More like 4.5! We loved Roscioli and will definitely be back! This restaurant has history as you are dining in an old deli that still operates! While the restaurant is small they space the tables out nicely so it doesn't feel like it. They have an excellent wine selection and a very extensive menu specifically their meats and cheeses. We did not get any antipasto items since my husband's stomach was a bit uneasy, but this is absolutely what you should look at when dining here! They have so many options! Our waiter was very kind but not all that attentive. This restaurant is always busy so it is understandable, from our perspective it looks like she needed some help. To start the night we had a toasted bun with prosciutto and a wonderful cheese (can't really remember what it was called) but it was great! We also got a pesto gnocchi which we loved. I always tread carefully with pesto, sometimes it can be a bit dry, but this was absolutely delicious! For final courses we had the meatballs with polenta and a fish entree that came with a root vegetable! Everything was well executed. Defiantly worth a trip here when in Rome!

This meal was eaten nearly 4 weeks into my stay in Italy. At this point, I had and eaten at many restaurants and also cooked at home using local ingredients, so I'd like to think I had an understanding of the importance of ~INGREDIENTS~ The restaurant is nice with the long tables and benches. Service was odd because despite it being after 8:00pm, one of the servers was moving with the speed of a someone with a either one too many doppio or a freshly powdered nose if you catch my drift. It was unnerving. Even worse, it seemed as though the other servers were looking for him frequently throughout the night and maybe having to make up for him not pulling his weight. However, I am not of a culture where Western/American-style customer service matters, so I don't care about any of this. If the food was amazing, I would not have cared about any of the frou frou around me. Unfortunately, this ended up being the most underwhelming meal I ate in my entire stay in Italy. I was shocked after having such great food in Rome to having such a disappointing meal. The wine was okay. For my main, while the sauce was tasty and made with seemingly fresh vegetables and I appreciated that (hence the extra star), the octopus - which should have been the star of the dish - was rubbery and had the texture, once chewed, of bouncy chewing gum. To me, that is simply appalling. I am from an island. One should not overcook octopus and have the gall to serve it. Unforgivable.

We had the best meal here during our travels in Italy. Tomorrow we leave. Throughout this trip I learned that not all reviews are accurate. We went to many restaurants with high reviews. Most of these restaurants were mediocre. Rimessa Roscioli was fantastic. The wait staff was wonderful. I wish I could mention all of the wonderful staff, but I only remember Francisco. He was so attentive as well as the sommelier. The food was great.. the wine was great. The restaurant ambiance was perfect. Thanks for the best meal after a two week Italy trip!

This was my last meal in Rome before heading back to USA. My friend and I did the wine and dinner pairing. What a great way to the end the trip. Highly recommend making rsvp online at least a few months in advance. They have two seating times: 5pm or 8pm. You will not leave hungry or thirsty. I apologize for not taking pictures of all the food but I think the wine was kicking in. Basically they have you try wine from the different areas of Italy and eat food that goes best with that wine. It lasted two hours. On another note, they will be opening another location in New York City this year.

We did a wine and food pairing. They were super accommodating and allowed children with a separate, child friendly menu. They also allowed sharing of a few wine tastings, because it's just too much wine for some members of our family. The sommelier was super knowledgeable. They have shipping to the US and only ship on cooler temperature months so our shipment will come in September. Highly recommended for wine fans as the prices are super reasonable even with shipping for high quality wines from all over Italy. Also be on time- we couldn't find the place so we had to miss a course- something we are very not used to! Italy is super punctual!

I was extremely disappointed with Rimessa Roscioli. After going to their sister restaurant Roscioli on my second night in Rome, I had high expectations for this spot. We decided to go with some of the recommendations of the server, which in hindsight was probably our big mistake. Their menu is completely different from Roscioli and their pasta does not hold a candle to what I had at the other restaurant. It's a cute restaurant but the moment we walked in and heard English only we knew we were in trouble. They also rushed us out of there so quickly, our entire dinner took about 45 minutes. I felt like I was in the US at a chain restaurant, and that's not a compliment. We ordered the scallops to start, which was probably the best thing we had that evening. We also ordered the beef tartare and it had this very odd soapy flavor to it. It did have sea urchin which I usually absolutely love but this one tasted very weird. Then we ordered the seafood pasta, which was good and flavorful but nothing to write home about. Lastly we had their famed cacio e Pepe and maybe I just came on an off night but it was gloopy and lacked flavor. We were so sad and disappointed. Felt like a tourist trap. TLDR: this place feels like a tourist trap and you're better off going to the original Roscioli

Deliciozo! The carbonara and white fish (cod?) were to DIE for. The pasta was cooked to perfection, a la dente. And the fish skin was so crispy. I couldn't stop raving about it. My group had the tasting menu so we also had a cheese board in the beginning with, of course, lovely bread. The waiters were so attentive and friendly. They were extremely efficient and knowledgeable about what they were serving (explaining what to eat first on the cheese board, and what meats paired with the cheeses). The restaurant itself is extremely swanky. I loved the wine super hero pictures on the wall, and my group and I couldn't stop talking about all the different wines and liquors that spanned the opposite wall. I heard this restaurant had also just opened up in NYC. I'm excited to try that back there, too!

I really really loved this place....the first night. The second night we went back we had terrible service and the food was slightly different. When we go back to Rome we will try it once again and hope it was just a fluke the night we were disappointed. It's such a great spot, great wine choices, and like I said, we loved the place the first night. By far the best carbonara we ate this trip

What an amazing experience. This was my last meal in Rome before heading home, and I was definitely blown away. We did the wine and food tasting and everything was just incredible. We tried 8 different wines and food items, my favorite being the brunello for wine and cacio e pepe pasta dish. The cheeses were lovely that we stared with, the olive oil was delicious and the cured meats were some of the best I tried. It was an awesome experience getting to know others from across the globe. I highly recommend doing the tasting experience, you won't be disappointed.

Food lined shelves in the dining room

One of my nieces had been in Rome recently and highly recommended this restaurant so friends and I made a reservation during a work trip. Our experience was wonderful from start to finish. The dining room is lined with floor to ceiling shelves of canned and jarred local products, which provide not only a cool backdrop but are all for sale. Seating is communal, but with enough space that you don't feel like you're dining with strangers. The wine list is enormous and the staff are happy to help you navigate it. Although service is provided by multiple servers, our primary server made sure everything went smoothly. That included providing a complimentary, and delicious, beef carpaccio appetizer when my grilled mackerel entree took longer for the kitchen to prepare than my friends' meals. The food was delicious, wine paired beautifully with everything, and lingering over the excellent tiramisu while sipping grappa and limoncello was the perfect end to a wonderful meal.

First course pairing: Cheeses served with caramelized onion, olive oil based side, amongst other ingredients.

This was one of our highlights when visiting Rome. We chose the pairing experience were you are able to enjoy wines from different regions within Italy. Along the way, Rimessa takes you thru a pairing journey as stated before, which includes cured meats, cheeses, veggies, pasta, and dessert. Our host/sommelier was amazing and created a very unique ambiance!

We ordered sea bass fillet rolled in zucchini and honey mushrooms. Fish was tender, soft, and delicious with great seasoning. We also ordered Ravioli with white truffles and it was delicious as well. Ravioli tasted like it was freshly made and it tasted great with truffles. Lastly, we got tiramisu for dessert. This tiramisu was prepared by an artist. Just by looking at the dish, it was very pretty to look at. It was presented on a beautiful plate with thin chocolate cookie on top with sugar decoration and underneath was a creamy white tiramisu. I loved this dish because it was unique dessert with great sweet flavor and great presentation. The service was excellent. Everyone was friendly with great attitude and they are attentive. I think they liked the look on my face every time they brought out the dishes because their presentation was great. Whoever was the Chef that night, I would give him or her an award. This restaurant was unique just like Rome. Highly recommended!

We opted for the Roman-style cuisine tasting menu with wine pairings. The service was warm and welcoming, and the ambiance was quiet and romantic. I appreciated the decor, especially the various wine bottles displayed throughout, and I also liked the dishes the food was served on. That said, this restaurant leaned a little too "foodie" for my taste. I also discovered that I really dislike truffles! My husband, on the other hand, enjoyed everything--including my leftovers. The wines were fantastic across the board. I also want to mention the pricing was shockingly affordable for what we got at dinner, which again, included the wine pairing. If you consider yourself a foodie and enjoy creative, thoughtfully prepared dishes, Ristorante Ad Hoc is worth a visit.

This place was so incredible, we went TWICE during our 3 day stay in Rome!…read more We had tried the other "super famous" Italian sandwich spot earlier in our trip and it did NOT deliver. Pane e Salame, however, was delicious!!!! On our first day in Rome, my husband and I decided to search for a lunch spot nearby (we were staying near the Trevi fountain), and I found this place had pretty good reviews. We got there about an hour after it opened and requested a seat outdoors. They have a tiny patio across from their entrance, but they fit quite a bit of people in it! We initially wanted to order two sandwiches to try more items, but I'm glad we just shared one - they were big and filling! We also had the small charcuterie board to share which was plenty of food for us both. We shared a bottle of rose, and all in all, we paid under $50 (usd) - what a steal! This was the perfect first meal in Rome. The food was incredibly fresh, the service was great, and the outdoor seating allowed us to experience the streets of Rome. 10/10 - would absolutely go back.

Our sandwiches were cut in half and one half was big enough to make the average person full. We got five sandwiches for only about €30! The place was not a tourist trap, but i have to say, the seats at the booth were uncomfortable to me, and the place was a bit small. Sorry i do not have photos. But overall, I would recommend to go here.
