    Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe

Had a reservation but that restaurant was under renovation, so we went next door to Caffe Martini. I've read online to avoid restaurants that have workers flagging people down to come inside to dine; mini red flag from the start. For lunch, started with a sparkling campari; not bad. Bread was ehh. Got to try some of the Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe; pretty tasty. Grains are known to be a little more chewy (al dente) in Italy. Ordered the Risotto Gold 22K 1981. You would think the gold flakes would stand out on the risotto. NOPE! A long strand of hair stood out like a sore thumb instead! Savory dish but not crazy about it. Should've ordered extra protein. Overall service and workers were good but food was not memorable. Try to avoid restaurants close to tourist areas.

Food, service and ambiance was top notch. The food was fresh and absolutely delectable! Corina our server was truly amazing! She is knowledgeable of the menu and suggests great options! The lobster and pasta as a main course is magnificent and so succulent! We highly recommend Caffe Martini! Oh, and it is strategically located directly across the street from the Colisseum!

Really nice place directly across from the Colosseum. Everything from hamburgers, the lobster. Definitely has an upscale feeling! Service was OK, pricing a little on my side, but not terrible considering it's location and the quality of the restaurant. Would definitely consider going back if we were in the area.

    A view for the ages!

Had a lovely dinner here during our last day in Rome. Julia was our server- she was amazing! Excellent food, good bar, across the street from the Coliseum. Could not beat it for centuries old ambiance! Thank you so much for a wonderful meal..

Grabbed breakfast here as we were early for our hotel check in and this place was a short three block walk away. In the morning hours, this is on the shady side of the street with outdoor cafe seating with a beautiful vista of the Coliseum directly across the street. A magnificent way to start our Roman holiday. Food and service was mediocre.

    Pizza, and the colosseum

Beautiful views of the colosseum. Very tasty pizza. Given the location, I was expecting something of the tourist trap...so I went in with low expectations and we were all very pleased with everything about Gran Caffee. The bruschetta is a excellent!

This is a quick and convenient spot where you can kill time until your tour of the colosseum. Of course, due to its location, you should expect high prices for basic items. We were quickly seated and got tea and I also ordered a croissant. What I didn't like was that my tea came with cookies, but I didn't get them and was charged €7 for a tea bag and hot water, while my friend received her entire tea package. Since we were pressed for time, I wasn't able to argue and let it go. Don't come here unless you absolutely have to.

We stop by at Caffe Martini after 3 hrs in Coliseo Romano.. rest was full but waiters quickly find the way to seat us in front of the Coliseum.. food and view was amazing.. if you at Rome I recommend you to stop by..

Mario was amazing. We were a few minutes late for our reservation and the restaurant was packed (it was a Saturday night during Juibilee and there was a parade right outside). We were able to be immediately, and although there was no room for our party outside we still got a great table view of the Colosseum. Mario was able to get our food out super fast which was amazing.

Beautiful restaurant good ambiance staff are very attentive & professionals . Food was Amazing fair price , we will defenitely comeback here

The best restaurant in Italy. Honestly, everything about this place is phenomenal. The service, the food, the price, the atmosphere, the fact it's right by the Colosseum - one of the 7 wonders in the world. If you like seafood, this is it. Mussels are delicious. We've been here twice and are planning to come back at least once more before our trip ends. Thank you chef Raymundo, Benedetta and Magdala for the amazing service. You guys are amazing and have made our trip together so great.

    appetizer, pesto ravioli, lobster spaghetti

Stumbled upon this restaurant when arriving to visit the colosseum- no regrets! Had to write a review because I was shocked to find this place only had three stars. The appetizer wasn't anything noteworthy, but the PASTA... out of this world DELICIOUS. We tried the pesto ravioli and lobster spaghetti- two pastas I wouldn't normally order, but so glad I did. It tasted FRESH and kept having you come back for more no matter how full you felt. I liked that the pesto was not very oily like other pestos I've had before. The lobster spaghetti had a good balance where the lobster and the sauce weren't overpowering each other. And that addition of the green sauce added the color and juiciness the dish couldn't live without. I would come back to Italy just for these pastas. That's how good it was. They had outdoor seating and mist which made the experience all the better, if you don't mind all the people passing by. Service was good and friendly. We were able to enjoy a perfect view of the colosseum and enjoy a delicious meal. Would highly recommend!

I have enjoyed the Italian Fanta soda here, which is a more natural beverage compared to the neon orange drink in the states:)

We were lucky enough to grab a table for lunch. We had a margherita, pepperoni, and a burrata with prosciutto pizza. All three were outstanding. The crust, the dough, the toppings - everything tasted fresh and came together perfectly. One of the best, yet simplest meals we've had. They also offer salads, though we didn't try any. The two behind the counter were fun and friendly. They take your order, ask where you're from, and then shout out your location when your food is ready - a really fun touch. Bonus: our table had a USB charging station, which was a really nice surprise while out exploring the city. There's also a small bathroom in the back for customers. This one really hit home. Definitely worth a stop.

Plus, the space is very hot inside, but better to sit near the window or do takeaway. I wasn't very hungry, but wanted one last pizza in Italy. When I saw that this spot does mini pizzas, which means I was able to choose a variety of flavors; I was so excited! Unfortunately, they ran out of the mini pizza dough and only had the large. It really is a shame, because I didn't think the bigger version is worth €15 each. Nonetheless, I ordered the Burrata & Anchovies while the husband got Pepperoni. I really did enjoy the flavor and chewiness of the dough. The burrata also gave it such a nice creaminess to balance the pizza that worked perfectly. Sadly, I had to waste a slice because I couldn't finish the larger pizza, so still a bit upset that I couldn't order the mini. With that said, it's a delicious pizza spot.

Seating area was very small. I was seated in walk way area and it was a bit busy with people going in and out of restrooms. Ordered Carbonara, Genovese and Aperitivo. I had Carbonara for the first time and I m not a big fan of it. I have to try it again to make sure if it's me or the way the dish taste. Genovese was ok, beef stew was inside of a bread. Aperitivo, I chose spritz which came with refreshing cocktails and three little fried pizza. Overall the food tasted acceptable but wait time for Cabonara was long. It must have been like 30 minutes. I was done eating everything and had to just wait for that. The restaurant was small and this is a classic popular dish. I don't think they should take this long.
