Holy smokes, overachieved my expectations! I had the crab cakes and they may have been one of the best things I've put into my mouth. The roots salad was huge! I've always wanted to eat here, but I could never find enough information to feel comfortable. I didn't know if there was indoor seating, I couldn't find a menu or pricing... But I had company in town and decided to wing it. They DO have indoor seating, very cute and simple. They are very reasonably priced, less than most places in town with much better fare and cleaner ingredients. Shout out to Roots Eatery! After a long day at work yesterday, topped off by a visit to the cruel endodontist and subsequent root canal, I stopped by on my way home to pick up a meal and soothe my mood. After expressing my tooth pain to the chef, I settled on the Butternut Squash Bisque and Blackened Shrimp Risotto. Although my eyes were much bigger than my tummy, both dishes were incredibly delicious, easy on my teeth and enough to provide another meal tonight. I am grateful for the compassion shown to me when I was feeling cranky (as always when I'm under the weather) and the scrumptious meal they packed up for me to take home. The customer service was great but the only thing I disliked was having to pay for my meal in the very beginning and noticing other people dining in did not. The food was just okay i had a simple eggwhite veggie scramble with sourdough bread, the eggs were watery, my cousin had the chiquilas red the tortilla chips were veey soggy without enough toppings, the 1st one i saw without beans, my fav was the mimosa was very fresh and tasty. Last a lot of the food choices I saw online were not available or being served, I was told they change the menu frequently and the actual chef was not there due to personal issues, so they were doing their best to accommodate. Today was the second time my family and I visited on a Sunday for brunch. I love that I can get traditional breakfast items after mass on Sunday morning. The first time, I had the Roots Platter and it was absolutely delicious. Today I had the Coconut Brioche French Toast with caramelized pineapple; I added a side of their bacon. It too, was mouthwateringly delicious. My hubby had a salad with grilled chicken and it was not a skimpy portion, either. This was unexpected. I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of food and how fantastic it was. The eggs Benedict were cooked to absolute perfection. A nice thick slice of ham and a very good sauce. The hash browns are very well made and tasted hand cut and fresh. I also tried the Bruschetta and was blown away by how fantastic the flavors were together. Somebody spent some time in culinary school and you can clearly tell. Beyond exceeded my expectations in every way! The service was fantastic and the staff are very friendly. The restaurant itself is very clean and well taken care of. This is our second visit to Roots in 2 months and both times the service was very poor. During our first visit the food was good, but we had to ask to order, for our check and other customers did the same. During our second visit today we waited over 20 minutes to order and there was only one other table. When she finally came to take our order we asked how long it would take to get our food because we had to pick up our daughter. She said the other table was in front of us and it would be a while. So we decided to leave since we only had about 40 minutes to get our food and eat. It cost a $7.62 for two diet cokes and the server couldn't not care less. Super disappointed. I assume Chef Ramsey would be proud. The steak in the Wellington was about as tender as they come and cooked rare as requested. The risotto was not mushy, but I think it could have been a bit more ale dented. Maybe it's my souther upbringing, but I found the flavor underwhelming. There was a hint here and there of a little salt and a little pepper, but no zing. Nothing special. Even the tres leche pretzel was kinda plain. No milk, little sugar. I like chocolate, but chocolate sauce does not say tres leche to me. Give me churros with sugar falling off and filled with cream or an actual tres leche cake with whipped cream and evaporated milk. I'm eating out. I paid $55 for a single meal, make me feel like I'm going to contract diabetes. No worries here of being called a gluten. It just was not $55 good. read more

I popped in for a quick breakfast and had the French Toast, of course with fresh strawberries, whipped cream and some of his blended coffee, with a tableside coffee press, so very good. But one of the wonderful things is this Chef/Owner comes by the table for a chat and shares coming attractions like, his Valentines specials. The atmosphere and offerings continue to remind me of comfort food, family, and friends. Then they serve beer in plastic cups, which is rather low budget. The wine, which was low rated on our app, was pretty rank. They need to learn the importance of serving quality beverages, which only enhance a good meal. The place is way too bright, so not much ambience, and the TV rolls photos of the restaurant's interior, which you can plainly see for yourself. No music, no frills. WYSIWYG. Suggestion: Forget what you learned at the food truck and consider the fact you're trying to make an impression on customers who have other choices in an out of town. read more

This is by far the best restaurant in Maricopa. Prices are reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. Brunch is excellent, although I wish they had more well rounded options. I have never been disappointed in anything I've ordered here. Everything that is cooked tastes high quality with good ingredients, even the "basic" selections like Philly cheesesteak or chicken parmesan has small thoughtful ingredients that make it stand out from any other Philly or chicken you've had. If I could give it no stars I would. The food was disgusting. The mac n cheese tasted like it was made with nacho cheese. I was given a raw oily cookie and when we questioned it they said that's how their cookies are. We were told our food would be ready for pick up in 15 minutes. Showed up after 20 minutes and still had to sit and wait for another 20 minutes. The inside reeked of cigarettes. Do not waste your money or time. read more
