My partner and I visited Room Number 13 located inside Escape Hotel on October 3rd for the magic show, and it was truly an unforgettable night! From the moment we stepped inside, the 1920s ambiance swept us away -- a perfect blend of romance and mystery, with Frank Sinatra's smooth voice drifting through the air like a spell. I ordered the Lychee Express, which was beautifully balanced and refreshing, while my partner went classic with an Old Fashioned -- perfectly mixed and rich in flavor. For dinner, I had the Shrimp Scampi (absolutely delicious!) and my partner went with the Burger, which was equally impressive. The magic show itself was fun and engaging to the audience-- the performers are not only talented but fully committed to the atmosphere, making the entire experience feel immersive and theatrical. Fun date night and definitely not my last visit!

Food: 3/5 Service: 3/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Parking: 2/5 Family friendly: 2/5 Stroller friendly: NA/5 ADA accessible: ??/5 GOOD: Chill ambiance and love entertainment was excellent. There was a trio playing jazzy/Poppy/ funk music with a Amy Winehouse sounding singer, sax player and keyboardist. Since it was Roaring 20's themed night, see people were dressed to the 9's. Drinks were great and perfectly crafted. Espresso martini $19. Basically all cocktails were $19. OK: Food is decent, but a bit on the pricey side; after all we are in Hollywood. We ended up ordering Mushroom risotto $26 was creamy and had good flavor but the risotto was a bit overcooked and mushy. Wife ordered blackened salmon $36 that a bit small but packed a flavor punch. I think my favorite thing we ordered was the Italian style meatballs $18 made with beef, bison and lamb. Had a bit of the gamey lamb taste but decent. Service was ok as well. We had to remind our waiter about water and utensils a couple of times, however. Oh and BTW, 20% is AUTOMATICALLY added to your bill that they don't tell you in the beginning, so that seems to be a new trend. Although this has nothing to do with Room Number 13 itself, it is part of the experience, I feel. Parking is off-site and we found one for $25, but had to walk about 1-2 blocks. Definitely not a kid friendly place (the Restaurant/lounge area) but the escape room might be good for teens. For my ADA friends, I'm sure there is an elevator somewhere in the building, but it'll be a tight squeeze trying to maneuver around the restaurant up top. Overall not bad. Since I live outside of LA and Hollywood it took me about 80 min to get here and same to get back. So I don't think I'd make the trek out again, but if you're in the area I'd give them a look!

I spent my pre-birthday dinner here with a friend and I had a really great time. I really loved my mushroom risotto and my friend got the duck with berries. It was very tasty. I really enjoyed the Frank Sinatra show and the guy singing. I forgot his name unfortunately but I really liked that. He was taking request for songs and I liked the ambience and how everything was set up very nice. I'm definitely planning to come back.

For my birthday, my girlfriends treated me to the Grand Illusion Magic Show, and it was a fantastic experience! We attended the 9:30 pm show on a Friday night. The admission fee was $20 per person, along with a minimum consumption requirement. While the food at the venue wasn't anything extraordinary, the main event was the show itself! Without giving away any spoilers, I can promise you that there were incredible tricks and plenty of opportunities for audience participation. Please note: no pics or video recording of the acts. The venue itself was engaging, with a spooky haunted hotel theme, escape rooms, and the staff being fully immersed in the act. Just a heads up, though - there is a jump scare in one of the women's bathroom stalls, so be prepared for that! Overall, it was a memorable and exciting birthday celebration, and I highly recommend checking out the Grand Illusion Magic Show for a unique experience! There is easy garage parking with security right next door called Cherokee & Hollywood Parking Garage.

Food and service a 10 my kids brought me here for an incredible dinner and Show and it was better than expected. We also did an escape room while we were here, but we didn't do so well there very hard escape room.

My friends invited us out on a Saturday to celebrate our Birthday and this place was brilliant. (Sidebar: This is inside a Mock Hotel, the downstairs consists of several Horror themed Escape Rooms. So there's this guy down there yelling and scaring people all night. It's an interesting combo) We head upstairs where it's decorated like a 1920s Speakeasy. There's LIVE music and Burlesque like performances. The food was okay but I'd go back for the decor alone. We had great conversations and enjoyed the time with our friends. Gorgeous place to have dinner.

The Food was NOT so great! Most items were undercooked or overcooked. The ambience and the customer service is excellent .

I visited here during Halloween season with some friends. We were looking for drinks. You know me, I love interesting names. I was attracted to the venue because of the name and the exteriorlooked amazing! I wasn't disappointed. Inside had a spooky haunted hotel and speak easy day. They lived up to their, October "full contact experience". We asked a gangster zombie staff member to take our photo. He was a very opinionated, gangster. He stayed in character the entire time. We loved it! Upstairs, we had drinks in the lounge area. It was a sea of red. Red couches and upholstered chairs, even red walls. I tried the Headless Horseman Espresso Martini, and Lemon Drop. The drinks were delicious and a bit pricey. I get it, they have to pay for the venue. They have several live shows. It happened to be Sinatra nite (FYI $20. Admission and minimum 2 items from the menu). The escape rooms ($39-$49 Wow!) are to the rear, near the restrooms. There is a garage parking with security right next door (Cherokee and Hollywood parking garage). As I usually ask, "will I return?" If the escape rooms are as great as the rest of the place...Heck, yeah!

The pasta al limome with shrimp (minus a few shrimps that I had already consumed). Order it!

Best vibe of any bar/lounge on the blvd. A+ to the decorators. Cocktails are really good. Probably the best espresso martini in LA. Haven't tried the full food menu, but had pasta al limone with shrimp. One of the tastiest pasta dishes I've ever had! My favorite time to hang out here is Sinatra Night. Douglas Roegiers is a class act and very entertaining.

It's really pretty on the rooftop plus has a fun vibe with a few wax figures around! Will Smith, James Dean, The Rock, Zendaya, Marilyn Monroe...a bunch of A Listers to dine around! lol! The staff was all so nice and kind here! I was actually really surprised to find such amazing staff at such a tourist type of spot. They were all just so great!!! The other clientele seemed to be coworkers there for happy hour, tourists popping by, then my friend and I! It was a good mix of people hanging out up there. I really liked the vibes. We went during happy hour which had a bunch of drink specials. I had a Mocktail which wasn't on the HH menu but it was so gorgeous and tasty! The Zombie ($12) had Grapefruit, lime juice, black iced tea, tiger's blood and was wonderful. I really appreciate when places put effort into their NA drinks. Also on the HH menu were a few food options and my friend had a $4 Steak Taco which he was happy with. I had the Box Office burger which was incredibly indulgent with A Cajun-spiced patty, balsamic onions, bacon jam, arugula and garlic aioli on a pretzel bun. Plus, they bring a little pan of melted blue cheese which they will pour tableside onto the burger for you. Cute! And I loved the burger. There were also seats at the bar but not enough for our group size. We came in for drinks and food before heading over to TCL Chinese Theatre. We ordered a few drinks and some shareables. The French martini was delicious- it had raspberry liqueur, pineapple juice and vodka. Very refreshing. The wild mushroom tagliatelle was phenomenal the pasta was just right and oh those delicate but powerful herbs, divine! The Japanese sweet potatos were so tender, the sauce that was one them was so yummy, I loved it. The steak & frites were scrumptious, steak was perfectly medium rare and fries were classic. The charcuterie board was so good we got the 3 cheese and 2 meats, everyone enjoyed it. The fresh baguette was crispy on the outside and so soft on the inside, only thing that could have made it better was a little balsamic. Overall wonderfully surprised by the lobby bar on a Tuesday night.

With dishes from Shirley Brasserie available all day, it's the perfect spot to enjoy everything from light bites to seasonal plates, surrounded by the warmth of the historic fireplace and the charm of this iconic setting." -- from The Roosevelt Hotel's website. Shirley Brasserie, the restaurant referred to above, is also located in The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel (located next to The Lobby). The "iconic" they refer to is the fact that this hotel is historic -- it was built in 1926 during the Golden Era of Los Angeles architecture. It is named after Theodore Roosevelt. The first Academy Awards (Oscars) was held here in 1929. The hotel had its ups and downs since then but currently it looks beautiful and thriving. Take your out-of-state visiting friends/relatives to this place. Because this is a big part of "Hollywood". I recommend The Lobby to hang out after a long day's work or after a nice dinner nearby. This is where my sister and I went after our dinner at Musso and Frank. My sister ordered their Espresso Martini which was really good. I had a beer. Our server wasn't as warm as the ones during my visit in 2023. I think she was an introvert or a bit of a nervous person. But she did not seem potentially horrible. Restroom: I did not go to the restroom this time. I think there was a line. But I remember back in 2023 that you had to ask for a key or a code. Which is understandable for this area. Parking: I recommend the valet parking. If validated, the fee is really reasonable (I forgot how much they charged). We got ours validated because we ordered those drinks from The Lobby.

We ended up going to Lemon Grove at the Astor hotel, which was an incredible experience. I had never heard of this joint prior to dining there. After posting my review and pictures, I got a very nice response from the manager on Monday and then on Tuesday two very dear friends who are twins invited me to their birthday party that Friday night at the Lemon Grove where one of the sister's daughters is the DJ. We had half of the entire roof for a great party with wonderful friends meeting new people, some DJing and dancing and a marvelous server who remembered not only my name from the prior Sunday, but also that I was gluten intolerant and brought me a menu I could select from while she was taking care of over 50 people. And as you can tell I am so shy and demure to boot. She was fantastic, and the food I ordered: GF Lemon Pasta and 1/2 dozen oysters while sharing the Brussels Sprouts, were all superb. However, the reason I'm giving 2 stars is because of the valet parking experience. First, I was charged $25 even though the sign clearly stated that valet parking is $17 for the first 3 hours, and $25 after 3 hours. Our reservation was at 6:30 PM, we arrived on time, and we left before 9 PM, so the charge did not make sense. When I asked the valet attendant, he kept saying, "because you dined there," without giving any clear explanation. If it is actually a flat rate for restaurant guests, then that should be clearly stated upfront to customers. Second, when I got into my car, I noticed that someone had touched the navigation settings because the compass direction and display were different from what I normally use. I do not understand why there was any need to adjust or touch my navigation system at all. I really think the restaurant needs to improve and better manage its valet parking system. Honestly, it felt like I was being charged a random price just because I was told, "you dined there." If there is a flat valet rate for restaurant guests, that information should be clearly communicated upfront instead of leaving customers confused at the end.
