Winners is a weird store. Not weird as in bad, just weird as in I either go to Winners and want to…read morebuy everything or I go in, and want to buy nothing and leave disgusted. My most recent visit to Winners in Leduc was scenario A (want to buy everything). Winners is a discount store (so they say) that has deals on a wide variety of products from clothes to cosmetics to accessories to home decor to candy to toys. I've been to several Winners before and sometimes the deals are really awesome, but other times the Winners price isn't that great of a deal. It kind of depends on what you're looking for, and on the original retail price of the item your looking at. I just say this because it's easy to look and go "omg 50% off" and want to buy everything, but not everything is that great of a deal. That being said I do generally like Winners. I don't usually find much in the clothing department, just because their plus size selection is limited to one rack, but I always like browsing the accessories and the purses and handbags at Winners. The have some random brands I don't recognize, but then ones I do like Guess. On my last visit, I found a nice, basic gray over the shoulder purse that is perfect for traveling, and it was only $25, which seems like a great deal to me. I also really like browsing the home department section at Winners because they have cool home decor stuff, but it isn't just double decker bus figures and Buddha statues, there's more practical home stuff. Case in point the 6 pack fo wooden hangers for pants that I got. Winners can be quite busy, particularly on weekends or after holidays, but Leduc's Winners is nice. It's a decent size (not quite as big as some of the ones in Edmonton) and it's always clean and well organized. The staff are pretty friendly, and even when being the 15th person in line for the checkout counter it doesn't take too long to check out. I don't always shop at Winners, but I generally like it when I do.

This was the first time my toddler went shopping for shoes in an actual shoe store. We were quite pleased that there were multiple options (and also pleased about the buy one pair get one half off promotion that was going at the time). We were greeted by the staff upon our entrance and they pointed out where the toddler shoes were which was lovely. I went and checked the sale racks but none were available in the toddler's size which was fine, as there were so many great pairs to try. The toddler ended up picking out two pairs of shoes (one that lit up! and another very fun pair too!) and we were able to check out quickly and got a nice backpack/bag to carry them in. I liked how the staff were so kind to the kid and that they were so helpful. I personally find Skechers comfortable so I probably ought to come shop here someday for myself too as I'm all out of closed toed casual but work appropriate flats... but perhaps that's an adventure for the fall or at least for another day.

There were no other customers in the store when I walked in, and there were two staff members working. Nobody acknowledged my presence for the entire 20 minutes that I was looking around. Nobody asked if I needed any help. Nothing. It was like I wasn't there. I found the selection to be much smaller than other Skechers stores, and prices were no different. It is nice to have something like this in the capilano area, where shopping options are limited, but I was hoping for better. I left with nothing.

I was able to find a great puzzle for my mom, a family game, novelty socks, swishmallow, and a nail polish set. All for under $40, I was very it impressed. One of the coolest things was they had an open pathway to Homesense which is located next door. But you could walk between either store and make a purchase at one side or the other. What a great idea!

They had some good deals on items like Roxy backpacks for $29.99 (I uploaded pics) and a shoe section that beats Winners handsdown (more like shoe warehouse). I uploaded lots of pics of shoes, too - of course! The toy section and home section were pretty small but that's okay 0- that's what Winners and HomeSense are for. They offer designer handbags ranging from $200 for a clutch right up to $900 (and of course, you got it - more pics!). Overall, the store felt 50% stocked - LOTS of space between aisles and it would appear they need to double their inventory. Expect the prices and quality to be inline with Winners and definitely worth a trip to wander around but nothing to write home about. Wish I could give them 3 stars - better than average but not quite in the 4 category to me.

The outdoor side of things is pretty standard with a Walmart, Winners, Dollarama and Ardene's etc. I come here quite a bit to pick up some shopping but never consider it a mall. The indoor part is hard to find, I was driving around and around trying to find the library! The day I went inside was Sunday and was delighted to see a mini farmers market on the go. It's really small but it has all the things you go to the larger markets for. I was impressed and will head there on a Sunday for my vegges instead of venturing to Whyte Ave and scrambling for parking! I heard form my last visit to Edmonton Public Library that they will be closing this location down so I wonder what will happen to this remaining building after they move out?

I had never been before Friday so I had no idea what I was in form. While WEM is famous, Kingsway is a secret gem, and Southgate is gaining fame as a great mall too, Capilano has been left behind. The "food court" only has 4 or 5 food options and few tables. The most on-trend womens' clothing store is Smart Set, which, while not bad, is never my first choice. I came for a massage at Makami College located in the mall, but I didn't take too much time to stick around post-rub. Not much to see here, folks.
