I have mixed feelings on this one, but overall pretty positive!…read more This is a huuuuuge location and I was psyched to see the variety of products (and nicely organized, to boot!) Downsides: the primary staff member I spoke with about an ottoman wasn't overly friendly and definitely wasn't helpful, but the young man who lent me his measuring tape was a gem. I also found the "ambiance" of this place to be a bit yuck- the lighting was a strange shade of yellow that I think was raining on my parade. Overall I think this is a pretty great place to peruse for new household items and decor, and the prices are always great!

Not sure if they are waiting for product to get on the shelves or an order to come in. Luckily it wasn't too busy and no line ups as my sister found an item she wanted. Normally, I would give Michael's a 3 star review…read more Yes, yes - they are my go to place for crafts of all sorts but seriously the prices are out of whack! I get that I live in Canada now, but come on Michael's corporate conglomerate multibillionaire people - if a spool of ribbon is $2.99 in the U.S. it doesn't not need to be double that just because I've moved across the border. Michael's has a coupon every week for 40-50% off of almost any item in the store and you can even show it to them on their smartphone. If you don't get flyers in the mail, not to fear - sign up for their e-mail or go on to flyerland.ca for instant access to the coupon. My most recent trip to Michael's was for a birthday party my daughter attended which is what prompted me to write this review! HOW COOL! The hosting birthday girl basically gets to pick out any project in the store and then they have a staff member assist the kiddos with completing the project. Now, my daughter is a wee one still so they made bracelets and necklaces but I read online about t-shirt paining parties and all kinds of neat ideas. The party lasted for 2 hours - so basically, 1 hour for the craft and 1 hour for cake/presents. I think this is a fabulous idea for an indoor party and heaven knows we have enough -40 below days here in Edmonton! Three cheers for Michael's offering birthday parties!

This shop curates a wide variety of stuff that's ideal for gift giving. It's hard not to go overboard ordering just one more cute thing. I really like their needlework kits, greeting cards, and home decor items. Prices are not bargain basement so be warned that a shopping spree can add up fast! Still, shopping local has its own rewards and I am glad that this quirky little place has earned such a large following that it's still standing after all the economic challenges of the pandemic and beyond. Hard to explain, but the inventory just has an Edmonton feel to it -- check it out and see if you agree!

The space is small but it has an upstairs mezzanine area with even more goodies and that's where you'll find the wall of patches. That's right, a wall of patches, my friend and I were debating buying a giant cat patch for a denim jacket. They are so cool. I want them all. The greetings cards are funny, shocking and perfect for any pal with a sense of humour. They sell light boxes, neon signs and trinket holders in weird shapes. What's not to love. Every single thing in this store is so damn cute, including the owner. She was funny, had great conversation and told us lots about the makers and various store items. Can't wait to go back and buy all the things!

The store doesn't have an exact closing date but it won't be very long. Currently seasonal items are 60-70% off (some seriously cute Xmas décor and ornaments) and the remainder of the store is 20-30% off. They have really cute jewellery and unique items for special gifts. I really like their line of moon necklaces/bracelets where you pick the phase of the moon on a special date (birth, death, wedding, etc.) and can wear it as jewellery. I also like their sparkly Swarovski crystal bracelets, earrings, and necklaces. Some stuff here for sure can be found elsewhere or online for less but that's not the point of a boutique store. It's getting to go somewhere and browse through various collections to find the perfect gift for someone special. If you're a fan of s'well bottles, they still have a fairly good collection of unique ones and at 20% off you're paying a fair price for the designer s'wells. (Note you can get plain jane ones at Costco for $30) but the ones here are GORGEOUS and make me smile. They're collection of wrapping papers and tissues is extensive and are sure to be able to wrap your gift to fit any occasion or theme. Seriously gonna miss the Prettiest Present!

Well I just adore this store!…read more Often you walk into gift shops, and yes, everything is lovely but you just don't really see anything practical; or everything is really expensive, or really niche. But at the Prettiest Present they really have a great variety of really useful gifts! From presents for those pooch peeps, to culinary and kitchen gadgets - as well as neat necessities. Then there are the baby gifts, the seasonal decor for your own abode, a wall of tempting teas and some really unique jewelry. And then the pies de resistance... they have the most fabulous collection of gift bags, gift boxes and paper so that when you find that perfect present you can also wrap it up without having to go to another store! Love it!! Although, I do not remember seeing ribbon or cards, I could be wrong, or maybe that's just asking for the moon. Pro Tip: Make sure to go into the basement! Often you go into a store like this and assume that down the steps is just a small smattering of a few other things. But in this case the basement is the majority of the shop. It is at least 3x larger then the upstairs portion. Happy shopping!

I was greeted by Wonder Woman (it was Halloween) and she was very friendly and helpful. She let me browse the store without pressure (which I really appreciate because some stores can put a lot of pressure on you to purchase). Other than Christmas decorations, Jilly's a bit of everything! There is clothing in the back (it's very expensive though - so expensive I almost choked on my gum). They also have numerous home decor items, candles, bath and soap products, they have a lot of stuff. The sale section towards the back of the store drew me in immediately (it had purses). I really liked Jilly's. I will be going back to shop soon!

This place is seriously jam packed! I took pictures, and when I looked at them after, I saw things in the picture I didn't notice in the store! You can, and probably should, spend at least an hour here! I was in there for about 20 minutes which is seriously a long time for me. I can browse a store and be out in 5 minutes. But this place was like a candy store for me :) My favourite sections in the store were the Farmhouse Fresh skin care line (get the Whoopie Cream lotion), the gurgle pots, and the Volcano candles. Oh! And the scarves! Such a huge selection of scarves here! So many great spring patterns and colours. This boutique has something for every budget. You can pick up gifts from $20 and up. What a great place to come for hostess gifts! And in addition, the girl working at the shop was super friendly and I could tell she loved working there. For real, I think this is as good as it gets for a local boutique in SW Edmonton. 5 stars all around! *Applause*
