Decent meal. We stopped by since we were hungry after a long day of touring. I got the salad since I was craving some vegetables. The salad was pretty good. We also got the oso bucco and cacio de Pepe. The meal was okay but when we got the bill, there was a 22% tax on all the items which we couldn't decipher, so it felt scammy. We were a group of 7 and we all had a very good experience. We were attended to by Sakhqub (I may have got the spelling wrong) and he recommended some dishes to suit our taste. Best place we found while visiting Rome! Seriously some of the best cocktails we've had, ever!!! There was live music, super friendly servers and bartender. We stopped by for a drink one night that turned into two because their menu was so extensive we had to try another. The Lasagna which I did not try was supposed to be good, but the Pear, Pecorino and Honey Pizza which I ordered was outrageously good. Ended up being the only place open since it was a holiday today, wasn't expecting much considering the reviews, I was wrong. Extremely friendly staff with great English and recommendations, we were hungry so we got two salads, ox tail, spaghetti and meatballs, calamari, lentil soup and lamb chops. Everything was delicious right off the bat! I had the spaghetti and meatballs and It was just perfect. The house wine was also delicious and was well complimented for our meal. We just arrived and decided to go walk around at 10 pm and found Enoteca Barberini they welcomed us in and gave us wonderful food. I had Lamb Chops and white wine. I also ordered Calamari but it was not as good so I gave it to my mom who enjoyed it. The Calamari is grilled not fried so my Americans or Iberian peninsula natives don't expect it to be fried. The Penne Arabiata was a n explosion of great flavors, the truffle bruschetta and cacio e pepe pizza were amazing. After that we went to quite a few different restaurants in Rome, Florence and Venice during our week long stay. When the waiter came to accept our payment he actually asked for a a tip (gratuity) before he would ring the bill up. You don't tip in Europe. Not appropriate. Being put on the spot in a confrontational way is not acceptable. There are so many great places to dine in Rome that I'd skip this one based on the attitude of the staff. read more

My Mom and I came here for lunch one day while we were in Rome. We ordered a pizza to split, which I am glad we did, because it was a nice size. We ordered the Margherita Pizza, but it honestly looked more like a cheese pizza. The shape of the pizza was more rectangle, instead of round. It tasted great, so we were totally fine with it! Our first dinner in Rome did not disappoint! Honestly we didn't intend to eat at Enoteca Barberini; we were just wandering, looking for something to eat (and getting lost at every turn, I'll admit) when we decided to stop in, have a glass of wine and a characuterie, and re-evaulate our plans. The charcuterie was so tasty that we decided to stay for the rest of our meal as well. I highly recommend the cacio e pepe. now that I've had it at least five times in different Italian restaurants, I can comfortably say this is one of the best I've had. This place was so good! I only discovered it because the first restaurant I had intended on going to was full and had a very long wait time... so I walked down the road for a while, and found Enoteca Barberini. The service was very prompt, friendly, and the food didn't take terribly long to come out. The menu had so many good options, but I got the Barberini pizza, which had prosciutto and salami if I remember correctly, and it was wonderful. My friend got the swordfish, and it was probably the best I've ever had - it was amazing. The gelato was delicious as well; I ordered the neapolitan, and wasn't disappointed one bit. Too bad I only found out about it on my last night there, otherwise I would have been back a few more times during my stay! Also two guys came onto the stage in the back and played some guitar for a while, giving a nice live performance; it was a nice surprise. Wonderful food, swift service, good prices, and late hours too I believe! (double check the hours though lol, but I remember that and a few others on the street were open past 9pm). Given the location right in the heart of Piazza Barberini, this is a pretty touristy spot. As soon as the live music started and they were covering Sinatra (New York, New York)...we were like, well, they cater to their audience! That said, the food was actually quite good...just perhaps, not as authentic as we would have liked. I started with a Greek Salad that featured melon (not cheese as it appears in the picture) and feta. It was typical, but the ingredients were fresh and I was craving some veg. JT got the cacio e pepe chips and dip. The blue potato chips were homemade with some salt, and the dip mimicked the taste of cacio e pepe. It was novel, so we tried it. Not bad at all. For the main course, JT went with a pork dish - he said it was amazing though I didn't try. Looked like cuts of pork side and belly. I went with a bolognese with veal meatballs. The bolognese was terrific - the meatballs slightly dry, but when mixed in with the sauce, very tasty. For dessert, they were out of a number of things (very sad as I wanted the mousse) but we ended up getting what the waiter referred to as "yogurt" but I think was some kind of panne cotta - certainly the same texture. The topping was a cloyingly sweet cherry mixture. Beautiful presentation, but missed the mark for me. All in all, a very nice meal albeit a little too touristy for us. read more

We stumbled upon this place as we got off the metro to walk to Trevi Fountain. We got lured in by the English speaking Italian, he must have seen the hunger in our eyes bc we were on the prowl for a lunch spot. The food was excellent! I got the fettuccine Bolognese, the pasta was fresh and bouncy, cooked al dente. The sauce was rich and semi- meaty. I liked how they gave us a side of Parmesan cheese so I could sprinkle my heart away on my pasta. We also got the beef slices with mushrooms and truffle oil (forgot the name of the dish). This plate was amazing! It came with grilled eggplant and zucchini, a fresh tomato, and then the meat. Everything was well cooked and the meat was perfect. The truffle oil went great with the beef. The food was excellent, but the service was slow. We had to ask for our bread (I think this is automatic in Italy?), we asked for plates for the bread, and we asked 3x for our check. We spent 3 days in Rome, and Piazza Barberini was our neighborhood. Great options in walking distance of our hotel and we were fortunate to find this place while walking down a small street and seeing their rear entrance. The first night here, we had vino roso, caprese, and carbonara. Tonight, Greek salad, gnocchi and lasagna. All were delicious. We just got back from eating at Enoteca Barberini. We were very satisfied with the food and the price. We ordered the Gnocchi alla romana and the saltimbocca. It was not overly crowded on a Sunday night and had a very good atmosphere. We enjoyed some very nice cocktails such as a Moscow mule, Rusty Nail, and the chocolate martini (my favorite). Had the lobster catalana. It was decent, but nothing spectacular. The sauce was lightly salted with very subtle flavor of the sea. The lobster did not taste fishy, but it was not fresh either. It was, however, a bit too chewy. What's nice is that they already had cracked the lobster and taken out the meat for you. No mess there. Service was bad, and waiters often forget about your order, check, etc. Although they do have live upbeat music at night, creating an upbeat environment. Keep in mind this is a bar, lots of drinking and mingling, don't expext any romanticness here. To be honest, I don't want to like a place that's so clearly marketed towards tourists, but I really do love Enoteca Barberini for a quick drink. This was actually my second time here, the first time of which I was led by a drunken group of Americans that I happened to meet after a Greek man inadvertently led me into a subterranean nightclub with exotic dancers (It's all very complicated; you can ask me about it later). The two things I love most about this place are the service and the live music. Simone, in particular, is an incredibly friendly bartender, and always seems to have a smile on his face. The jazz trio is a bunch of fun, even playing the theme to Super Mario Bros. during my last visit. They offer a full bar and a list of wines by the glass starting from 4€ (I did not like the 4€ wine, but the others were tasty). I'm not sure how much cocktails cost, and I don't want to know the price for food. Stick to wine if you're on a budget and it's an affordable option near Piazza Barberini. read more

Came here for dinner on our last night in Rome. It was a good ending to the trip. The restaurant is certainly a little touristy - that can be expected given its location. Of course, that means prices are a little higher than they should be too - but it wasn't too outrageous. Service was friendly and helpful, but a little slow - it took about 10-15 minutes before anyone even greeted us, but after that, it picked up a bit. The food was all pretty good. Nothing mind blowing, but still, enjoyable. Wine selection was fairly extensive and reasonably priced. About halfway through the meal, they started playing live music - it wasn't spectacular, but it was definitely better than the Katy Perry they had been playing before that. I tell ya, nothing screams Rome like Katy Perry and Lorde! It wasn't perfect here, but we had a good meal at a decent price within a couple of blocks of our hotel. This was one of the worst meals we had not only in Rome but all of Italy. The pasta that is not homemade and so salty is was barely edible. The bread was stale and there is zero ambiance.
