The second time, I was getting a few things, and decided to get some paint while I was there, because I had a pretty good idea of the color I wanted. I waited and waited. Some guy who worked there walked past, and I asked him if there was anybody working paint. "I don't know," he said and kept walking. I saw him go by again and asked him if he could find someone to help me. He said he would. I continued to wait, and no one showed up. Finally, I got disgusted and left. I really wanted to give my business to the little guy, and I liked the fact that they give you Aeromiles, but that was ridiculous. You want my business, you need to earn it. They certainly don't act like they give a s*** here.

I also had a poster mounted on foam board, but it started curling when I brought it home, so I had to take it back and have it framed. It turned out great. The staff gave me a deal on that one. I paid $350 for the 2 pictures. I usually get my framing done at Alberta Hospital where they operate a frame shop as a patient program. It's so much cheaper than anywhere in the city, but it's a long way to drive. Convenient location is why I chose Mill Creek. I have only seen women working in this shop. I'm very impressed. They are highly skilled.

I went in for the first time early March (2013) to get a print framed for a donation item for a silent auction and brought in personal items for the house. They spent the time helping me find a frame that would accent the red in the photo (it was taken in Africa) and also helped pick a great mat for it.--which I recently found out they upgraded to museum to really help elevate the photo! I brought in 4 other canvas paintings to get stretched and framed. And after much discussion and playing around, they really helped me come up with the best options for the pieces and didn't pressure me at all. I ended up getting one stretched on canvas and the other 3 mounted on foam core and framed (best decision ever for these 3). They really did take the time to make sure I was happy with my decision! And another thing, I brought in a very sentimental piece from my trip and it was probably the most difficult to pick a frame for but they still pulled as much as possible and helped me come up with a decision that I was very very happy with (I swear it was at least an hour!). I have to say, these guys really do understand the art of framing! I went to go pick it up and was floored by how beautiful it turned out! I loved it and would recommend taking the time to let them figure out what you like and go from there. If you go in with an idea, they really can run with it and their selection is so vast that you really can trust their recommendations and simple tweaks. Truly, the art of framing is mastered here!

But I encouraged her to call the store to pass some feedback along, at least let them know they this guy isn't doing them any favors. Manager couldn't have cared less and dismissed it with "he probably just meant he had them in the section he works in" (lol).

Everybody knew which aisle to send me to for what I wanted, or took me there in person. I do believe the staff make the store. The store is so big and there is such a variety of goods that it would be very hard to find something without help. Maybe I'm missing something, but I would suggest that it should be possible to have a store inventory with locations available online so that I could find stuff myself with my smartphone.
