After two visits, I would NOT recommend going here if you have complex jaw issues. My issue is that my discs are displaced and locked, not just that my muscles are sore bc of clenching and griding. Went I first saw Dr. Hoffman, he recommended botox in my masseters and temples. He also recommended a repositioning split. The bill that I was given at that appointment included both the botox and the fitting for the splint which was done at the follow up appointment two weeks later. This was well over $1k. At my follow up appointment, the fitting for the splint took only about 30 seconds which I found concerning. Then i got the price for the splint which was $4k. I did not feel comfortable paying this after a 30 second measurement, so I decided to get a second opinion before moving forward. He also told me that he has only treated this in 5% or less of his patients. Overall, I am very unhappy with my experience here. I felt pressured into spending over $1000 on something that was totally unnecessary. I wish he would have been upfront and honest about his ability to treat my issue and recommended that I go somewhere that is more specialized in TMJ problems.

I want to start by saying I rarely leave reviews, but this one feels extra important. Referrals are…read morethe best way to find a great doctor, and I truly want people to be able to find a dentist as good as I did. Dr. Dow has completely changed my view on dentistry. I used to dread going to the dentist, and I had a lot of anxiety around it, but he has completely eased that. Now I actually enjoy going because of him and his team. He goes above and beyond his role to make sure you're not only taken care of, but genuinely comfortable. You can tell he truly cares about you as a patient and as a person - not just as a number or a paycheck. As someone who has had severest of autoimmune disease issues and life altering anxiety a very long time, I've experienced both really great doctors and really disappointing ones. This is actually the first review I've ever left because I think it's important for people to understand the difference... and Dr. Dow is exactly what a doctor should be. I had been searching for a dentist for almost a year after moving to Chicago in 2023, and I'm so glad I didn't settle for anyone else. They are the absolute best. His team even calls after certain exams or procedures just to make sure I'm doing okay... which is honestly unheard of these days. If you're looking for a professional, highly skilled, and incredibly knowledgeable dentist, you've found the right place. And if you want someone who truly values you and your time and goes above and beyond for his patients, this is 100% your doctor. I'm genuinely excited to continue a lifelong partnership with Dr. Dow as my dentist--and you should absolutely do the same. Him and his team are unmatched!

Before the appointment, Seida repeatedly assured me the office would submit a pre-estimate to insurance and only charge me my patient responsibility amount. After multiple calls with my insurance company, it was discovered Brighter Dental had been faxing the paperwork to the wrong number. The issue was finally corrected during a conference call with insurance and the office. Despite the pre-estimate being approved before my appointment, I was told by Seida and Luca that I had to pay the full amount upfront or they would not proceed. Seida claimed no memory of the aforementioned conference call, and I had no choice but to pay or remain untreated and in pain. At my follow-up appointment, insurance had already paid the claim electronically, but the office delayed reimbursing the overpayment and gave conflicting timelines for a refund. They also refused to refund the original credit card and insisted on mailing a check instead. After repeated vague promises and no reimbursement, I was forced to dispute the charge with my credit card company. Due to their refusal to honor the insurance allowed amounts, I overpaid by several hundred dollars. I later received a threatening letter accusing me of fraud because of the charge dispute, even though the office had still not refunded the overpayment at the time of the dispute. This was a disturbing experience.

Please stay away from this office!…read more I called the office in August about a bump on my jaw it was a bit painful and I wasn't sure what it was so I called the dentist to see if they should do X-rays. They said I need to go to urgent care for that. I go to urgent care, they find nothing wrong, I go to my primary doctor they find nothing wrong. Months later it is still there, I have a routine cleaning. They tell me I need a root canal and the bump is from a root canal. They went ahead and quoted me thousands of dollars and made an appt for me with the endodontist for this to happen. I thought this was strange, so I wanted to go see an endodontist somewhere else to get a second option. So I head over to aspen dental, the endodontist took X-rays and a quick check, and said nothing is wrong but it looks like you have an overdue filling that caused your gums to swell. Chicago dental was going to preform a completely unnecessary procedure on me. I told them there is a filling I need done, they saw the images and filled it. I'm not sure if it's a money scan or truly a lack of knowledge. They cost me thousands of dollars telling me in the first place the bump I had was nothing they could deal with when in reality it was just an overdue filling. The front desk staff is very unknowledgeable and never should have let this situation happen.

Let me preface this review by saying that the dentist himself and all the receptionist staff were…read morevery nice. If it wasn't for them, this would be a 1 star review due how rude and condescending the hygienist - Jody was. This was my first time at Bridgeport family dental and I just needed to get a cleaning since my insurance allows for two a year and I'd only had one so far. I usually go to the west loop but I found these guys had great reviews and were much closer to me. Let me get right to the point, my dental hygienist was extremely rude and condescending the entire 45 minute visit. Her tone of voice and the way she would talk were just unbelievable. Let me give you an example. One time while she was cleaning I let her know it was hurting and was a little rough. Some background: I have no problem with the dentist and don't have any nerves. I don't ever get uncomfortable or really feel any pain during a normal cleaning so this in itself was unusual. Jody's response was - "Oh so you DON'T want me to get the tartar out" in an extremely rude tone! Is that seriously how they talk to a patient here? This was just one of many examples. When the dentist came in, I was ready to let him know my experience but Jody was still hovering behind so I decided to write this review instead. I've never been treated like this at a dentist office and I really expected better from a place with so many 5 star reviews. Jody needs some serious training. Suffice to say I'll be going back to my normal dentist after this.
