I had an emergency where one of my tooth appear to be chipped and called numerous places including my own dentist to see if they can fit me in last minute which ended up with no as an answer. I called Dr. Hilary and they told me that they can squeeze me in as long as I had insurance. They were were patience with my incorrect info on my insurance but at the end I was verified. Dr. Cheng was very polite and asked me info about the troubled tooth. He took some x-rays and examined my tooth to tell me not to worry. This was a sigh of relief. Highly recommend Dr. Cheng's Dental clinic located in Chinatown Square. read more

Dr. Diana Cheng, and really the whole staff, have made going to the dentist an enjoyable experience. I have had several dentists in my lifetime, but it wasn't until I went to A Tooth Company that I felt like I had a dentist. I know it sounds like I am making this up, but I truly look forward to my check-ups. I am an inquisitive person, and Dr. Cheng is always happy to answer my questions about dental procedures or expectations. Everyone in the office is so warm and charming, I love it there. Not only are my teeth in the best shape that they have ever been in, but my knowledge of oral health has increased as well. I have had fantastic experiences with the doctors and staff and the Cheng practice. The doctors are very invested in their patient's health and wellbeing. The doctors at the Cheng practice take the time to explain procedures at the patient's level of understanding, and are clear about the alternative courses of care and the likely or potential consequences of not having the procedures done. The doctors, in my experience, are also very skilled and efficient with their procedures. The staff is friendly and helpful, and they are very on top of appointment scheduling, reminders, insurance, and billing. Overall, I have been extremely pleased with the care I've received at the Cheng practice and how the doctors and staff have treated me any time I've talked to them over the phone or been in the clinic. read more

Great family owned business that has been in Chicago's Chinatown community for decades. Hilary was my dentist when I was a little kid. And when I moved back to Chicago, he became my dentist again. Recently, his daughter, Diana became my dentist. The whole Cheng family and their receptionist are super nice and friendly and always ask me how my family is doing every time I go for an appointment. I have gotten many cleanings, a few cavities patched, an even tooth extraction here. All of their work has been top notch. and never had any issues. I've had several different insurances and they accept most PPOs. Highly recommend! read more

Cheng Hilary, DDS - Waiting for my cleaning - General Dentistry Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Still traumatized from my experience with this dentist. Impatient, rude, and mean to me when I was a teenager getting several fillings.

The family practice under the direction of Dr. Hilary Cheng is extraordinary. Not only is he, his associates and staff excellent at putting people at ease, because let's be truthful who really wants to come to the dentist? My husband dreaded going to the dentist until we found Dr. Cheng and he has taken care of entire family of 5 for the last 13 years. And even when we moved to the south suburbs, we still drive to Chinatown to be taken care of here. These wonderful people connect with you, they really care and you feel it. Drs. Diana, William, Hilary Cheng and Dr. Thomas and the excellent dental assistant staff, especially Sherry take great care of my family's dental needs and I would recommend them to EVERYONE. read more

If you are looking for a dentist look no further. I was frustrated looking for a dentist that takes my insurance. I was definitely skeptical and on high alert picking Dr. Cheng's office because I don't speak a lick of Chinese. It's in the heart of Chinatown. I love the culture and Chinese food but I was nervous all at the same time. Dr. Chengs´ office is top notch. Family ran business with first class service and equipment. I feel like I'm at an airport lounge getting dental services. From the first time I called the office to make my appointment, the staff was super polite and friendly. When I entered the office I was greeted immediately, the office is beautiful and spotless. Dr. Diana Cheng is the real deal... The father is awesome too. Overall, I know people are scared of dentists, but fear no more you're in great hands at Dr. Cheng's office. read more

Definitely the best dentist office in Chicago. The Cheng family has been cleaning and fixing my teeth for years, and I've always had a positive experience. The doctors are very thorough and there's never a question that they're choosing the best course of action for a patient. They explain everything they're doing so you can clearly understand it. Scheduling appointments is a breeze, and they've never kept me waiting in the office. The office is clean and modern with all of the latest high tech dental gizmos. Parking in Chinatown square is super easy, and there are a ton of great restaurants to eat at and shops to visit after your appointment. read more

I am so surprised that no one has reviewed Hilary yet. He is he most awesome dentist that I have ever met. Not to say that I have not had other cool dentists before, but Hilary takes the cake. He is always in a great mood. He always has the latest Chinatown Gossip. He does a great job on my chompers I alway feel prettier after I see him. He is kinda like a hairstylist in a dentist's body. I have been going to him for about 3 years and I only wish that I have met him sooner. Some tips: 1. Cause he is so popular, the front office staff will sometimes book you with his brother (they share the practice), he is cool too so don't worry. 2. the waiting area can get kinda crazy with people and the mags are sorta old, so bring the PSP 3. the office staff is not the greatest with English, so speak SLOWLY and enunciate. I hope Hilary doesn't read this and think that I have a crush on him. ... or do i? read more

he is great. he had been seeing my daughter, and she broke her tooth while we were visiting Chinatown. He took care of it immediately and was very conservative. His prices are reasonable. I feel very lucky to have found him. I would drive from... to see him. read more

This review is for Dr. Diana Cheng. I've seen her twice and both times were really good experiences. She seems very passionate about her profession and cares about her patient's comfort and well-being. She was very professional and made sure to focus on the procedure rather than like some other dentists that I've been to who would spend time talking to their hygienist instead. She showed concern about my pain-level during the deep cleaning process, was considerate throughout my entire time in the office and was patient with answering all of my questions. She also called to follow-up with me as she promised and she even said she'd checkup on me again the next day with another call if I felt there were concerns that needed to be followed up on. Wow! Never had any other dentist do that before! So highly recommend! read more

I went to see dr Cheng without making an appointment because I woke up with swollen right side of the face and infected wisdom teeth. Dr Cheng saw me and asked me to get them removed ASAP. He is really kind, funny and caring. He was also willing to make a call to the orthodontists he knew to help me set up appointments faster and get a closer quote. He also gave me a lot of advice on taking care of my teeth. He is such a great doctor and I can tell he really cares about his patients. read more

Dr. Cheng and his staff are the most friendliest, compassionate and caring dental health providers in Chinatown and maybe all of Chicago. My 99 year old father developed a severe toothache and needed attention right away. Dr. Cheng's office was completely booked that day, but somehow they would squeeze him in that afternoon, although without an appointment the wait time could be long. After informing them of my dad's age and general weak physical condition and they said not to worry and they would find a way to see him that morning. Dad's caregiver gets him over there at 10 AM ( I live 45 miles away) and his wait time was brief. After completing the emergency exam, the good doctor tells me by cellphone that the exposed part of Dad's number 21 tooth broke off and the remaining portion laying below the gum line could be fractured and that number 22 might be fractured as well. He did not want to risk causing more damage and recommended Dad to see an oral surgeon for further evaluation and removal. Dr. Cheng then said he would not charge us for the exam and arranged for a top oral surgeon to see us that afternoon. All I can say is, "Wow, what a pleasant surprise!" This was not our fist experience with Dr. Cheng. My dad had saw him years before for a new partial and he was treated then with the same friendliness and care that he received the other day. If you live in or near Chinatown and need a good dentist, go see Dr. Hillary Cheng! read more

I never actually made it in to see Hilary, so I am writing this review based on my experience trying to make an appointment. The receptionist is really incompetent. I had an appointment scheduled for this week. I called to confirm and was told she had canceled my appointment because she was missing something my insurance company (which she claims suddenly appeared after she canceld my appointment.) The next available is end of November. I ended up dropping Hilary as my doctor and choosing Pilsen Family Dental instead. read more
