!! The chicken Marsala was also delicious. However, it went downhill from there. I got the chicken Marsala with fingerling potatoes and the potatoes were both cold and they were so over salted they were inedible. When I told the waitress, her response was that she knew that and should have warned me so they could put less salt on them, which I found odd. My hubs got the seafood linguine and it was so incredibly spicy he could not eat it. When talked to the owner/manager he said the menu said it had pepper flakes so not his problem (paraphrasing). They really did not seem to care that our experience was bad. Really a disappointment because it seems like there is potential. But won't eat there again when the staff doesn't take pride in what they do and do not care when there is a legitimate concern. Btw, this is the bad review I've ever given, I'm not a critical person generally. read more

I've always wanted to eat here, but I could never find enough information to feel comfortable. I didn't know if there was indoor seating, I couldn't find a menu or pricing... But I had company in town and decided to wing it. They DO have indoor seating, very cute and simple. They are very reasonably priced, less than most places in town with much better fare and cleaner ingredients. Service was so pleasant and accommodating, the menus had plenty of options for all tastes. If you've been thinking about trying Roots, this is your sign to go! read more

Small and quiet little restaurant with BIG flavor. I love that the menus changes. The prices are reasonable. Drinks are great and the staff is always friendly. I would put the quality of food up with the best of anything in Phoenix-Metro in this price range. Heck I might even say top 10 restaurant period in PHX. read more

Met friends at this trendy little establishment for lunch over the weekend. I chose Roots based on their menu and it did not disappoint! Two of us had a breakfast selection and two of us had a lunch selection and everyone was impressed. I have no idea how they come up with the variety of offerings they have out of that small kitchen but it's magic. My prediction is that Roots will be relocating to a bigger space in just a few years! read more

This place is great. I love the food here cause it's always fresh and made just right every time. They change up the menu every so often so I love the variety. The service is good too because they're always willing to help answer questions and offer recommendations. The decor gives it like a homey vibe so I feel comfortable when I eat there. Holy smokes, overachieved my expectations! I had the crab cakes and they may have been one of the best things I've put into my mouth. The roots salad was huge! I'd love to come back and have something else. A true joy! read more

The customer service was great but the only thing I disliked was having to pay for my meal in the very beginning and noticing other people dining in did not. The food was just okay i had a simple eggwhite veggie scramble with sourdough bread, the eggs were watery, my cousin had the chiquilas red the tortilla chips were veey soggy without enough toppings, the 1st one i saw without beans, my fav was the mimosa was very fresh and tasty. Last a lot of the food choices I saw online were not available or being served, I was told they change the menu frequently and the actual chef was not there due to personal issues, so they were doing their best to accommodate. Space was small but clean. read more

I love Roots! My boyfriend and I came here the first time when we were house shopping in Maricopa after seeing all the great reviews. The staff are incredibly nice. I love the aesthetic of the place, so cozy and inviting. The food is SO good. I'll have to visit soon and take pictures. My favorite meal is the B.E.Y.O.N.D. This was unexpected. I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of food and how fantastic it was. The eggs Benedict were cooked to absolute perfection. A nice thick slice of ham and a very good sauce. The hash browns are very well made and tasted hand cut and fresh. I also tried the Bruschetta and was blown away by how fantastic the flavors were together. Somebody spent some time in culinary school and you can clearly tell. Beyond exceeded my expectations in every way! The service was fantastic and the staff are very friendly. The restaurant itself is very clean and well taken care of. I can see them outgrowing this place in a hurry which would be a great problem to have. 10/10 would absolutely recommend! read more

Shout out to Roots Eatery! After a long day at work yesterday, topped off by a visit to the cruel endodontist and subsequent root canal, I stopped by on my way home to pick up a meal and soothe my mood. After expressing my tooth pain to the chef, I settled on the Butternut Squash Bisque and Blackened Shrimp Risotto. Although my eyes were much bigger than my tummy, both dishes were incredibly delicious, easy on my teeth and enough to provide another meal tonight. I am grateful for the compassion shown to me when I was feeling cranky (as always when I'm under the weather) and the scrumptious meal they packed up for me to take home. They've never let me down on any of their meals and I will continue to dine with them, either at their site or as a pick up meal. You should, too. #rootseateryaz.com read more

I assume Chef Ramsey would be proud. The steak in the Wellington was about as tender as they come and cooked rare as requested. The risotto was not mushy, but I think it could have been a bit more ale dented. Maybe it's my souther upbringing, but I found the flavor underwhelming. There was a hint here and there of a little salt and a little pepper, but no zing. Nothing special. Even the tres leche pretzel was kinda plain. No milk, little sugar. I like chocolate, but chocolate sauce does not say tres leche to me. Give me churros with sugar falling off and filled with cream or an actual tres leche cake with whipped cream and evaporated milk. I'm eating out. I paid $55 for a single meal, make me feel like I'm going to contract diabetes. No worries here of being called a gluten. It just was not $55 good. read more

Today was the second time my family and I visited on a Sunday for brunch. I love that I can get traditional breakfast items after mass on Sunday morning. The first time, I had the Roots Platter and it was absolutely delicious. Today I had the Coconut Brioche French Toast with caramelized pineapple; I added a side of their bacon. It too, was mouthwateringly delicious. My hubby had a salad with grilled chicken and it was not a skimpy portion, either. And to top it off, we got to enjoy eating outside before the weather prevents it. Roots Eatery is Maricopa's hidden gem. Personally, I am thankful to have a place like this here. read more

My daughter and I stopped by Roots on the way to a casino. We lost at the casino, but won at Roots Eatery. Enjoyed lunch so much that we returned for breakfast the following morning. This is our second visit to Roots in 2 months and both times the service was very poor. During our first visit the food was good, but we had to ask to order, for our check and other customers did the same. During our second visit today we waited over 20 minutes to order and there was only one other table. When she finally came to take our order we asked how long it would take to get our food because we had to pick up our daughter. She said the other table was in front of us and it would be a while. So we decided to leave since we only had about 40 minutes to get our food and eat. It cost a $7.62 for two diet cokes and the server couldn't not care less. Super disappointed. We will not be returning. read more

New to Maricopa. The food was excellent.service was top notch. You will not be disappointed.

The food's above average but they haven't graduated from food truck to restaurant yet. You have to order at the front counter, like at Culver's or other fast food places with drive thrus. Then they serve beer in plastic cups, which is rather low budget. The wine, which was low rated on our app, was pretty rank. They need to learn the importance of serving quality beverages, which only enhance a good meal. The place is way too bright, so not much ambience, and the TV rolls photos of the restaurant's interior, which you can plainly see for yourself. No music, no frills. WYSIWYG. Suggestion: Forget what you learned at the food truck and consider the fact you're trying to make an impression on customers who have other choices in an out of town. read more
