    Stuffed French Toast
    Drew H.

This has been one of my favorite restaurant experiences since I moved to Maricopa! Excellent food of high quality, great service, good prices, a menu with plenty of variety, and a nice atmosphere that could play to both a more casual brunch or a more dressed-up dinner out. We stopped in for brunch and were impressed with how attentive, professional, and courteous Janelle was. Despite the busy morning of customers, our drinks stayed topped off and we got all the help we needed. We tried the Chef's Creative Benny, Stuffed French Toast, and Roots Breakfast Platter, as well as trying their take on the Screwdriver and Espresso Martini cocktails. Everything was delicious! The brioche bread was toasted on the outside, soft on the inside, the eggs were fluffy, and the fruit was fresh. I cannot understate how good the bacon was. I've tried all sorts of bacon, but they did it right. Thick but not too thick, crispy yet not burnt, and just a hint of cherry to it. Fantastic. If you haven't been here and you live in Maricopa, it's time to pay Roots Eatery a visit! And if you can, ask for Janelle! She is a rock star and a valuable addition to this business.

Wow the place looks great! After the renovation this place now looks as great as the food is! Service is always top tier. The orange juice was delicious, couldn't get enough of the fries, all our food was great. My only "downside" if you will is my expectations of the stuffed French toast, don't get me wrong still delicious but when I think stuffed I wanna actually be able to see a layer of something in there and I do like my French toast more eggy?? I'm not sure if that's the right way to explain it but essentially not just cinnamon bread. Will we be back? 100%, easily best spot in town.

This expanded restaurant really comes together with a long beautiful bar, many dining tables and a view into the kitchen. The food was excellent and cooked perfectly. Service was also excellent and the bar tender served up perfectly mixed drinks. Growing comes with issues that can and should be addressed. One small thing is that they didn't install hooks under the bar for hanging handbags. The first thing my Girlfriend does in any restaurant where we sit at the bar is look for hooks under the bar. Small thing but big improvement. More importantly is that for this new high end restaurant the wine list must be upgraded. The wine also needs to be served at the proper temperature. In Arizona you can't keep your red wine on the bar and serve it at room temperature. Hopefully management will correct things in time but for now we will be regular customers at this fine dining establishment. Now the best dining experience in Maricopa.

I've lived in Maricopa for 9 years & today was the first time I've experienced this restaurant. This lovely diner will now be a place we eat at on a regular basis. They have a sign in the restaurant that reads. "Bringing Families Back to the dinner table one meal at a time." It's happening hear! We had brunch & it was by far one of the best brunches we've had. You'll see from my review history we eat out often as an escape out of Maricopa & I don't want frugal people wasting their money for clicks. We were seated immediately. The food took about 20 minutes but it was hot & good. My husband enjoyed his meal.

My husband and I tried Roots Eatery for breakfast this morning and it did not disappoint. We both had our own little French Press for our coffee. You can't beat French Press coffee...it was delicious! I ordered the Garden Scramble with Hashbrowns. It came with a lot of feta cheese, which I love. It was a great breakfast. My husband did confuse our waitress ordering a custom omelet, so maybe ordering off menu is not the best idea. Other than the confusion the food was great. The Service was friendly. The restaurant is small, but very cute and nicely decorated. We look forward to going again.

Visited a long time ago whilst looking for homes in Maricopa, AZ. Wanted food that was fresh and not heavy. Shared their burger with awesome fries and a Bloody Mary. Wow! The staff was great and did not rush us. Very cute and nostalgic ambiance.

Located in the corner by Dominos Pizza. Great patio area. We ate outside. We had the classic cheeseburger and fries. They split the burger without us asking. Well played. Great burger and fried. Very good.

Well...we liked it so much we ate here twice in one day, once for breakfast and again for dinner. We were staying at Ak Chin Ang and wanted to try a local establishment. We are so happy we did. Breakfast was fantastic and the coffee was phenomenal. We came back for dinner and we were totally impressed. My steak was cooked perfectly and very well seasoned. Fantastic!! My wife's salmon was cooked to perfection. We are so happy we tried Roots Eatery!! We will be back.

This gem of a restaurant is absolutely fantastic…read more It's a little difficult to get to if you don't know the directions, but it's in an old-timey building that was once a consignment store. It's cool though because it's rustic while providing outdoor seating both upstairs and downstairs. This place kind of looks like a barn but in a very vintage, very cool way. The space within is open and comfortable; tables are reasonably distanced from each other, there's a stage with a drum set and mic for live music, and country themed string lights wrapped around the stair rails and upstairs banisters. Country music plays in the background and on the TVs above the stage while sports play on other screens across the restaurant. Shelby was very nice. When we initially arrived, she was the only server, so her manager stepped in to take our orders and help. I love this because more managers should be hands on and help their employees. I can't speak for the drink menu while I'm sober, but the food is as roadhouse as you get, but in a great way that isn't generic. You can taste the smoky flavor in the sliders from the sampler and even in the baseball sirloin. The meat is very tender. Even the chicken in the sampler was moist and tender. The cowboy bites were addictive with cheesy goodness and mushroom juice exploding on your tongue. Not a fan of the asparagus, which I felt was bland and overcooked, but asparagus is very difficult to get right, even among experienced cooks. The potatoes had too much garlic, but my husband liked them, so I guess that comes down to subjectivity. He loved the ribs. Excellent service and food for a moderate price. The steaks can get up there in price, so be prepared to dig a little deep, but everything is appropriately priced for what you're receiving. On our way out, a server greeted a pair of customers with genuine excitement: "Oh you're back!" And they told her they returned because of her. I think more people should understand that customers get attached to servers. So good service matters for more than a review or requirement. It makes people feel good, and it makes the servers feel good too when the service is genuine. I am inclined to agree. Everything about this restaurant was excellent.

The only reason they get three stars is because our server took the food that wasn't eaten off of the tab without being asked. We walked in and sat ourselves, as the sign said to do, and there was one person working - bartending and taking orders. She saw us sit and came over quickly, but it took a really long time to get our drinks, once ordered. Not her fault, she was alone. Still not ideal though. When my mimosa arrived, it was warm and I ended up asking for a glass of ice to cool it down. I ordered the biscuits and gravy and asked for my side of hashbrowns to be extra crispy (spoiler alert, they were not). When my food arrived, everything on the plate was lukewarm and underdone. The gravy was too cool and congealed and inedible, the hashbrowns were limp and barely browned, the eggs were rubber. When the server checked on us, I asked for my food to be reheated and when it came back, only the biscuit had been slightly warmed. Everything else came back colder than when I sent it back. The server was nice about everything and comped my meal because I didn't eat it - pictured is what I received after it came back from the kitchen the second time. I just wasn't impressed. The drink was warm, the food was cold. Nothing was the right temperature. Severely understaffed. Good on the server we had for being so nice about everything, but I doubt I'll be back.
