The food court was clean and they have Starbucks, Tim Hortons and McDonalds for coffee options in this mall. Unfortunately there are a lot of independent mish mash stores that seem very empty selling low quality clothing. Overall, the mall is great for running errands and finding one or two things you specifically need.

I have lived by Londonderry Mall my entire life. I've watched it go through many changes and ups &…read moredowns. Before the mall was renovated in 1992, it was very dark and gloomy, but now it's very bright and more modern-looking. The makeover didn't really benefit this mall that much. In fact, in became pretty lame. When Wal-Mart moved here, this brought in tons of traffic, and I would say it's what kept this mall alive. After Wal-Mart left, many great stores closed down, including the GAP. (I still can't forgive them for taking it away from me!) This mall was stagnant for quite some time, but over the past five years, this mall has been slowly improving once again. Some of the best stores are HMV, Sport Chek, Dollarama, Game City, Le Chateau, Payless. Winners, Army & Navy, Coles, Spasation, Shoppers Drug Mart, Purdy's, Save-on-Foods, and The Great Room Company. The Bay is here too, but it's probably the worst one (minimal selection) in the entire city. Oh, and I almost forgot--there's a Library here as well! The mall's food court is the best, since it has big screen TVs, a water wall, and all the fast-food favourites. There's Taco Time, New York Fries, Edo, Booster Juice, Arby's, Orange Julius, Opa!, A&W, and lots more. McDonald's and Second Cup are also in the mall. The customer service area, located in the centre of the mall, is a great place to come for a rest. There's many flat-screen TVs and large comfy chairs and couches. Londonderry Mall has always had a reputation of bringing in many famous people--usually it's something for the kids or a band for the teenagers. When I was a kid, and before the mall was renovated, I saw Richard Simmons! Woohoo. Lucky me. Five years ago, I would have given this mall a two-star rating for sure. Maybe now I am giving it four instead of three, since it's my neighbourhood mall (I'm probably slightly biased), but it has improved considerably. Londonderry Mall is no Kingsway, but it's still pretty awesome.

Yes there were a few red flags but majority of my visit to this location was okay. one other thing it is very difficult to identify who is an employee due to the employees not having name tags. Note: i couldn't find the actual store to review

The staff is on top of cleaning up things and keeping the floors clean from all the mud that comes on the shoes from off the street. My only complaint is that I feel there could be a better selection of stores and options. Some of the stores though offer good pricing and good discounts. I will continue to shop here and hope that they get a better selection in the future.

The outdoor side of things is pretty standard with a Walmart, Winners, Dollarama and Ardene's etc. I come here quite a bit to pick up some shopping but never consider it a mall. The indoor part is hard to find, I was driving around and around trying to find the library! The day I went inside was Sunday and was delighted to see a mini farmers market on the go. It's really small but it has all the things you go to the larger markets for. I was impressed and will head there on a Sunday for my vegges instead of venturing to Whyte Ave and scrambling for parking! I heard form my last visit to Edmonton Public Library that they will be closing this location down so I wonder what will happen to this remaining building after they move out?

I had never been before Friday so I had no idea what I was in form. While WEM is famous, Kingsway is a secret gem, and Southgate is gaining fame as a great mall too, Capilano has been left behind. The "food court" only has 4 or 5 food options and few tables. The most on-trend womens' clothing store is Smart Set, which, while not bad, is never my first choice. I came for a massage at Makami College located in the mall, but I didn't take too much time to stick around post-rub. Not much to see here, folks.

Admittedly it looks a bit retro inside but the staff were fairly nice and they obscure part of the doorway so people walking past are less likely to stop and oggle you if your standing infront of the mirror getting measured for hemming. I am sure this is greatly appreciated by self conscious folks. In terms of prices here I found what they charged me to a be a bit shocking. I was charged $21.00 for a rip about the length of my pinkie that probably took them all of five minutes to take care of. Part of this price however comes from the 25% markup they include if you ask for a rush job. Normally I would be understanding of such a policy but it rubbed me the wrong way here in two different ways. First off when I initially brought the coat in the lady came around the counter and stood infront of the sign they have on the wall that explains the markup and how much it is. Secondly I felt that things were phrased to me in a deceiving way. When I was asked about when I needed my coat back by I was asked "did you need this today or can you come back tomorrow?" Nowhere in there was it mentioned about the surcharge on rush work and as a first time customer of this business how was I too know? Another weird thing worth mentioning is how the lady who rang me up didn't really want to take my debit card but when I told her I had no cash or credit she begrudgingly agreed to attempt to use it. I guess their machine has an issue with reading debit cards but why on earth would you not call and attempt to get someone in to look at it or swap out your terminal for a new one? Finally in terms of the actual job they did it was good. The stitch is strong and they color matched the forest green of my jacket exactly. Was it worth the $21.00? I don't know that I can say yes. They are conveniently located in the mall however and the people running it are very nice so if your like me where it's a rarely needed service it could be worth it to throw a few extra dollars towards nice folks running a small locally owned business.
