We were seated in a high top across from the bar. Our server, Hannah, was pleasant and cordial. My wife ordered the southwestern salad and I ordered a burger with a $2 upgrade to make the tater tots "garlic". Her salad comes and is much smaller than expected for $18. My burger came and I ordered it medium rare and it was well done. I sent it back to be refired to the proper temp and while I waited I ate the tater tots. I expected a $2 upcharge to be at least fresh garlic but it was garlic powder. On top of that, when I finished the tots(before the second burger) there was a pool of oil at the bottom of the basket plus 2 pools that leaked onto the table. The refired burger came back via a food runner, not a manager, and this burger was also not medium rare but I was hungry so I ate it. When we let Hannah know about the out l oil she explained that they regularly are cleaning up oil and not to worry about it. I'll be going to the Muffin House down the road from now on. You should also.

So while in Marlborough I stopped by and thought how bad can it be..? I was like 10 min away and got a burger (tried to) get one for my companion that was medium rare. Was told that they can't give takeout orders as that temperature cause they continue to cook in the container.....the container is the burger wrapped in foil in a paper box..never heard that from ANY restaurant so they must have unique patties..-anyway..got that burger and it was a hockey puck and for $25 come on at least give it the temp I request instead of a culinary abomination for the price. First off the patties (as others complained re: the beef ones) are so tiny and thin and I usually don't like the toppings on the new one but this burger was so small and sad and lacking ANY toppings so I ate it cause it was basically a tuna steak on a soggy bun with like 10 shaved carrot slaw pieces. Ugh. I will not be returning the prices are oof for what you get. My meal should have been like $14 max. It was $21. I wish I took a picture because it was so sad you would have to see it to believe it.

You know what came up when I Googled "veggie burger in Hudson"?…read more Gauchao Burgers. A Brazilian burger place where their burgers are the size of Trump's ego, and the toppings are so messy you legit need to eat it in a bathtub. The last time I had one of these incredible concoctions, my deck looked like the buffet station after a wedding. I HIGHLY doubted that a place which prided itself on beef, layered with beef, with 20 slabs of bacon on top was going to actually offer veggie burgers...but they did! And I was dying to see what the Brazilian burger version of a veggie burger might be. $18 for a veggie burger with no sides (before tip) felt a little steep, until I lifted the bag and almost gave myself tendonitis. This thing was DENSE. The woman asked me if I wanted an extra side of "green sauce." I had no idea what it was, but I'm all about weird sauces so I nodded yes. I got home, and opened it up. The roll for this thing was massive, and lightly sweet. It was sloppy, in the best way: covered in that green sauce, with tons of cheese, a whole tomato, and raw onion. The veggie patty itself was huge, made from scratch, filled with carrots and peas. I don't normally love veggie burgers where you can see all the ingredients, but this one was REALLY good. It was also...almost an afterthought. Remember back in the day, when Burger King offered "veggie Whoppers"? And really, it was just a Whopper without the burger, but with all the other ingredients aside from that? This was kind of like that: the sweet bread, delicious cheese, and incredible sauce tasted so great together, you didn't really care about the actual burger. I would absolutely go back for another one of these, and if my gallbladder could still handle a giant burger without retribution? I'd be there all the time. For you burger lovers: this place is a must-go. Even if you're not a beef fan, their chicken sandwiches are next level. Gauchao is tucked away on a side street filled with triple deckers, a total hidden gem. You'll never simply stumble upon it, even though it's only 4 minutes from Hudson center. Go. You won't regret it.

Known locally as "The Chat," it's tucked away in a neighborhood overlooking Dudley Pond, in what began life as a private fishing lodge nearly a century ago before becoming a speakeasy and eventually the local institution it is today. It definitely shows its age--and I mean that affectionately. (The Dudley Chateau) The building is well worn, it gets packed, it can be loud, and yes, the restrooms have seen better days. None of that has stopped us from coming back several times a year. Why? Because the food is consistently excellent, and so is the service. The menu goes well beyond what you'd expect from a neighborhood pub, and we've yet to leave disappointed. The staff somehow manages to stay friendly, attentive, and efficient even when the place is buzzing. The Dudley Chateau isn't trying to be trendy or upscale, and that's part of its charm. It's comfortable in its own skin, and so are the people who keep coming back. If you're looking for spotless, quiet, and polished, this probably isn't your place. But if you're looking for great food, friendly service, and a genuine local institution with plenty of character, it's absolutely worth the visit.

In looking at the menu I really could not decided because all the burgers sounded amazing! I ended up ordering the Phenomenal Burger which has bacon, smoked gouda, fried egg, frizzled onion, sweet chili ranch all on a brioche bun. I arrived about 20 minutes after ordering. I walked into the beautiful red brick building where The Fix is located. The restaurants overall ambiance was very welcoming- The staff just as nice! This is not just a 1 review kind of place- The Phenomenal burger was SO GOOD that I went back the next day and had The Stark Burger which had 2 (1/4 patties) with double pepper jack cheese, red onion, thinly sliced jalapeno, bacon, chipotle mayo on a brioche bun! Randomly found this food truck parked in another lot during the off season. Seems like the only…read moresource of information on this place is directly on their website that gets updated maybe twice a year. Haven't found a facebook page or anything else. Waited and kept checking to see when they would open and finally they did in June. Showed up and they only take cash, no meat combo meals, had to be a half rack of ribs, and menu was almost exclusively burgers and fries. So I gave my hopes up and figured this place must not be worth it. Happened to be driving by one day and happened to have cash on me. Figured I'd check it out just to know for certain what I was missing. Just so happened that a meat combo was the "Special" of the day. 1/4 rack and pulled pork which was pretty much all they had for actual "BBQ" stuff. I don't consider burgers part of BBQ. And now I'm looking at their menu online which has been updated and they now serve Brisket on Friday and Saturday nights. And they change up their sides every week. Happened to catch them with Baked Beans and Pasta Salad that day. Ribs were 3 bones for a 1/4 rack. Slathered and char grilled quite a bit, which are 2 things I don't want on ribs. But damn it was good for a charred rib. Meat was as tough as you expect it to be for a rib all charred up but the sauce had a sweet fun heat kick to it. The kind of heat that doesn't burn at all but it feels like it might. Fruity sensation to it too. Other parts were a bit more tender and I think the original pork flavor gets a little lost in these ribs. With the char and the sauce it was hard to find a real good pork flavor but it was still very good. Pulled Pork was exactly how it was supposed to be, not completely torn apart, still big chunks that are soft and easy. Seasoned well, very moist, great pork flavor and seasoning flavor. Exactly the kind of pulled pork I want. Side of sauce wasn't completely necessary but I tried it on the pork. Thick style, I don't think it was the same stuff as on the ribs. But it was sweet and slow and did it's job. Pasta Salad was excellent. This was legit homemade Italian grandma olive oil style. Cut up peppers, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, Fussilie pasta. Flavor and texture made the stuff so easy to eat I could have just face planted myself into it. Beans looked amazing. Obviously some pulled or shredded meat, I want to say brisket. Maple and Brown Sugar flavors hit the tongue instantly, It was crazy. Tiny hint of smokey flavor from the brisket. Pinto beans could have used a tad bit longer in the pot but it wasn't a deal at all, just a preference. Slaw had a great sweet vinegar taste like any good slaw would. Pretty much only cabbage shreds but honestly who can tell the taste between carrots and radish when they've been pickling in the same juice. Slaw was gone before I could even think about it anymore ... so that should tell you something. Surprisingly good food truck. I just hate that it's cash only, I completely understand why, and that the sides change every week and it's not updated anywhere. But I will have to go back and try their burgers and fries and brisket and hotdogs soon.

Sides on our visit included cole slaw, fries, cucumber salad, and baked beans. The half-rack of 8 ribs was generous, meaty, smoky, with a very nice, sweet, southern-style sauce brushed-on and also provided as a bonus dip. While the *flavors* were lovely in the slaw, beans, and BBQ sauce, the cuke salad had very little if any dressing, the beans seemed undercooked, and the ribs were overcooked. Ribs should be fall-off-the-bone tender, and we had to tear at every bone. Mind you, we picked them clean because, again, the flavor was good. But definitely overly dry, indicating a too-hot, too-fast cooking this time out. Easy-to-miss this BBQ trailer tucked into the far leafy corner of White's Sugar House & Farm Stand parking lot just before Route 202 if you're going east on Route 119. There aren't always practical street addresses in this mostly rural area, and the old farm sign is all but buried by the surrounding tree growth in summer. Slow up as you approach the lighted intersection, and keep your eyes peeled for the Old Fitzwilliam Rd street sign, even though it's just the driveway. Despite the dry ribs, we prefer indie places to chains, so we are still glad to have tried it. Southern sauce this good is harder to come by up north.

All the patrons in the place were happy and the crew was meeting customers with smiles and efficiency. As I waited in line I could see that a young teen in front of me who was ordering his lunch was coming up a bit short with the money needed to pay for the food he planned to get. He had a ziplock full of change that he had brought to buy his lunch. Before I could step in to offer to cover the difference he needed the man up front who I assumed was the manager calmly and without pause or judgement said that it was ok and that he would take care of things for the boy and that things were all set. The young woman at the register also was helpful and kind to the teen. I thought their demeanor and kindness was great and it made my day.
