Please read the reviews and learn from the mistakes others have made. The office stated the service was $150 with a possible $100 upcharge for 500 additional gallons of waste. Reasonable price for 1500 gallons of removal. The time was set for 8 - 12N so I had to cancel plans but getting the septic taken care of was more important. At 10AM no one had showed and there was no call to let me know progress so I called in to be told the tech would be there well before 12N. At 12:30PM when no one showed up I called again to be told the tech was delayed but would be there soon. With no one at the house at hour later, I expected no one to show but got communication at 1:45 that the tech would be another 45 minutes. That was the first update that I did not initiate. By 3:00PM the tank was open with the classic stand up of the shovel in the waste picture. The price went from $250 to $16K in 10 minutes. Understanding the upsell, we said no to replacing the drain field. We watched the work completed which included the dig to the tank, hose to suck out the debris with no 'manual break up of excessive solids' and debatable hydro jetting of the mainline. The time for the 'manual break up' was 3 minutes for the $275 charge. The hydro jetting of the mainline was 8 minutes for a $400 charge. Both were reduced for the agreed final bill. I called the office to discuss the bill that grew from a possible $250 to just under $1K but the manager was not available to approve the reduction of the bill for the work not completed. When I talked to another person at the office, she explained to me that 'the tank has been abused and years past due on cleaning' when the previous cleaning was 3 years earlier before the house sat vacant for 2 years. Rooterplus is well versed in the upsell and taking advantage of homeowners in a pinch. Beware and try other companies that do not have the reputation and tradition of robbing homeowners. ****Update****after a week back and forth with RooterPlus the final bill was reduced but I still overpaid at over double the advertised 1500 gallon price for unnecessary work. Very reluctant to leave bad reviews but feel compelled to do so here: Rooter plus came to my house to assess a broken but not leaking spigot. Plumber could not fix and left spigot running all day. He said only option was to cut into wall because no other way of stopping the water . Another plumber turned water off within one minute of arrival and proposed a much more sensible, cost-effective solution. I will never use this company again. In addition to creating an emergency where there was none, the plumber left the window open, tracked mud through the house, tried to charge double the quoted price, and told me to Google it when I asked if there was a boss or someone else I could talk to. read more

Honestly BAD EXPERIENCE. If I had rwwad these reviews before March, never would I have used this company. I bought my house in July last year, in March I started to see water in my front yard, called Rooted confirmed the appointment to pump it out, my wife said They were done in less than 6min. Today I'm standing on my porch as my son is take a shower I start to see water coming out of the soil same spot. I mind you the service was done on March 20th 2021 and today is July 9th. First thing I did was check my water consumption to see if we were have been over using it. Guess what! We've used way less for these pass 3 months. 1 star is way to generous. 1 star means not good. It should mean never use them. Don't go by google or facebook reviews. Companies can delete those bad reviews/contest them getting them deleted. Yelp is much harder to get reviews deleted. Rooter plus will scam you out of thousands of dollars from my experience. Complete crock of shit company. In my experience they lie and even though you actually witness them lying they will deny the lie. Pretty terrible company and the reviews that say they are horrible on here are 100 percent correct. I had a leak in my condo that was really hard to diagnose. Barry and Jose were amazing. They really cared, answered all my questions, and most importantly did find the leak and make repairs. Cathy, the administrator, is also wonderful and very responsive. The only reason I cannot provide a 5 star review is that the customer service on the inside sales of Rooter Plus is awful. The girls who answer the phone are rude and literally yelled at me and told me I am being unreasonable. I work in the same position as these ladies in customer service on an inside sales team. Had I had a conversation with my customers the way I was spoken to - I would be fired. I experienced these issues when trying to get in touch with Barry during an emergency when a second leak was found and flooding my neighbors unit. I also was trying to get the invoice from my initial visit with Barry and Jose to diagnose the leak. This visit was on Tuesday, it is now Friday and I just received the invoice after multiple calls since Wednesday. I had talked to three of their CSRs, all of whom had different explanations for why they could not send me the invoice or why I had not already received it. One even said she sent it and I still never received it. It took me saying I was not hanging up until I spoke with a manager and that I would hold (to which I was told I was unreasonable, as previously mentioned) to speak with Cathy directly who then was able to send me the invoice in a matter of minutes. CONSUMER BEWARE!!! I wish I had read these reviews before I contacted this company. I was quoted $250 to pump my 1500 gallon septic system. When this company came and dug this up the price suddenly jumped to $760. I would have told them to leave but my husband told them to go ahead and finish the job Since they already had my yard dug up. I questioned the tech Chris before he started pumping why the great difference. He then told me I would have been advised there may be additional charges. I told him I know what I was told and even repeated the price back to the rep that scheduled my appointment. His rude reply was "people only hear what they want to hear." When we got his printed bill they charged $250 to dig 18", 60' of hose, 2" of solid. Really! 2" is basically nothing according to another company I contacted to see if I had been ripped off. They say on their website 150 for septic pumping 1000gallon tank. Plus 35 dollars per hose if needed. Plus a 35 dollar "sludge" fee. Plus a 35 dollar fee if they have to dig more than 18 inches. Horrible!!! Do not use this company!!! They LIED tried to take advantage of us when we were in need! Said it was only $150.00 to pump the tank, not true!!! This is a foot in the door scam!!They came out, left equipment that was needed to locate the septic, couldn't locate the tank, said they needed a plat from our county, left. My husband fabricated a tool located the tank, spent many hours digging the lid up, so no more drawbacks or excuses... they came back the next day, got the back hoe out, just to lift the lid, drove it directly on the concrete sidewalk, could have drove it through the grass, broke our concrete edges and corner off!!! Unfortunately, I've had several instances over the past few months that have required a plumber. I always call Rooter Plus because after using them the first time and enjoying exceptional service, I haven't needed to try anyone else. The last plumber they sent came out on a Saturday in the pouring rain to fix a leak in my storage room. Unbeknownst to us, my HOA had actually called their own plumber who arrived around the same time as the Rooter plus guy that we called. We felt so bad. We explained how the miscommunication happened and repeatedly apologized but the RP guy was very understanding. After making his own assessment and providing an estimate, he gave the other plumber a chance to do the same so my wife and I could consult and chose the best plumber for our price point. We chose the RP guy because not only was he more affordable but he didn't seem to be trying to take us through unnecessary procedures--he just wanted to get the leak fixed quickly and affordably. In ten minutes or less, he was done and he took the time to speak with us about what actions we could take in the future for the protection of our home against water damage. I wish I would have read the reviews before hiring this company. Be aware of the "250" charge. Not so. Mine more than doubled and they ripped up half my backyard which was completely unnecessary I have never had that happen in the past. They never came to me before hand to tell me it would be DOUBLE what I was quoted and the very arrogant manager was of no help. I think he just likes to listen to himself talk. Don't use them. They are really fraudulent company and RIP OFF. They are notorious in charging money for nothing. I had an issue with my tankless water heater one of the technician named Cheikhou Diagne came in(by the way he had no clue about tankless water heater or water heater in general. By the way he came in at least 2-3 hrs later than the scheduled arrival). Over the phone they told me $57 for diagnosis. When this guy showed up he said $57 is to just drive up to my residence. The he told me he need the advise of manufacturer to go forward and that he would call them. He claimed he called and told me it would be $275 to open the heater up (4 screws that's all). I gave him $275 and authorization to go ahead- he opened and then he told me that Rinnai the manufacturer told him that the issue is the with burner and that would be $870 to clean the burner and furnace and there is no guarantee that it would fix the issue. Then I understood the fraudulent nature of Rooter Plus.... I didnt opt for it. Later in the day I had a previous employee of Rooter Plus who is working for another company come in and fix it for $150 in under 20mts. Long, long story short. Had them out to replace a faucet and they created a leak while doing that, which caused damage to the hardwood floors in the kitchen. The company they sent out to replace the flooring told us there's no way they would be able to match the floors (spoiler alert: they were right) but caved to pressure from RooterPLUS to try and do so in order for the repair to be as cheap as possible. After a many months-long process during which time I let them put in some planks because we needed a floor, I still have unmatched wood and the flooring company has ghosted us. read more

My boss and myself as his assistant has received the worst experience from Rooter Plus. Rooter Plus was the third company called for the plumbing issue previous two plumbers both agreed on the same problem. Rooter Plus arrives in the home and stated they fixed the problem only after 15 minutes and with a $600 bill. Needless to say the same evening the toilet still did not flush and Rooter Plus was notified however Rooter Plus failed to state that they would send a plumber back out. I then receive a text message at 7:02 am informing me that I have an outstanding bill with Rooter Plus and they have been trying to reach me. My home has never received any services from Rooter Plus, of course I called and informed Michelle of this issue and she was very rude and wanted to keep placing me on hold for a bill that did not belong to me. I also reiterated that my boss still has the plumbing issue why they are trying to collect on the outstanding bill from yesterday. Of course the remaining issue fail on deaf ears at this Rooter Plus. I called I have someone one out. For my hot water heater. They told me they have somebody out this afternoon after 1 o'clock. Someone called me at 1:45 and told me they were waiting for a technician to finish up a job but somebody would be out here this afternoon. I called back at 4 o'clock and said is somebody still going to come here? Oh yes they'll be somebody here don't worry we didn't forget about you. Now at 6 o'clock and they call me and tell me that no one can come out today I've been sitting home all damn day For them to tell me they can't come out. I had rooter plus come out to drain septic tank brought a backhoe in to dig up drive way ran over mailbox then started to dig first dig tore up main water line found waterline a foot off next to septic tank. after shutting water off finished digging, then tells me that septic tank is full and needs all extra stuff to treat ground and septic tank. Not knowing about septick tanks I went ahead and had work performed 4000 dollars. Was told had to call in plumber to replace main water line 4000 dollars router plus plumber came out 2 days later because of rain water shut off 3 days. as digging trench for main water line tore out fibber optics to home 3 weeks to get repaired. After all this met with pre. owner of property septic tank was cleaned the year before called septic tank manufacture found that septic tanks run full. ????? After fact i have cont. dirt running in water lines. Im scared to call them for the fact that I singed a waiver and ill be miss led again. The crew sent out to pump my septic tank was comprised of a person to do the work and someone (supervisor) to try and sell expensive additional services. Anyway, tank pumped and concrete sidewalk slab that covers part of the septic tank riser was dropped back in place incorrectly (couple of inched skewed from the sidwalk). The supervisor would not lift a finger to reposition the slab due to a number of reasons (excuses). So they could remove the slab, but replacing it correctly was my problem. I was not happy with this, let the supervisor know it and his manager back at the office know it. I had to do it by myself, after they left, using a long pry bar and some brain power. Took me 10 minutes to properly replace the slab. read more

We had a huge issue where our outside faucet broke off and water was gushing out of the side of our house. Rooter Plus! came to the rescue. I had called several plumbers ahead of this. They were the first who actually answered. Once we were in the queue, they were really great on proving updates on ETA and when the plumber was en route to our house. Once he came, he was able to quickly and skillfully fix the issue, crawling into the nasty crawl space to figure out the problem. Bless him for that. Ended up being less money than I was expecting. He quoted a price and it ended up being about $50 less than quote once all said and done. Hopefully I don't need a plumber again, but if I do, I'm using Rooter Plus! again, fo sho. read more

We were buying a house and had Rooters scheduled to come out Thursday to pump and inspect the septic. They pushed back to Friday morning, but we understood they were busy. They never came in the 4 hour time slot they gave Friday so we kept calling them throughout the day and they kept saying their tech is wrapping up his last job and will be on his way to our property. We called again at 4pm and they said they have to reschedule to Sunday which is past our due diligence period because all the techs got approved for all-day jobs. They have serious scheduling issues or problems with their systems and processes to let stuff like this happen. The communication was poor as well. read more

Well I must say I'm always skeptical of calling plumbers because I feel as though they'll get over on us. I can now put that fear aside with this company. My septic was backing up in house, called these guys who were totally professional. Jon P ( service tech ) came out in uniforms, large truck with every piece of equipment needed for the job. He explained every step of the process, did not start job until we had a final cost, no surprises . Ended up main line was just clog. He fixes problem also changed filter and gave us a fair price with one year warranty and told us the date we should have septic pumped which is 2 years from now. We now have piece of mind. Then, they kept pushing the time back . Finally, at around 6:00 p.m., too late for me to call another plumber, they said that they would have to come tomorrow. I moved into a new home and decided to have the septic tank checked out. I called Rooter Plus and was told the price was $195 to come and check it out. I told the technician the house was vacant for a while and just wanted to be sure every thing was ok because I was putting in a garbage disposal. I also talked to their telephone operator and she assured me there would be no extra charges. After digging a giant hole in my lawn I was told that they needed to use extra hoses at $35 each. They needed 3 extra hoses to get to the back of my house. The technician showed me the sludge in my tank and said that because the house had been vacant for a while there was excessive sludge. Remember I told him it had been vacant. I asked if they could just take out what was in there and he said no. They are charged by the amount of sludge they take out and I was supposedly over their maximum. When I was presented with the bill it was $514.25. I told him that was outrageous and was not going to pay it. He said any other company would charge $200 more than his bill. In exasperation I decided to just pay it and get them off of my property. I told the technician I would find out the truth and if he was lying to me, which I strongly suspected, I would turn them in to the BBB, Yelp, and any body else who takes complaints. I had my septic tank pumped out last month for the first time (house is 10 years old) and had an ok experience. I knew it was going to cost more than the $159 to pump my 1000 gallon tank due to so many years of no service. All in all they charged me around $550 just to pump the tank and extra lines to pump with. They never offered any extra services or said I needed to replace anything.  This week my female neighbor that lives alone and is older asked about my septic service. Her house being smaller and only one person living there for 10 years I told her it should be around the price I paid or less.  I gave her the referral and they came out the same day. Hours later I get a call from her crying about how much she had to spend because so much was wrong with the septic tank. WHAT! I got her to explain what all they charged for and later that night she showed me the bill. Being smart she was taking pictures the whole time they were at her property and what the tank looked like and even the filter. Looking at the pictures of everything her tank was in much better shape than mine was. So I was floored that they took advantage of an older woman for over $2600! To break it down they charged her for a brand new filter and had to replace the pvc pipe for the new filter to fit. This was an over $400 charge when they just took a water hose to mine. Next was to pump her drain field out for over $300. Why? They didnt offer me this service. Then came the whopper of a oxidizerPlus treatment that would clean her drain field for over $1600. None of the services they told her she needed were offered to me...why?  I feel horrible I gave her a referral for a company that would take advantage of a older lady that lives alone. I needed to write this to help other people find out how horrible this company is. We are having issues with plumbing and I called Rooter Plus Friday night and they told me they would come Saturday morning to look at it. A serviceman came out and told us the septic tank needed to be pumped. At 8:29am Saturday morning we scheduled an appt for Sunday between 10-2. At 2:15 I called and was told the tech was still on a call but would call when he is on his way. At 4:00 the office called to tell me the tech was approved for a bigger job and sorry they wouldn't be out today. So we can't shower or use the bathroom in our house now for 2 days straight because rooter plus doesn't keep their word! I just needed my Anode rod to be replaced in my water heater. It is at most a 30 minute work. The plumber wanted $300 which is outrageous. When I asked why that much just to change one part and he did not like my question. The technician walked out of me and told me to do it by myself. What a great customer service!!! Then I called the main office and talked to a plumbing manager to complain. With great surprise, he also did not care at all and was laughing at me in the phone when I told him what the technician told me. I asked for the manager's name he did not wanted to give me his name. Had another company come out and repaired a broken pipe leading into the tank. They advised me that Rooter Plus needed to come back and complete the work. I had a high water level alarm go off on my septic pump tank over the weekend. I determined the pump in fact went out, it was 10 years old and improperly installed. Chris came out Monday i told him I needed both tanks pumped (2500 gl total) a new pump, float switch and alarm switch. and to rewire everything on a post. initially he quoted me 4100 i told him i had to think about it but wanted both tanks pumped in the mean time. he cam back with 3400. i had nether the time nor desire to play in crap for a day or two so i said do it. cost breakdown for the three major parts item cost internet cost pump w/float-switch $1650 most expensive pump i found was $800 2" pvc check valve $490 most expensive $55 alarm float $525 most expensive $56 I'm not against paying a fare price but the markup on this was a ripoff, needless to say do your home work http://www.septictankparts.com and http://www.septictankparts.com are a great resource if you want to do it yourself. had I the time, i would have done it myself and saved about 2000. read more

I am having a difficult time with how to put into words about this company. I was always told to start with the positive. They came on time. According to the receipt the draining of the 1,000 gallon tank was only 150.00. The work was done efficiently. That is where the positive comments end. Step by step this employee did tell my husband what he was doing or going to do, but once the septic tank is open the homeowner is between a rock and a hard place. It is not like you can say...stop I need a second opinion. Yes there is always unexpected problems but we were never told about what problems could occur and if so how much it might cost if we have them Like a checklist or work order with all the things possible and costs. That way he can show the homeowner the form The company needs to show the homeowner what you found and the homeowner can see the cost. This person just put down a whole bunch of codes and fees after the fact. The price went from 150.00 to 450.00 to over 4500.00 and yet we pad over 6,000.00. For instance you will be charged 550.00 just for them entering the tank. Then 550.00 to take off valve and 450 to put it back on. That is over 1500.00 for less than 15 min of work. Who pays money just for a waitress to come to your table then pay for food then pay separately for using the table and cleanup.
