Mostly cheaply made furniture marked up exponentially. Terrible delivery service. Go see the competition and buy something else. Be especially careful to keep an eye on the delivery team if you do use them. When my mother ordered a chair, they damaged the leg on her wall (also damaging the wall). Thankfully she saw it happen. Because they tried to leave without saying anything. Honesty goes a long way, fellas. Do not recommend. read more

After getting frustrated with some of the "disposable" furniture I've purchased over the years, I finally saved enough pennies to buy two major pieces from Cottswood. I was very pleased with the quality of the furniture (both of which were made in Canada), the high level of customer service at the store (our salesperson was very knowledgeable and did not pressure us into making a purchase), as well as the polite and punctual delivery service. Yes, the prices are high but not unreasonably so given the excellent quality. I had been eyeing my purchases for a while and purchased them on sale - unlike some other furniture stores I've visited which always seem to have "sales" going on although the price of the furniture never changes (hello, Finesse?), the Cottswood sale seemed legit to me. The only reason I did not give Cottswood a fifth star is because the furniture tends to be on the classic and traditional side and I personally prefer a more modern and contemporary aesthetic. Otherwise, the quality and service are pretty hard to beat. I have not personally been to their clearance centre, but am definitely interested in checking it out and saving a few $$$. read more

Cottswood Interiors is a place that sells beautiful, "grown up" looking furniture. I wondered into Cottswood store twice, and after every visit I left thinking about how nice it would be if I could afford to shop here. Most pieces of furniture are expensive but it is possible to find reasonably priced products. One of the sales associates was nice enough to inform me about Cottswood clearance centre where people head to hunt for great deals. I would describe Cottswood selection of furniture as eclectic: there are contemporary pieces and classic looking ones. Overall, classics predominate. Some of the brands you will find here are Thomasville, Stanley and Vanguard. And even though Cottswood is an upscale store that charges a lot for furniture, it is worth checking out if you are looking for an odd home décor items such as rugs, lamps and wall art. read more

Purchased a bed for my daughter at another furniture store and the bed rails crashed. The other company informed me that my bed was discontinued and there was nothing they could do. I phoned Cottswood and they picked up my bed rails and fixed them in 24 hours. Complimentary. I purchased a sofa from Cottswood 5 years ago and it still looks brand new. I purchased 8 leather chairs and 4 leather bar stools from Cottswood Interiors. The top of the leather is completely falling apart on almost all of the chairs. When I took them to a furniture refinishing specialist they told me that all of the material on the chairs and bar stools is the cheapest type of spray vinyl that can be used for furniture. I would definitely not recommend purchasing any type of leather product from this store. read more

Buying furniture is a tough, tough venture. We are not talking about a sparkly top that may go out of style in a year. And if it does, that's ok, you wore it 3 times and got some great pix of it on 'thatbook'. No need to run and hide under that horrible sofa your Great Aunt gave you from her basement, you know, the one you got when you moved out to go to collage. Because you have help now, a lot of it. A whole caring team of professionals that are going to care for you. That will baby step walk you through the very difficult, frustrating and relationship testing job. The job of furnishing one room, or even your entire house. After months and months of living in a completely empty house, of going to furniture after furniture store. After being told repeatedly that I "can't have that one, with that fabric". Or ,"no that one can't come smaller" and the ever so rude "you can have it this way or that; choose which one!" Uh, no I choose option three, neither. I was starting to think I would never find a sales person that understood me. Or that was polite even. Then, I found Cottswood. I found a furniture salesman that was a designer. That listened to me and had vision for my house and how I wanted it to feel. He really seemed to care about our life, our life style and what we wanted. Hallelujah! He was so patient, spent hours with me, with me and my other half, me and Mother, even me and my Mother in law! He help me to design the perfect furniture that I now love. That I crave coming home to. My couch cradles me like one of those ridiculous pictures of a puppy in a comforter. It is insane how much I love my couch. It looks like a Hugo Boss suit wrapped around a fluffy cloud. I constantly get complements from my guests on just how incredibly comfortable all the furniture is. Once, my mother actually fell asleep at brunch in my dining room set's captains chair. My friend and I came up with a word to describe most of the Edmonton furniture market while we were shopping in Cottswood: Griege. It refers to the most forgettable middleground between the colors grey and beige. It's sad, because the other reviewers are right when they say that Cottswood's product isn't disposable, it's decent quality stuff. If you're the kind of person that thinks that wearing a cardigan with dress pants might be a little risqué for Sunday mass, this is the furniture store for you. read more

Initially, we had a relatively pleasant time at Cottswood. It's difficult picking out furniture, and though we were on a little bit of a time crunch we thought we had selected items we liked. We waited 3 1/2 months for the first pieces of furniture to arrive. Though they tell you it can take up to 16 weeks, we never had had to wait that long for any other furniture we had custom made from other stores in Edmonton. We were then told, two months into waiting for our furniture, that one of the pieces would take an additional three months as the fabric was back-ordered. Finally, when the first pieces, arrived one of them, the ottoman to go with a sectional, was WRONG. Considering we live outside of Edmonton and had to have everything shipped, this was incredibly frustrating. Turns out they had not even ordered the right piece of furniture. When we placed the ordered, we were told the ottoman in the fabric we wanted wasn't in stock and would therefore be custom ordered. Apparently, it was then found 'in stock', and nobody thought to wonder why, or double check (it was in stock in a different fabric). Further, considering this is a high end furniture store, it amazes me that nobody looked that the ottoman and the sectional it was supposed to go with and questioned the fact that they didn't even remotely match. Cottswood has finally ordered the Ottoman we had ordered 4 months ago and its going to take another 3 months to get to us. This means our bed is going to take 5 months, and the ottoman will take 7 months from the day we ordered them. If I had been told that initially, we would definitely have gone somewhere else. Finally, I sent an email to both our sales person and the main office...and not a single person has replied, which shocks me. We definitely will not be shopping there again, and will not be recommending their store. read more

I've tried to shop here twice now. Both times I was bombarded by an over zealous sales person who followed me around and talked relentlessly. I'd underline that word if I could here. Even when I asked to look first, both continued to hammer me with questions. I couldn't pause at anything without getting the lowdown, where it's made, what colours it comes in and on and on. I just couldn't take it. Both tried to make appointments to come to my home. Right, I couldn't manage 10 minutes with you, not likely. Sorry, I really wanted to look, some things were nice but I just couldn't take their overbearing presence. They are very 'in your face' and unfortunately I didn't find it genuine at all. read more

Travis and his helper phoned me and set a time when they would be at my house. they were held up with traffic but phone to notify that they would be late. They arrived washed their hands as the suite was all white and proceeded to unwrapped, set up and cleaned up everything before they left.....a great experience Great guys and very polite....would recommend them.... read more

Wow, Top notch. Furniture is tough to buy and navigate but Kathryn @ cottswood made it easy. Yes you pay more but you defiantly get what you pay for with this place. So many different option and designers. We found items to fit the space and fill the rooms properly. This furniture is worth every penny and you know once you sit on it, touch it, and lift it that it will stand the test of time. This place is worth spending some time in and working with the sales staff. Just save a little more than you would expect but again worth the time and money. read more

My husband and I purchased a dining room table and 8 chairs from Cottswood during their Boxing Week Sale. We received an incredible deal because we purchased a floor model, which was in perfect condition. We had shopped around that week for a dining room set, hoping to take advantage of the sale prices, and ultimately chose the table at Cottswood in large part because of the store's reputation for quality. Delivery was supposed to take place over the coming weeks. The day before the scheduled delivery, which was about 2 weeks after the purchase, we received a call from the salesperson at Cottswood who sold us the set indicating there was a problem. Apparently the table had been stored in a warehouse, and had severely cracked as a result of the cold weather and was pretty much unfixable. My husband and I were disappointed, but were prepared to be reasonable to try and resolve it. The "customer service" person who dealt with us, Raphael, told us the absolute "best" they could do for us was to sell us a brand new table and give us $200.00 off its regular price--which would require us to pay $616.00 more than what we had already paid and wait at least another 7-8 weeks more. I asked Raphael if I could speak to a manager and he indicated he was pretty much as high as it got for customer service. My husband and I were prepared to be reasonable, however in my opinion given that it was the store's improper storage of our table which caused it to be ruined, the appropriate remedy was to provide us with a replacement for what we had purchased, which was a table that was in perfect condition when we bought it. They did ultimately give us our money back, however we lost out on the opportunity to take advantage of the Boxing Day Sales. I was extremely disappointed with Cottswood's storage of our furniture and their response to damage they had caused. Cold weather in Edmonton in January is no surprise and Raphael had indicated to me that another table in the warehouse had been damaged as well. My husband and I have an entire house to furnish, and we unfortunately will not be shopping at Cottswood again both because I have no faith in their care of the furniture once it is purchased and the poor customer service we received. read more
