This intimate social clubhouse and rooftop bar makes cocktails, games, and snacks feel fresh, fun, and totally unpretentious. From the playful decor to the creative drinks, Rook doesn't take itself too seriously and that's exactly why you'll love it. They just opened on May 21st, so if you're looking for a new hangout to close out your Memorial Day weekend, or honestly any weekend (or weekday), this is it. what we tried: Frozen Espresso Martini with whipped coffee topper Electric Avenue: Mount Gay Rum, banana, pineapple, bitters, spices, lime Born Under Punches: white wine, Tanqueray, cantaloupe, cucumber, lime, soda Take On Me: Dickel Rye, brandy, shrub, pineapple, honey, mint Athletic Brewing 'Upside Dawn' (N/A golden ale) Rook Dog with mustard & relish Grilled Cheese Walking Taco best bites & sips: I have officially declared frozen espresso martinis the drink of the summer, s lol thank you, Rook. The Born Under Punches cocktail also blew me away. Cantaloupe is such an underrated flavor and it shines here. You can never go wrong with grilled cheese, but the Walking Taco stole the show for me. Honestly, every place should serve one. Make some time to swing by this weekend since they've got special holiday hours and all the good vibes. I'll see you there!

Revamped rooftop area of the catbird hotel is a winner for sure! Unique decor inspired by vintage Colorado artifacts, this is the perfect spot to sip on a frozen cocktail inside or out. They have pool and board games, as well as small bites like grilled cheese and walking tacos. Fun spot for a date or girls night!

Great location but it was dead on a Friday night. They were having a comedy event on a portion of the rooftop lounge which was fun! The drinks were awesome but there was only one bartender so it did take awhile to get drinks.

Found this hidden little gem inside & on the rooftop of Catbird Hotel called The Red Barber. The vibes are chill and relaxing. On Sundays they started a brunch from 12-2pm. The DJ is spinning great House to put everyone in a trance with chill vibes almost feels very Vegas pool day energy. The bartender was very friendly, fast and efficient. My crew loved this place. All the food coming out looked fantastic. The next warm/hot Sunday we will definitely be back.

If you want a bar with a view, this is it. If you want a bar that has a lot of wait staff, this isn't it. Our bartender was super friendly but seemed to be the only staff member on hand. We went to the bar to retrieve our own drinks and food. We did appreciate him bringing us a birthday shot and his apologies for being short staffed. Great views of the city from this rooftop bar. Zodiac drinks were flavorful. Watch out! The Cancer is spicy.

Visited around 7pm on a Tuesday night and nearly had the place to ourselves (inside). The patio looked really cool, but there was an outdoor odor (Purina factory?) that kept us in the furthest corner from the open patio doors. The drinks: I ordered the Froze, and my husband ordered some tropical frozen cocktail. I really enjoyed my drink; the flavors were robust and balanced between sweet and tangy. My husband didn't love his choice, it was too sugary. The staff: meh. Not rude, but didn't seem to like their job or customers too much either. The ambiance: interesting, detailed, has a view, and worth coming back for! The extras: I loved that they had games to play (we opted for the Oregon Trail card game and died immediately), and I also appreciated the retro, pink tiled bathroom.

This is an awesome place for a night out in Denver. It's on the 6th floor of a hotel and takes up the whole rooftop. The majority is outside but there's enough indoor space if that's your preference. The layout is very fun with grass, plants, sculptures, bags, jenga, and private & group seating. They even have a couple hot tubs up there which are available during certain hours. The view is excellent as you can see virtually 360 degrees. It was a casual feel and wasn't crowded at all. There's a unique selection of mixed drinks which were all made very well. This seems like one of those hidden gems in a city.

We came on a Saturday afternoon and it was great! They just opened when we had arrived so it was not crowded which we loved. The rooftop bar was very enjoyable with a great view. They has games for you to play and water stations available inside and outside which was very much needed since it was so hot. Their drink selection was limited but creative. The drinks were created based on horoscope signs and were premade so it did not take long to get them. They do have both indoor and outdoor seating if you decided you want to enjoy the Sun or stay cool. Staff was friendly.

For being at the top of a random hotel, we actually end up on this rooftop patio eating and drinking quite a bit. There's a gorgeous view, the foods a little expensive but always quality, and the cocktails are on the nicer end of the spectrum. There's definitely been times where it feels like they're understaffed for how busy it gets, but even then the staff is always great.

Some girlfriends and I were psyched to come by for Thursday evening drinks and some food. I want to preface this with it seems like the spot just opened, which means brand new staff, trying out new computer systems, and working out the other kinks. I'm hopeful that in a few months this place will be running smoothly. What we liked: we loved the views and that the rooftop had a decent amount of seating, fire pits, and space in general. The staff were also super friendly and were really trying. There was a decent selection of cocktails and different types of food for - something for everyone. Things that could be improved: The ordering system was our main problem. We couldn't order food/drinks and after trying to order a second time we just went to the bar. I was able to get a drink, but the rest of our party were told to order from the table, but since the ordering system wasn't working, that wasn't possible. After waiting a bit, we walked over to front of house staff to place the order on the main computer. Some of us had double charges on our cards or incorrect charges, but we were told it would cancel out since it was pending, but some were double charged. We also had to send back the fondue because it was too watery too eat and some of the small plates felt a little pricy for what the items were. It would also be awesome to have more tables/places to set food by the couches to make it easier to eat and drink. I'm definitely going to come back again in a few weeks to see if the issues are worked out because I genuinely believe it has some awesome potential. I also want to reiterate that the staff were trying really hard and were very thoughtful. I'm sure I will be updating this review to a higher number soon.

Arrived promptly at 2pm - stated opening time. Seems they weren't ready to be open, still finishing up tasks and not wanting to engage with any guests. We sat for a few minutes at a table before going to order at the bar. We were met with an incredibly rude off putting attitude of the bartender. Why start off the day so angry? And why take it out on customers? Our espresso martini was laughable at best. The only saving grace is the froze was really good and had a nice consistency and flavor. Ultimately between the bad attitude, no music, and our table area smelling like sewage, we hightailed it out of there. Won't return.

I don't know what's up with these bad reviews. The place is amazing! You mainly get great downtown views and little of the mountains. The rooftop is huge with ample seating options. Lot of greenery and cool furniture. The staff was really nice and drinks were great! Though some areas don't have coverage so on sunny days, bring a hat! I'll be coming here in the summer!!

He gave us recommendations and was proud of how much food we ordered between two asian women. The affirmation paired well with the food. Our favorite was the Clambasa. I was worried the kielbasa would overpower the littleneck clams but it was perfect together. You can taste all the ingredients in the dish well. The bone marrow was gone before I could take a picture---rightfully so. But the horseradish mustard blew my mind. The ONLY reason I'm not raving anout the Shuba salad is because a good friend of mine makes it so much better. No skin off of Molotov's back at all, homemade at custom to me will always win. The quail was a disappointing. I didn't notice that the sauce was listed as BBQ. I could not taste the quail. By the time the Porchetta came, we were readilly full...but that didn't matter. Crisp, fatty and flavorful. I recommend the horseradish horilka for all the dishes. Lastly, the pistachio blintz. "Not too sweet," is the Asian's highest praise to any dessert and this deserves it. LOVELY and light. A perfect end to a rich and savory dinner. And no, do not pair this with the horseradish horlike (just in case you were wondering). For this visit, my sister and I decided to sit in the patio area and sit under their local resident regular, the squirell in the tree (his name is Vlad, but his street name is Chad). But next time, I would op to sit inside. It is very cozy with PLENTY of things for your eyes to scrutinize. The first visit was not enough to take everything in, both visually and gastricly (no more room left). A repeat visit is warranted and highly recommended.
