I came to Princess auto to pick up a couple things for the trailer and thankfully I found one of the most helpful people I have ever found at a retail outlet. Ken took the time to show me what I needed and ensure it would work with my vehicle which was parked just outside. That went above and beyond but let me tell you I will be back. With a great big parking lot and some of the best prices on anything you would need for you car, trailer or home you can't go wrong. I think you have to take PA for what it is, very cheaply made parts and tools that may work in the short-term, never in the long term. everything is low-quality imports, but if your only criteria is price and you don't like Amazon. it's a good place to shop. just don't expect things to last, have quality fit and finish, etc. Everything is single-use, throw away and replace. If that's all you need, it's perfect. Staff are great and returns are easy. read more

I'm getting pretty fond of this place. MORE than adequate staffing as of late - and I am super happy about that. At one time, you had to line up at customer service to ask a question. Now, just ask ANY staff member you see to help you, and they drop whatever they're doing and they WILL find you what you are looking for. In Calgary last week, one fellow from customer service helped me find something, and even found me in the aisles to ask if I'd located it! Today experience was again great! The gent helped me find the mat I was looking for, suggested an alternative in case the mat didn't work out and even offered to carry it to the front for me. And it's not because I'm a cute 20-something, far from it these days! :D Parking is always fantastic, store is clean, and public washroom facilities are available. The only reason I can't do 5*, there seems to be a shortage of price tags on pegs and shelves - usually in surplus, which shouldn't affect how the stock is treated. read more

Princess Auto is a great place to find inexpensive tool related items and cool surplus items as well. The surplus area is always changing. They have inventory from all sorts of places (stores that have liquidated I suppose) including army surplus type items like ammo boxes. It is always interesting to peruse the surplus area to find out what is new. They often have great sales if you watch the flyer. You can get items for really good prices but sometimes they do run out of stock. You may be able to get a rain check but sometimes those are limited quantity items and the store doesn't end up getting any more stock. So if you see something in the flyer you really want your best bet is to go early to get it! I have actually been a day or two early on a sale item and asked if I could get the sale price and they obliged. They have a huge parking lot at their Edmonton locations. Parking usually is not an issue. The store has always been clean and well organized and staff are very helpful. read more

Princess Auto has been the mainstay of Tradesmen, Professional People, Farmers, Oil Workers and Inventors alike for som 50 years. I even met the U of A parts source(r) for student faculty engineering projects. Cheap direct fast common and plentiful. So i like shopping off of the shelves than in catalogs or part source places. Im not sure what I want until I place it in my cart. Occasionally bad staff but for the most part proud to please pleased to help. Some have worked there for a long time. I don't like the Cdn Tire I dunno attitude so I prefer to be here. oh free coffee. read more
