I was able to find a great puzzle for my mom, a family game, novelty socks, swishmallow, and a nail polish set. All for under $40, I was very it impressed. One of the coolest things was they had an open pathway to Homesense which is located next door. But you could walk between either store and make a purchase at one side or the other. What a great idea!

They had some good deals on items like Roxy backpacks for $29.99 (I uploaded pics) and a shoe section that beats Winners handsdown (more like shoe warehouse). I uploaded lots of pics of shoes, too - of course! The toy section and home section were pretty small but that's okay 0- that's what Winners and HomeSense are for. They offer designer handbags ranging from $200 for a clutch right up to $900 (and of course, you got it - more pics!). Overall, the store felt 50% stocked - LOTS of space between aisles and it would appear they need to double their inventory. Expect the prices and quality to be inline with Winners and definitely worth a trip to wander around but nothing to write home about. Wish I could give them 3 stars - better than average but not quite in the 4 category to me.

Zellers

Zellers

My friend and I decided to stop into Zellers to see if we could get hit with a bit of nostalgia. I…read moregrew up in the 90s and remember my mom taking my brother and I shopping here for clothes (though we both were far more interested in the toys). My friend and I weren't there during the grand opening with the food truck so we missed that. Zellers is now located upstairs in The Bay at Kingsway. I was actually here a few weeks prior to it opening and noticed a section of the store partitioned off with curtains and figured this is where Zellers would be. My deductive skills were correct. So Zellers is now a small department within a department store. There's a few clothes, some toys (though no bright pink Barbie dreamhouse like 7-year old me wanted), some home decor, some kitchen and homeware, some pet stuff. It's a little bit of a lot of stuff. There were some Zellers backdrops to take a pic for the gram cause they're really targeting us millennials. I didn't buy anything, but my friend did and was happily surprised the prices weren't as high as she expected. There was no sense of nostalgia for me shopping at the new Zellers. I was hoping to see a Zeddy The Teddy Bear, or a Zellers hoodies; maybe there would have been some of those if I'd been there when it first opened. If you're looking to visit Zellers to get a sense of nostalgia (if you're old enough to remember the original Zellers) or if you're looking to see "what Zellers was like" (for you youngster or anyone who might be new to Canada) you'll probably be disappointed. This is just wandering around a department within a department store that happens to have the word Zellers thrown around here and there. That said taking the nostalgia aspect out to just go here to shop the store was clean, the prices were pretty decent (less expensive than The Bay itself), although there wasn't a lot of variety in the clothes (Women's was pretty picked over). I'm not saying avoid new Zellers, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get here. This is the only one in Edmonton so if you're at Kingsway Mall pop into Zellers and take a look around. Maybe it'll transport you back 20 years in time. Maybe you'll just find a utensil holder for your kitchen.
