We came here for dinner when we visited Rome during fall of 2025. The owner Giovanni sat our party of five inside the unpretentiously adorned restaurant. He was our host and server for the night and he was funny and attentive while attending to the other tables of Romantusa that night.
This was our last night in Italy so we ordered dishes that we haven't had during this trip.
We got a Porcini in Fettuccine, Eggplant Croquette with smoked Provolone, Saltimbocca, Seafood Spaghetti and a Grilled Chicken.
The food was absolutely delicious with every dish full of flavor and clearly made with care.
Romantusa is truly a gem located outside the western walls of the Vatican. It's a small family business and our preferred restaurant away from the touristy areas. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a relaxing meal. The service is exceptional. Friendly, attentive, and genuine. The host knows exactly what he's doing, which makes the whole experience feel personal.
We'd definitely go again! read more
