Juan came out to clear our backed up tub. He gave it a try and then said he was afraid he would break our metal pipes. Huh? They aren't metal that go out to the street. He said that we would need the hydro clean and that was $750 with $500 deposit. Today we had another plumber come out and actually clear out the pipes and saved ourselves at least $500. Don't appreciate when you try to up sell. I do hope this was a fluke, but I won't be keeping their business card. Last October, I was in the Midwest for my wedding anniversary. I received a call from the person staying in my house that the sewer pipes were clogged. I asked him to call a plumber to have the line cleared. The next day, Saturday, the plumber called me to inform me that thy were unable to clear the line. They recommended that they replace the entire sewer pipe network under my house as it was really old, (76 years). Their cost estimate was $9250.00 I was not in a position to interrupt my anniversary to fly back and get estimates for comparison purposes. They assured me that there were no other options. I asked them to let me know what caused the blockage and the location of the blockage. I agreed to their offer and they had the payment by Tuesday. When I arrived home about ten days later, I checked the cleanout and could tell that it had been excavated to the base. I checked the high end clean out and it was clear that they had not removed and replaced ALL of the pipes. I crawled under the house and checked all of the new pipes, which seemed ok, however there were 7 or 8 lengths of old pipe (approx. 25 - 30 linear feet) still laying around. After cleaning up I checked the contract. All pipes shall be replaced and old the old pipes will be removed and hauled away. I checked their web site and saw that there was another option called hydro-jetting, which was not an option that was offered to me. I called them. It did not go well. If you are reading this, looking for a plumber, do yourself and all others in the area a big favor, and keep looking. Beware of this company. They are predatory plumbers and we should not let these type of businesses take advantage of people that are in situations such as mine. read more

I needed my main line snaked and this happened every 5-7 years. I was surprised to get a quote of 49 dollars since no one else would do it cheaper than 200. First person came out and tried to snake it with a straight spring which is good for clearing paper, baby wipes, and maybe will pull out some roots. I asked if they could use a half cutter to cut out the roots and really clean it out properly. First person said no that he was afraid the cutter works get stuck and really ruin the pipe (first red flag). He said the pipe would have to be hydro flushed which cost 900 bucks. So he called his supervisor (Daniel) to bring out the hydro machine and they hydro jetted the line 900 bucks. Then he said the line was completely destroyed from two points and no way it would drain. Even tried to show me with their camera that the line was clogged and with the hand held metering system where the clogs was. So now Daniel said to fix is they would dig down and replace a 3-4 ft section 2500 dollars, but he recommended replacing the whole main line 50 ft and that would cost 9k. And he said it like no biggie a drop in the bucket and I'm making you a great deal. I said no that's way too much by this time I was getting a real bad feeling about this guy and paid 900 for the hydro jetting and sent them in their way. Later I read in some of the other reviews that some people had experience the same pipe blockage and paid up to 11k for the job and was pleased with their service. Back to my pipes after the two guys left I went into the house and everything flushed drained perfectly!!! With nothing else done two repair the clog I even washed two loads of laundry with no back up or issue. It's now 4 days pass and my plumbing is draining with no issues. All it needed was a good 49 dollar snaking which I could have done myself renting a home Depot snake for 50 bucks but because I'm older now and my back was not could I thought I would call this company to do it and save my back. To anyone reading this if you use this company be leary of some very shady practice by their employees. I'm copying and pasteing this review to each Rooterman branch hoping the owner or upper management will reach out to me and offer me a refund of my 900 minus 49 for the initial cost. This is the best plumbing company we have ever hired after living in our house for 51 years. Goettl charges $80 and they were going to take 11 days to come out here. The other company we called came out and wouldn't honor a coupon I had for $89. They were going to charge us $214 so we told them no and the left. Had a terrible experience, our sink was clogged and the representative said the piping in the back was not large enough, he cut the wall and replaced a couple of pipes for larger ones, he said it would be 3,500.00 for the work, and had to pay 50% up front, my husband gave me a credit card and he said he charge de full amount by mistake. then after he said more work was needed and it would cost another 6,500.00 I then told him I would contact the insurance and he insisted on doing it and give me a receipt to send to the insurance. When I attempted to clarify their services and the name of the company "Express Plumbing", a "sister company", they terminated the call when I expressed my frustration about the poor customer service on the phone. I did not use foul or abusive language. When a customer calls about a drain or plumbing problem, it is a stressful situation. The customer service agent should have the basic skill set to listen and answer questions as needed to avoid confusion about the services available and to problem solve the customer's concern. An inspection of main sewer line revealed tree root blockage, cracked clay pipe leading out to water main and blistered cast iron pipe leading into house. My neighbors hired Rooter Man for similar problem and I was able to observe their work next door. They did a great job. As a result, I decided to hire them as well. Rooter Man technicians used trenchless technology to repair both pipes and also install two way clean out valves. They finished within two days time, put everything back in place, and left front yard as they found it. Superintendent Daniel handled inspection, quote, and oversaw work. Technician Jacob and associate handled pipe access and valve work. They were joined by another team of two technicians who installed pipe sleeve and resin. I found everyone to be very professional and competent. I was informed of process every step of the way. I really appreciated the timeliness, communication, conscientiousness, and courteousness. I had a plumber come out and snake my drain but they told me that they could not go past the drop that goes to my main drain and they left. 2 weeks later at 11:30 at night I had a backup in my Tub. The next day I called out Rooterman Plumbing and Eric C. came out inspected it and determined that the drop had corroded so badly that the drop was clogged to the point of needing replacing. Eric called his boss for the price which seemed fair at the time and Eric started work immediately. When he was done, Eric showed me the pipe he removed which was completely clogged with rust and debris. The best part of calling Rooterman was Eric.
