Not much to choose from in this town at 8 pm on a Saturday night. I wanted to give this place a good review, I always want to give good reviews. The staff is very friendly and honest. We paid for our food when we ordered it and when it was ready they reminded us we had already paid. We got two steak bomb sandwiches. They were packed with meat but not much flavor. Unfortunately we took our sandwiches to go and walked about 7 minutes back to our air b n b. As soon as we got inside we opened up our sandwiches and the bread was soaked! Very soggy! I was hungry so I tore off most the bread and ate it anyways. I would give it a 1/10. I don't recommend it at all. We got a Reese's peanut butter cookie too. It was beyond delicious 10/10! I highly recommend them! I wish we would have bought more. I have uploaded some photos, including a menu. I will recommend you try them out as they deserve the business! When we go again we will get a bunch of the cookies and try the pizza and salads out. read more

Ordered food online. Once I waited 40 minutes I went to pick it up. They told me they didn't have my order. Had to call my bank because they took out my money and then I had to order from a different company. Unfortunately this isn't the first issue I've had with them. Over the summer they charged my card twice. read more

We stayed at a hotel and the staff there told us to order pizza from this place. The reviews about slow delivery are so true. It was hard to get them on the phone to place an order because the line was busy or it would just hang up. The estimated delivery time was an hour!! The pizza was meh: Buffalo chicken pie and cheese. I really wanted to get a margherita pizza but they didn't have that. I got a text from them apologizing for the delay in delivery but it was delivered an hour and a half after ordering!! They should offer more variety, improve delivery times, and have an online ordering option. read more

Excellent service, huge servings, amazing food, great prices! Their American Chop Suey is absolutely delicious....the BEST home made meat sauce! Listen, if your problems are delivery is late and the food is cold on arrival, welcome to today in food service. This is the best place closest to downtown to get commodity pizza, subs, and the other usuals. Everything I've had was completely satisfactory. The best sub anywhere near here is in Gloucester (Virgilio's,) in my experience. If you're in Exeter, the drive to Romeo's is a way better time/value choice than Cape Ann. read more

This place has gone downhill since it was sold. It used to be a steady go to for subs and pizza, and even loved Maria's manicotti .... after the sale, it was ok and we figured they just needed to get their bearings ... we expected some changes because of course the new owners need to make it their own ... the little metal grates in the bottom of the pizza boxes were a nice touch to keep crust from getting soggy and add a bit of extra warmth on the take-out/delivery .... but both the pizza and subs have gone steadily downhill .... tonight's delivery was abysmal ... stuff was hot enough but pizza was far too doughy and not flavorful ... and the meatball sub was not even meatballs ... it was loose ground meat, very little cheese, and it was burnt ... my daughter threw it away .... Excellent pizza, once it arrived, but dining out is SO MUCH more than the food. While we may order from there as takeout in the future, we will never eat there again. The ambience is dated, dirty, and off-putting. Last decorated in the 1970's, I'm guessing. One table was occupied when we arrived; every other table was unclean. We had to request cleaning. We ordered a pizza and a Greek salad. The salad was inexplicably slow to arrive, and eventually was delivered with the pizza. It was a nice-ish salad: cold and crisp, with too-thick creamy dressing, and fully iceberg lettuce( no green color, at all). The pizza was very fresh & hot, and what I think of as a thicker-crusted Greek-American pizza. Weird experience with almost confusion/chaos behind the counter. Never again. read more

The food is always fresh and delicious! The staff is all very friendly and helpful. I have never had a complaint about Romeo's. The only thing that has happened before that others may complain about is they forgot a side of hot peppers once. But that isn't a big deal at all and they fixed it by giving us the hots that got left behind. So like I said this place is great! Also their pita bread is absolutely amazing! I stopped by Romeo's on a sunny Saturday afternoon. I also went with the Chicken Finger Sub that James K. raves about in his review. And let me tell you, it is truly rave-worthy. Crispy chicken, super fresh roll, melty cheese, and crisp lettuce all lovingly put together by Mrs. Fotinos, the proprietress. Yum! Their Greek-style pizza is also delicious and I hear wonderful things about their home-made Greek dressing (will definitely have to give it a try next time!). Romeo's has been family run for decades, and it really shows in their friendly customer service and quality of food. I have gone to Romeo's for about 30 years for their steak bomb, it was one of the best in the county, with quality melted cheese on the steak. Last night I had one made by the new owners. It was a cold piece of un-melted poor quality cheese on the bottom of the roll. There were almost no pepper and onions. That will be the last time I go there. read more

This isn't something that I normally do. Honestly, I've never left a review online for any food I've ever eaten. I went into this place on December 22nd 2020 and ordered a large cheese and a large pepperoni pizza and I have to say, that without a doubt, this place made the worst pizza I've ever tasted. I could have made a cardboard cutout of a pizza and it would have tasted the same as what I ate that night. I was doing a pick up from this restaurant. Upon arrival I let them know I was there to pick up the order but it wasn't ready. I decided I'd use the restroom while I waited but I walked into the bathroom and left it as fast as I could. It screamed unsanitary - there was urine on the toilet and on the floor in front of the toilet. There was no hand soap or paper towels. As a matter of fact, there was NO hand sanitizer, and there was none to be found any where inside the restaurant either. When I walked out of the bathroom I spotted some sanitizer surface wipes. The container was almost empty and the wipes that were in it were dry. Thankfully I happen to wait across the restaurant near the front windows and I found another container of surface wipes, which I did successfully use to clean my hands, even if they weren't meant to be used for my hands. I needed something! Anything to feel clean after touching those bathroom door handles. I was handed a piping hot plate of food in a brown paper bag. By the time I got to the delivery about 5 min later, the brown paper bag had gotten so hot, the moisture it created started to rip the bag. I delivered an extremely unflattering meal to a customer who I'm sure was not happy, and my hands were scalding from handling the meal order. This place has more issues than any other place I've experienced but esp with covid regulations not in place besides social distance, I would strongly not recommend eating from this place. read more

I've been coming here for 25 years. The pizza is thicker crust than I care for. They excel on subs. The salads are healthy and dressing taste homemade. It is a simple, basic place where we get take out or where I used to take my son after an athletic event. The prices are very reasonable. The owners are usually close by and are easy to chat with. I go to Romeo's Pizza and Sub Shop very often (almost daily). I love the ham and cheese sub made by Olga, the meatball sub, the new corn chowder, the many pizza variations, and the Greek salad. Also, the family owners: Peter and Olga are two of the nicest people I have met and they are very good to their part-time employees: Chelsea, Alex, Erin, Dylan, and Sarah, etc. Peter and I talk about the Greek economy (I am an economist) and both Peter and Olga teach me some Greek sayings. In general, it is a relaxed, wholesome, and often fun atmosphere. It is a very clean pizza place with many booths.
