If I can give zero stars I would. I sent my throw pillows here to be dry cleaned. My throw pillows were white and when i picked them up they were BURNED. They had burn stains on them. When I complained he proceeded to tell me that I brought them in like that, when I clearly did NOT. I requested a refund, he asked to try to fix them, I was so angry I just stated I wanted my money back. He was nice enough to refund me, which is maybe why Im even giving him a star. Deserves more stars then available! I walked in around 3pm on the Friday (2 days before Halloween). I had a costume party the very next day and needed straps added to my outfit by noon. My outfit was metallic gold and the owner and I were trying to determine what we could use that would closely match. He Facetimed his wife to get her opinion as she does the alterations. She didn't have an immediate answer, but he indicated he would be willing to go buy fabric to match if we needed to. He was SO kind, accommodating and professional. We ended up being able to use a part of the existing costume to make the straps. He turned it around by 9am the very next day. I have taken some dresses/skirts/tops to be altered (I'm small!) several times last summer. Never had an issue with what was altered. The Owner was very professional and courteous too. I will definitely keep going back to get my clothing altered there. Their pricing is comparable to what is charged in the South Loop. Not cheap, but not any worse than the competition either. A cobbler AND a dry cleaner in the same place? Done, done and done! Dry cleaning for two skirts was $12 (it's highway robbery sometimes, being a woman) and a few days ago when my like-new winter boots popped a zipper slider, I freaked out. See, it was cold outside, a bit snowy, and I couldn't get my foot in the thing as it was stuck in the up position. The next day I calmed it down, took the wonky boot over to Roosevelt and had them take a look. The sweet man at the counter slid a safety pin into the catch and the zipper came right down. "$12 for a new slider", he said. I stood there for a moment and contemplated walking around in the cold and snow with a safety pin slider instead of a proper one and decided to bite the bullet. $12 seems a bit steep, but replacing the zipper or the boots entirely would be much, much more. They're nice, they're fast and they're open later so you can stop by after work to pick up your goods. Fan. read more

I wish I could give them ten stars for multiple jobs well done! ;) This is my go to place for alterations and repairs. Unfortunately, as a short and curvy woman it's difficult for me to find pants in my size even petite pants are too long, so to have that tailored and polished look I need alterations of my pants and suit jackets every time I make a purchase. :( First, the owner of the business is professional and communicates everything up front, so you know what he's charging for with realistic expectations of what it will look like afterwards. I also did a price comparison of all cleaners in the Printers Row & Loop neighborhood and his pricing is the best! He was several dollars cheaper and with a much faster turn around time for my alternations. Have an important meeting, interview, wedding and need the clothing back in a couple of days well, this is the place for you! Lastly, the whole transaction was very quick from the measurements to the pick up they were able to exceed my expectations! I've honestly never dropped a suit off and had my measurements done so quickly and was out of the door in no time. This is a review on the shoe repair service. I dad taken in some old(er) scuffed up swede cowboy boots to get re-soled. Not only did they put beautiful new soles on them, they did some magic on some major scuffs and wear I had that I didn't even request or thought you could repair. Boots look good as new. I paid $55, which gave me a bit of sticker shock but I had not gotten the quote when I dropped them off so not sure if that is the going rate? But based on the workmanship, i don't think i could have found a better repair place even is it was $10-$15 cheaper. Very Very happy with the results read more

I really wanted to find a great cleaners close to home and unfortunately, this wasn't the one. My sweater was returned to me with the same stain on it. I pointed it out to Blanca and she was beyond rude. Maybe, because I was interrupting her personal cell phone call by nicely asking her to redo my sweater. Blanca rolled her eyes at me, cut me off mid-sentence and snapped, we already tried twice. This was my first time trying this cleaners and my first request to re-clean my sweater. However, this employee who was unconcerned about me, my stain, or my sweater, unconvincingly told me they already tried. I will never patronize this business again and perhaps some customer service training is in order here. read more

DON'T GO HERE!! I made the BIG mistake of taking my wedding dress here to get cleaned. I paid $120 and the dress was ruined!! The bodice of the dress is silk and started off very soft and shiny. Now it's coarse and textured. It looks like a completely different fabric. I wanted to sell my dress and now can't. The guy that owns the place was completely rude. He actually said that most wedding dresses get damaged and that if I had told him I was going to sell it he never would have touched it. Needless to say I'm very upset that my $2000 wedding gown is ruined. I've consulted lawyers but basically dry cleaners are hardly ever held accountable for damage to garments. I just hope to warn other brides so you don't have to experience what I did. read more

Went to Roosevelt Cleaners for shoe repair on a pair of my wife's high heels... The did a very nice job with a quick turnaround. Only downside was the cost. Not sure what the going rate is on a retread but $25 seemed a bit on the high side. read more

Owner (male) and associate (female) are always very friendly, remember their regular customers, and are organized. I miss the 10% discount that was offered if you pre-paid for your items. If I hadn't relocated, I would be continuing to use this as my go-to cleaners. All of my garments have always been returned in excellent, clean condition along with affordable prices for the several times I've had zippers or buttons repaired from my regular wear and tear. I trusted them to clean my wedding dress and they were able to restore it back to it's pristine ivory color, despite the black stains I had left on it from dragging the bottom against the city streets at the end of my wedding night. My dress and intricately beaded sash are uniquely textured which increased the cost of cleaning and totaled about $200 (doesn't include price of preservation/boxing). read more

I brought my boots in because the heel on one of them fell off. I asked for a price upfront, only $25, and came back a week later (I could have come back sooner but I didn't need them so I told him to take his time). He not only repair my broken heel but replaced the other heel to be sure they matched. He also cleaned the boots. I will take all of my shoe repairs here in the future! read more

DO NOT get shoes repaired at this place - Roosevelt Cleaners. We were misled that they could do the repair and the owner (think his name is Mr Aziz) said they would be able to replace the heels for $18. Anyway, I got the shoes, took them home and we realized that NOTHING was done and he still charged me! Still beat up heels. We are trying to resolve things, will keep everyone updated once we hear back...but for now, I would say avoid this place at all costs and visit one of the many surrounding shoe repair options instead. read more

Terrible service and even worse customer service. I dropped off a pair of pumps to be fixed, and was told that the heel would be replaced and some other marks on the shoe would be repaired. When the shoes were picked up, I realized that nothing was done to them! They were not repaired and the heels certainly had not been replaced. I called and spoke with the owner who told me that he never told me that he would replace the heel. That was a blatant lie, and furthermore, when I asked for my money back he yelled at me that this was my fault for not understanding him. And when I say yell, I mean yell - he screamed at me over the phone and would not let me even get a word in. This continued as I explained to him that he did nothing to my shoes so I don't want to be charged by him. He wasn't having it - he just continued screaming on the phone to the point where I had to hang up on him. My whole experience with this place was TERRIBLE and I would never do business here again, nor do I recommend anyone else doing so. Stay away - there are much better places to go to in this area - this guy is a scam artist. read more

I would give this place ZERO stars if possible. I took my coat in to have the buttons tightened on my trench coat. I picked it up a few days later and left it in the dry cleaning bag. Two days later I attempt to put the coat on and I realize it is NOT MY COAT! So I call the dry cleaner and he tells me to bring the coat in. The next day I bring the coat in and the owner tells me that he's never made this mistake in 28 years. He then proceeds to yell and scream at me and call me a liar. He accused me of taking someone else's coat from a party and trying to blame him. Moral of the story. DO NOT TAKE YOUR THINGS HERE! You will not get back the things that you dropped off. The owner will take no interest in fixing the problem and he will call you a liar and tell you he doesn't make mistakes. Looks like my next stop is the better business bureau. read more

The worst Dry Cleaners in the City! My incident started after I had been using this cleaners for over 4 years. Around the third year of using this store I started to notice that my sweaters were coming back with small holes on the front. Each sweater that was damaged would always have the same unique pattern of holes on the front. When I returned them to the store the owner would repair the sweaters as best he could - of course I always paid for these repairs as I never put it together that his machine was damaging my clothes. Finally I received an order that contained 12 sweaters that had been dry cleaned. When I got them home I checked and this time I noticed that the sweaters had large holes on the front in the same unique pattern of my other sweaters. This lot was seriously damaged. When I went back to the store to show the owner the damage his machine had caused he denied everything! He refused to help me in any way and asked me to leave. I asked how it could be that every sweater he dry cleaned had holes only on the front, and in the same exact pattern on each sweater. Having damaged several thousand dollars in sweaters I will never return to this Dry Cleaners. I would suggest that anyone that uses this cleaners thoroughly examine their clothing BEFORE they leave the store. Good Luck Roosevelt Cleaners! read more

Simple and effective dry cleaner with fair prices.

I needed a jacket to be repaired and pressed. My go to tailor/dry cleaner was closed, so I popped in here as it was nearby. The repair needed was a bit of stitching in the lining. They asked for 4 days to complete the job. I gave them 5 days. The fellow had trouble finding the jacket after I presented the ticket. He finally found it. Upon getting home, repair was done but jacket was not pressed. I was billed for repair and press. Unfortunately not worth my time to go back and speak to them - but worth it to warn others - do please avoid these guys. read more
