Great place, great food, and great service heres all the items I've had which were delicious and fresh!

THE MEXICAN GUEY Burger. So sexy.

If you're up North in the Eureka/Arcata California area, hit up this food truck NOW. Definitely the best burgers in the area, nobody else even comes close. Fair prices too, a lot cheaper than every other food truck for 100 miles. My favorite is the THE MEXICAN GUEY Burger. It's Perfect combination Of Humboldt Grass Fed Beef with Pork Chorizo, Cheese, Onion, Cilantro, Lettuce, Tomatoes and Homemade Spicy Mayo. Do it! Oh yeah!

I came here on a Friday afternoon after reading all the great reviews on Yelp. Roman's Kitchen is located in a cul de sac and nearby Humboldt State University. I like spicy foods and thought the Inferno Burger would be good since it had jalapeños and pepper jack cheese in it! The burger came out shortly and it was nice and juicy. The ingredients in the burger tasted fresh and I definitely enjoyed the burger. There are tables next to the food truck where you can enjoy your meal. There is no restroom in the area or a place to wash your hands, so bring some hand sanitizer! Yes, the prices are a bit expensive. Food prices are going up everywhere and we are lucky to still have delicious food being served due to the pandemic! I would definitely come back if I am in the area to try the other menu items.

I practically inhaled the Teriyaki pineapple burger!! Yummy! I did wish it came with some fries or something on the side for the price of a $9 burger! The reason I gave this establishment a few stars is b/c I was willing to try more of their items off their menu unfortunately they said those dishes are only sold as specials at a specific time of the week! That made me so sad since Yelp shoes so many delicious plates! The two men who assisted me with my order were quite nice and young lady who called my order up seemed sweet Overall prices were high and the taste was no so bad. I have a feeling I have yet to try more dishes to truly give a full honest review

Went to the plaza for something else and realized it was Halloween early evening as the place was packed with kids young and old in costumes the center is completely blocked off and impossible to access, oh well let's find some food... there it is Roman's food truck and it's relatively quiet and actual parking! This little burger joint is one of the best burgers around. What an opportune time to stop, two bacon cheeseburgers one with no onions and one with no tomatoes or onions, with an order of french fries to go please. Literally in no time at all, piping hot and made fresh to order, we snag our bounty and head to the house. The smell's worth the effort alone, opening the box slowly - there they are, golden brown lightly seasoned strings of crispy crunchy outside, with delicious soft potato inside. The fries are are worth it alone. Moments later, at home and a few fries lighter the burgers emerge from their boxes, they look good the buns lightly grilled on top, the cheddar melted over the bacon on top of the local grass-fed Humboldt beef patty on a bed of lettuce resting on the other half of the grilled golden brown bun. Cooked medium, the only downside lacking salt, this is a good cheeseburger and for the price by comparison a bargain for the area. Two made to order bacon cheeseburgers with fries for under $20 bucks! 4 Stars - worth a visit whenever you're looking for a good hamburger. 00597

Since we have moved to Humboldt County, we have been here well over 30 times. I look forward to coming here, it is our go to place when we come down the hill. I have yet to have something bad here, and what I have had makes me salivate when I think about it, heck, I am getting hungry now. So if you want a place to eat in or near Arcata, CA. this is the place. In fact if you are on the 101 and you are between Crescent City and Garberville, you might just want to wait until you get to Arcata to eat.

Overall, the food was very good, it was packed well, and it came quickly. Unfortunately, the order came with no plastic silverware, no napkins, just the food. Did they not see that this was going to a motel? Fortunately, I had a plastic fork from another meal, and I just used TP for napkins. Please pay a little bit more attention to the details. I decided to go with the à la Mexicana omelette, which had spicy beef, cheese, salsa, diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, sour cream, olives, and green onions. Basically, a "taco omelette." it also came with jalapeños, but I put in the comments to please leave them out, and they did. To drink, I had a "Tutti Frutti", which was orange and cranberry juice, with Sprite. The omelette was very good. They were generous with all of the ingredients. I love a good "taco omelette", and this was right up there with others that I have had. The eggs were tender, the beef and the salsa had just a little bit of a spice, just enough that I knew it was there. I liked the sour cream And The lettuce and the diced tomato provided a nice "pop" of freshness. I loved the drink. The orange and the cranberry played very well together, and they didn't put in so much sprite that it watered down the rest of the flavors. The hashbrowns were OK, just generic restaurant hashbrowns, and I wish they would've given me a choice of the bread when I ordered. I would've mentioned it in the comments, but I didn't think about it. It was just your standard white toast. It was OK, but I would've preferred like a nice sourdough, or rye, or something like that. They have a lot of things on their menu, and I would definitely order from here again, either delivery or in person. Thank you.

I decided on The Backwood burger from their Signature Burgers menu with a side of curly fries. After taking the first bite, I instantly knew this was something I'd be more than willing to throw my money at again and again. Welcome to the world of gourmet, locally-sourced burgers. "Wow" is truly an understatement. My burger was packed with so much flavor - the burger patty felt luxurious, almost like I was eating a steak. The onion rings and bacon in the burger had a satisfying crunchiness and sweetness that was accompanied by an amazing BBQ sauce. I have absolutely no complaints about the burger - eating it was a delightful experience. The curly fries were also good - a steady, basic accompaniment to the burger without too much flavor on their own. However, what the curly fries lacked in flavor they made up for in bulk. And honestly, I don't know what I would have done if the curly fries were as dressed up as my burger anyways...I probably would have lost my mind completely. I ordered my burger for takeout, so I can't speak to the indoor vibe of the restaurant. But what I will say is that I will DEFINITELY be eating here again, and if you're on the fence about eating here/picking up food from here, go ahead and treat yourself!

What a gem. My wife and I were traveling to Mckinnleyville and came across this amazing eatery…read more At first we were drawn in my the vibe, just as wild as the lost coast. Inside did not disappoint, several different seating areas, all well decked out for different ambiance. Even though it was a packed Vakentines day, and we had no reservations were seated immediately, and the service seemed to be waiting for us. We sat at the huge, live edge red wood bar so we could enjoy the free live music, Angela and Co. killed it. The Valentines day prefix, lasagna with truffle salad and flour less cake looked amazing, but since we only had the one night, we decided on the food that put Papa Wheelies on the map. I had the basic burger, the Eel River Grass Feed beef burger, and it did not let me down. As soon as the beef hit the grill I could smell the quality. Perfectly prepared with sublime execution, just enough of all the right flavors. I can not recall ever having a better burger that I did not make myself. My wife had the Brie Burger that was voted best in Humboldt County, amd we found out why. Same grass fed beef, but cover in brie, chopped bacon and jalapeño pepper jelly. Perfectly seared, just enough pink for a flavor that exploded in your mouth. I have to mention here, that I hate messy burgers, that fall apart and get all over you. Well not at Papa Wheelies. Despite all those toppings is some how stayed together until the very last bite. We were pretty stuffed, but the band played on and the atmosphere was infectious. The menu had seemed sparce at first, but as I looked I relealized that it rambles all around the room, with hidden specials in every corner. In one we discovered the Poutine, made with real cheese curds and LOCAL mushroom gravy, amsntheirbf amousnhandncut fried, we just had to. In the end it was a bridge to far and we had to take most of it to go, but now I can't wait to eat it cold tomorrow. Papa Wheelies isn't just great food, good prices and great times, it is a serious piece of McKinnleyville society, from the localy made ingredients like apple cider vinegar syrup in their mock tails, the mushrooms, chicken and beef as well as the lemon ginger Kombocha, it is as much about their lo al community as it about friends getting together to relax and unwind.
