Tina at the fitting room was a gem -- friendly, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. But checkout was a letdown: 14 tills, only 2 open, and a long wait with disengaged staff. The most reliable Winners/Homesense I've been too. This location never disappoints because I always end up finding the most random but cool things. I feel like their selection is pretty good and I love looking at all the neat stuff that they carry. Never a dull moment here, if you're the type of person who likes to look at home goodies, unique foods, apparel and things that you don't think you need ... but need lol One stop shop. read more

Westend Winners. I love the way that it is directly combined with Homesense. No walking next door or outside, just walking across the store. Easy. Something to do on a lazy afternoon. Suggestion go to Winners/Homesense and just browse. Great one of a kind pieces (when you do find that lonely piece crying out to you) or give you inspiration for that inner interior decorator that's waiting to burst out of you. This is one of my favourite Winners locations in Edmonton, because it has some of the best selection. I stopped by the other day because I needed a creamer, and although they didn't have one in the shape of a cute cow like I wanted, they had quite a few that it took me awhile to decide. This location has a fantastic clearance section in the far right corner of the kitchenware department. You'll always find something here, whether it's pots and pans on clearance, or a nifty teapot, or a couple of beautiful wine glasses salvaged from a broken set. It's a good spot to check out before you scope out the rest of the store. They're starting to display their Christmas stuff as well (like most other places), and already I have a mental list of what I'm going to come back to get, once I get my tree. They do have trees here, but they're a bit expensive, and most of the ones I saw were already pre-decorated in some way. I prefer to decorate my own, it's the best part anyway. I think they've expanded their beauty department too, because I don't remember it being that big last time I was here. Apparently you can get your skincare products here now, which is pretty cool. I LOVE shopping here for any holiday, and of course Christmas is my favorite. I love the explosion of glitter and color that greets me as soon as i walk through the door. There's all these shelves filled with all kinds of bits and pieces that could make great gifts and great stocking stuffers. Everything you might need is here. Books, treats, beverage mixes, bathroom stuff, , home decor,storage stuff, toys, and hey I was on my way to the toy department, when a couple tops in my plus size popped out and demanded I buy them. And all this stuff is generally decently priced. Sure, there's the occasional pricey item, like the $130 chocolate gold Santa, but it's all good, and it's all fun. I can always count on finding something for someone---even if that someone is myself. Oddly enough, my favorite part is the cashiers. It amazes me how quick and efficient their system is. One never waits longer than a few minutes, no matter how many people are in line. They make it easy, just as they make it hard to resist all those impulse buys along the way. I've never been a Winners fan; I don't really enjoy sifting through racks of clothing and not be able to find anything decent at a good price. I came into this Winners recently and was surprised to find some great buys and quality clothes for a Christmas gift for a little boy. They have lots of brand name items for good prices. I didn't look through the adult clothes though, I didn't want to bother fighting the crowds. The houseware section has some great buys as well. Sometimes I can find good little Christmas food gift items. This time I was able to get a great board game for about half the retail price. The line ups seemed very long and scary but they did move pretty quick with 6 cashiers working. Next time I'm in the area I will go back and check out what deals I can get on quality items. read more

I called to see if the store at South Common in Edmonton had a product I was interested in. They said they can't check the system and they do not do floor checks. I said that would be a 20 km drive for nothing of they didn't have the item. She (the manager) said I have to come to the store to see if they have it. REALLY BAD/POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! read more

Aw man. This is sad for me, because Winners is my favorite store. I've been on the hunt for a dog food storage bin for quite some time, and I love the metal turquoise one w Winners carries. Unfortunately I didn't jump on it the first time I saw it, so I've been scouring edmonton to find it again for the last month. This Winners isn't my usual store, but I popped in today to find my dog food bin and they HAD IT! Score. It was a bit small, but I decided it would do. I also spent a long time perusing the aisles, and also bought several items of clothing and a pair of shoes. The fact that this is a Winners/Home Sense combo was heaven on earth to me (or should have been). The stars I've given in this review are for the variety of products they carry. Now, the bad news. Customer service. Not sure what the deal is with this particular chain location, but I found the staff unhelpful, and some even a bit nasty. The fitting room situation is military, and made me not even want to try on the clothes. They shouted after me as I walked away with an item, even though I had told them I was keeping it. Eek. Don't yell at me! There also seemed to be some sort of restocking disaster going on when I was in- a lot of popular areas were jammed with enormous carts and staff chatting or working around them without seeming to notice that customers were having a tough time maneuvering around them. Finally, once arriving to the till I discovered that my beloved dog food container was a bit dinged up and missing some paint. I mentioned it to the cashier (who also seemed to be in a bad mood) if they had any more in stock. A manager came over and told me, seemingly offended, that they were not responsible for manufacturer errors and would not give me a discount. It wasn't so much her message, but the "do you want to argue about it?" tone it was delivered. And I hadn't even asked for a discount- just if they had any more in the store. Maybe by the end of my experience I was more sensitive to voice tone and everything, but this was kind of just an unpleasant shopping trip. I think I'll stick to my winners on the south side. read more

Of all the Winners in the city this one is probably my favorite.... I just always feel like the staff here try a little harder than at the other locations. The majority of the time when I come in the store is always very tidy and they do a nice job of making well thought out displays versus setting up a table and putting a bunch of purses on it that all have around the same price point but are all different sizes and colors and having nothing in common besides price. The cluttered up random tables are actually one of my biggest pet peeve's about the WEM and City Centre locations. I think the biggest issue here is that in terms of selection it seems to favor female shoppers. When I look for myself I always find lots that interests me but when I was in last looking for a suit jacket for my boyfriend they didn't have that much available and what was left was all smaller sizes at prices I would not be willing to pay at a Winner's store. For accessories,kids,and ladies shopping this is a must stop for those browsing on the west side. I just wish they would do a little more for the male shopper so I could make the rating five stars. read more

I've always thought of Winners as a store for women, or perhaps men with a waist of 32 inches or smaller. However, In a mere month of bicycle commuting, I've forgotten essential clothing items. Thankfully, this Winners is located within a 10 minute bike ride of my office. When I forgot my pants, I only found one pair in my size, but thankfully they fit comfortably. Likewise, I only found one appealing shirt in my size when I forgot my shirt. The pants were a bargain at $30, but the shirt was a bit overpriced, also at $30. Probably the most annoying thing about this Winners is the waiting time to purchase anything. I went once at 9AM and waited about 10 minutes to buy my shirt. Lunchtime was even worse - I waited over 20 minutes. The checkout system consists of one big, long line, and a bunch impulse purchase items along the way. This isn't a store to go to in a hurry. read more

Why did I always avoid Winners? I always though it was a place filled with clothing that nobody wanted, but I was pleasantly surprised at the selection that was offered at this location. I guess that the stock varies between store to store, yet it was not hard to find some Calvin Klein jeans for under $30. I actually found a lot of ski gear that I used on a recent ski trip (under armor style) and a lot of good jogging equipment. What surprised me were the prices as well. They are far below retail, but it can be easy to continue shopping and racking up your bill total. One thing I did not like about the store was it's lack of customer service. I hardly saw anyone there, but I hear this is typical for any Winners. It's also a trade-off to cheaper prices too. You pick which one you like more. read more

We were looking for socks, and could not find them (we looked near the shoe section, where one would assume they were). This is one of my favorite Winners/Homesense in the city. Because it is a little ways out and is in a part of a city where public transit is very sparse, everything at this one generally feels a bit cleaner and less picked through. They usually have quite an extensive selection of furniture and decent selection of home/kitchen goods. And unlike the Homesense on the Southside, there generally is plenty of parking space at this one! The staff are generally friendly and always place lots of care to ensure my breakable are wrapped up nicely! read more

I just haven't had any luck whatsoever at this Winners. There never seems to be great deals to be found, period (or at least I've never found anything and that's usually my thing). I've also looked for shoes at this Winners several times this year (I am in NEED of some ankle boots as well as flats) and it's not even that they don't have anything in my price range - they just don't have anything. WOW. This is a great Winners!! I love all the home decor stuff they have. I could just walk up and down every single one of these isles, and picture it all in my house. The handbag selection is fantastic. Same with the shoe dept , although I have seen a better selection at other Winners for shoes. Ladies and Men's clothing here is of very good quality and keeping up with the trends of the seasons. Give yourself extra time when you come here, you'll need it. So much to see. read more

This is always one of my favourite locations to go to since HomeSense is attached, which makes this store super large! I found several items there yesterday, including a wide selection of dresses. I also saw a beautiful shift dress from Diane von Furstenburg that was $180 as compared to over $500 online. I was tempted to buy it on top of the other handful of dresses I found but alas my conscience told me to put it back. The lady at the fitting rooms (Susan), was lovely, friendly and pleasant and made my shopping experience at this Winners stand out! (Keep up the great work Susan!). Not a whole lot here in terms of 'trendy' selections and customer service is fairly poor.

Fast cashiers and store is pretty organized considering it's always busy here. I usually leave with a purchase :)

If you want to wait over 30 mins in line and get bad customer service this is the store for you! Not worth any of the saving you might get, you spend more time trying to find anything good, there is no one there to help you and good luck to you if you have a problem! read more
