Fun LARGE home decor store located in the 124 street shopping area. Popped in here for the first time the other week while completing the 124 Street Red Shoe Crawl and absolutely fell in love with the store. From hand shaped book ends to the neatest hooks you'll ever find to keep your keys safe (did someone say squirrel?) to funky house numbers, Henry's is your place! The staff were friendly and the atmosphere bright, cheery, and full of natural light with huge floor to ceiling windows. They also carry a selection of furniture and had some fabric swatches so I'm pretty sure they are customizable. Can't wait to go back and add to my unusual hooks collection! read more

I have been meaning to drop in since they moved into the neighbourhood. I can't believe it's been so long! We came by when 124 St hosted their All is Bright festival to light up the street. What a street party! Many many unique decorator items, furniture, lighting, art, even some really really nice clothing at fair prices! Nicely laid out vignettes of furniture, and the staff were quite gracious and helpful considering how many people were in the store that night. Depending what you are shopping for, you will want to spend some time exploring all the corners nooks and crannies for nifty items. I was particularly fascinated by the selection of hooks and LED lighting. The challenge with this neighbourhood is the parking, it's limited, and frequently you will need to resort to paying for either a meter on the street or in the Impark lot behind MEC. The bridge construction has been difficult for businesses in the area, and now the development going up kitty-corner to Henry's PFT will add to the challenge. Leave yourself some time, make a trip out of it, stop for a bite to eat and you will have a more relaxing visit. read more

This store is unique in that it is local and offers a lot of items that are not run of the mill. It's run by a experienced interior designer who was recommended to me by a friend. I moved into a condo in June 2014. My husband and I were eager to paint and decorate our space with something custom and optimized for our space. With a limited budget we had set a plan to start with what we had and start saving for the rest as we went along. The initial consult was excellent. I talked with Janice on the phone about our needs and budget. She came by later with her employee to take measurements and get a better idea of what we were looking for. Things were going well, a project proposal was written up and I identified our priorities to match our budget. We had enough to pay for the priorities first and then we were going to save for the other things and get it done over a two year period. Everything was in writing and very professional. We wanted to start with the desk, paint and curtains. We got the paint colors and curtains but didn't like the desk that was suggested. We gave more feedback on the type of desk we were looking for. We had a layout design meeting in the summer and it was focused on the living room couch and ottoman. We liked it but were not going to change that yet as we needed the curtains, paint and desk done first. We purchased the curtains and got the paint chips so we could paint. The last communications we had with Henry's was September 2014, to ask them to proceed with the plan we had outlined. All communications stopped after that. It did cost $300 to have them come in and measure, get a layout and paint samples. However, we never went any further then curtains and paint. I don't know where things went off course and I found it very unprofessional that we were dropped without understanding why. I didn't follow up because I didn't want to do business like that, chasing after them and wondering if it was personal or just bad business practice. I was so excited to have an interior designer and had mentioned it to many co-workers and friends. Unfortunately when two of my friends where looking for someone and asked me about my experience I couldn't recommend Henry's based on my experience. I do see many other reviewers having a good experience and hope that this isn't a common occurrence. read more

Henry's is a home decor and furniture store on the west end of Jasper Ave. They seem to be carrying a lot of Asian themed hutches and armours right now. They also have a nice selection of higher end chairs, sofas and tables. They also carry home decor items such as mirrors, vases and candles. I like this store, but didn't find anything on this particular visit. The sales clerk told me to check back often as they are always getting new stock in. I did find a potential Christmas present for the moms in my life though. They carry Lampe Berger home perfumes which smell lovely when put in one of their diffusers. My mom used to have one when I was a kid and is always mentioning how hard they are to find, so I am glad to know of a place that carries this line! read more

Last year we renovated our unfinished basement. While we knew we needed to add bedrooms and a bathroom, we didn't know where exactly to put them, so we first hired Janice to draft a floor plan. I am so glad we did, because what she came up with was something we never thought of and nobody suggested before, and it's brilliant. We also hired her to help us choose paint colours, drapes, and to select upholstery for a number of pieces of furniture we had recovered (some antique and some more recent pieces), as well as matching cushions. They must have a couple thousand fabric swatches to choose from. More importantly, she knows what looks good together, and made some really good suggestions. She even educated us, because not all fabrics are made the same or will wear the same. My wife and I are so happy with the end result and have recommended Janice to several friends who are also renovating their basements. I'm glad we hired a professional, because as great as HGTV is, you can't get everything you need from a 30 minute episode of [insert any HGTV show name here]. You get what you pay for. You will see beautiful and unique home items and gifts in this shop. They have pillows for Paris fans, treats for your cat/dog, and other home décor items. If you are looking for something unique that you can't find in other stores, I would suggest coming here and checking it out. I was hoping to find a gift but there wasn't the ideal item for the price range I was looking for. The staff who greeted me was friendly and offered assistance if I had any questions. I truly love Henry's PFT. I only discovered it about a year ago, and while I've only purchased a couple of little items and here and there, I love seeing all the custom couches, sectionals, and chairs ordered by other customers (they post on their instagram account). I've emailed Henry's a couple times about specific pieces of furniture I am interested in, and they are always very helpful. I haven't ordered anything yet because I haven't figured out my plan yet, but I'm excited for when I do and I know they will be of great assistance! Some items are pretty expensive, but it's high quality, and you can custom order all the finishing on the furniture, and much of it is made in Canada. It's a good place to go look for smaller gifts ($50 and under) as well. read more

This is a cute shop with lots of unique decorative pieces for home as well as outdoor living spaces. There isn't a lot of furniture, a chaise or settee here and there, so I wouldn't suggest going in when looking to furnish your house (although there was a loop of swatches at the back, so maybe they do custom furniture.. ) But once you have furnished your house and the small decoration time begins, most definitely check this place out. The 2 people that were working when I went in were very friendly. I like that they carried some really lovely throw pillows that are from Canadian artists. Also some super cool "home bar" items to jazz up your abode's lounge (you know I've got a fully stocked one in my basement!). I can see this place is quite at home in the High St/124th st block. The store was a bit overwhelming, not sure if it's because they were clearing out Christmas stock but it was very crowded and hard to move around without fear of knocking something over. They do carry some beautiful and unique items, I loved the Lampes Berger and was very tempted but unfortunately the customer service deterred me - the staff varied from indifferent to rude and it left me feeling that my business was not valued and would be better off somewhere else. read more

Rude, appalling customer service and strange store policies bordering on paranoid. I was looking to purchase a custom made sofa and 2 chairs manufactured by Decor-Rest. I visited Henry's because they were one of the retailers listed on the Decor-Rest website. I was really looking forward to going through all my fabric options etc and buying my custom pieces until Henry's spoiled it. I walked in to Henry's and received a Hi from the store rep, as I walked through the very crowded store there were only a few sofas on the floor none of which I was looking for and there were no descriptive tags on the pieces so I couldn't tell who they were made by. I explained to the sales person that I was there looking for furniture and asked #1 If they carried Decor-rest? and #2 if they carried more stock and did they have some catalogues I could look through because there was not much on the floor to choose from. The store rep told me NO, I can't give you that information. Excuse me? I was a little taken aback, He continued to say no we are not allowed to give out that info? Um so let's see if I have this right... you sell furniture but you can't tell me where your furniture is from and even though you do carry other options that are not on the floor you won't actually show me any other selections and you can't tell me if you carry the Decor-Rest line? He said yes that is right, the store Owner told us we can't release that info, there are a lot of people who sneak in here and try to steal our ideas so no I am not telling you anything. I was thoroughly shocked and extremely offended, not too mention that trip was a total waste of my time. I would never purchase anything from this place. Trust me there are a lot of other places in the city and or online where you can purchase the very same things and at a much lower price, don't waste your time at Henry's. You probably have to take a lie detector test in order to get a refund or exchange at this place, after you leave your fingerprints that is! Update 2015-10-14 : My response to store Owners reply Hi Janice, Yes, I most definitely did bring the fabric samples of my existing pieces so I could coordinate the new pieces I was planning to purchase. Initially, your employees had absolutely no interest in helping me, the only info they gave me was that they could not help me, as described in my post. It wasn't until after I pulled out my samples and your employee thought he may have a sale that he came back over to me and said and I quote " oh well I see you have samples from Decor-rest so I guess its ok for me to tell you that we have Decor-rest" but still did not offer me any help. Getting any info out of him was like pulling teeth but after trying for quite some time to extract some info from him re: the available options at Henry's he finally did say that if I wanted to see any furniture that I would have to make an appt with a designer, and that " I cant provide you with any other info because that's above my pay grade" Seriously! By this time I was so put off by the way I was treated I really did not have much interest in a relationship with your store. Look at it from my perspective. I go to your store to purchase some furniture. I am basically ignored, then misinformed and mistreated but then when your employee thinks that now he may have a sale he changes his tactics and now he's going to try to sweet talk me to get my money. Are you kidding...why would anyone want to buy anything from your store after that? Please remember there are 2 sides to every story and I am not sure what you employee relayed to you regarding my experience however there is simply no excuse to treat a customer in that way. Overall experience wasn't very good. The staff were too busy with their gossip to help customers. When I asked for assistance the lady I spoke with didn't seem very interested. It felt like she had one foot out the door while she was speaking to me. The lady was very negative and found it absolutely necessary to tell me about how the delays in the 102 avenue bridge construction have impacted the business. All of associates were glued to their smartphones the entire time. The product selection seemed somewhat "cheap". This store raves about their products being made in Canada, but I noticed a lot of it was made in China or Mexico. Everything is pricey, you could find it cheaper elsewhere or online. Looked the store up on social media later and was somewhat shocked that one of the employees is VERY political online. Business owners and employees shouldn't advertise their political bias on social media - had I know this I wouldn't have even given the store a visit. Whether or not the views are your own, people will notice them and judge. Simply leave politics out of business. For that reason I will not shop at Henry's PFT. Awful store hours; 10AM to 6PM during the week. If you're looking for some new home decor I would suggest shopping around elsewhere. ... the store could also use a sweep and vacuum. read more

I frequent this store when I need to find inspiration and unique pieces for myself/gifts for others. My favourite purchase/gift to others has to be a Lampe Berger. If it wasn't for Henry's taking the time to educate me on how these lamps purify the air and eliminate odours I would have never found them. I appreciate the personable customer service I receive every time I visit. Their expertise in Feng Shui has definitely helped me de clutter, organize and decorate my home with purpose. I recently bought an amazing and unique chair here to use a a photo prop. I love this chair! The staff are attentive, and helpful. I was told about how I could even special order it in a different color if I wanted. There are so many cool things in the store I could have easily bought all kinds of stuff. I recently visited Henry's and received the WORST customer service I have ever experienced! I walked in the door and had three employees look at me for a brief second. None of them said hello or even acknowledged my presence, so I basically stood in the middle of the store, as I had a very specific question and really had no idea what exactly I was looking for. It was at least 3 minutes before I received ay acknowledgement and that was only because one of the ladies walked directly in front of me and I had to say "excuse me". Instead of replying with a "Hi, how can I help you?" or something to that effect, I was greeted with a "Yeah?". I promptly said "Oh, it's okay" and walked right back out. Needless to say I will not be returning and will place a call to the manager. The only redeeming quality was the fact that all the merchandise was very lovely. My favourite store in Edmonton. Everything is beautiful and bright. Such a fun funky display style. I've been "visiting" a couch there for the longest time and finally ordered it. The service is always great, very friendly, and more than willing to help and answer questions. There are great inexpensive little finds for gifts or adding to your decor without breaking the bank. I've bought a number of gifts here. Henry's is great! read more
