Everything here was so damn good!! The oysters are a MUST. The ramen was so flavorful. The deviled eggs were so creamy. The drinks were unique and strong. 10/10. Service was exceptional. I'm so pissed that I didnt realize they used to have an NYC location until last year. We came back twice on our vacation. Thats how stellar the food was!! You literally cant go wrong wirh anything on the menu. The noodles with sea urchin are an absolute must too. Please open a second location and return back to NYC!!

Such a good restaurant. Definitely try this place. I loved the ambiance. It felt classy, trendy, romantic, cool. Good for date night or catch up with a friend. I went for early dinner with a friend. We caught the happy hour oyster special. The oysters were a little on the smaller side and I wish they gave more toppings portions (too little amount was given). Our meals were heavenly, so delicious. We ate the entire dish. Perfect amount. Looks small when you get it, but it's not. I got the sea urchin and salmon roe. I will get this dish a thousand times. Service was good. Parking...well I Ubered there. It's in the beginning of Waikiki right next to Hard Rock Cafe. There's the Parking lot/Valet near Yardhouse, or the Royal Hawaiian garage.

I came across this hidden gem recently and decided to give it a try since I usually avoid Waikīkī food scene in general. The ambiance of the restaurant was sophisticated but modern. I normally don't drink but decided to enjoy a cocktail. The Melon and Prosciutto got my eye. And wow what a delicious drink! Sweet and savory with the bite of the prosciutto. The menu of this restaurant was not large but all the dishes were well executed. The oysters were so fresh. Tip: they have daily happy hour special for oysters from 5 pm to 6 pm. If you are an oyster lovers, you won't be disappointed. My buddy and I sampled other appetizers like scallop ceviche and cotton candy mussels. They both blew my mind in terms of presentation and favors. The only thing it would have topped it off was some toasted bread for the leftover broth from the mussels. I didn't want to waste it so I just spooned it off to satisfy my taste bud. It was so yummy. For the entrees, my buddy had Sapporo Ramen. Again, it was full of umami. I had the Wagyu and bone marrow ramen. It was very rich and savory. Just a heads up, this restaurant does not serve dessert but you can find plenty options while in Waikiki. They have two-hour free validation across the street at Bank of Hawaii building. If you are craving for fine cocktails, delicious modern Japanese food, you should give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

Waikiki is sooo lucky to have Rokc. Everything about this place is truly elevated. The service is phenomenal, only to be roped by the mind blowing food and drinks. The watermelon & Coconut cocktail as well as the Banana and Miso are my faves, incredibly complex. The pork Bun is by far the best bao I've ever had, no question. First time in my life I've actually enjoyed tartar sauce. The oysters and Yokosuka ramen were also great. I can't wait to try more things but the pork bun is the only thing I want lately haha

We had a pretty good time at the Rokc. The food was slightly unique and mixed drinks are delicious. Services were helpful and courteous.

One of my new favorite places in Waikiki! Newly founded by Joji Watanabe, a Japanese mixologist and restaurateur who relocated from NYC where he started NR and ROKC. As the name suggests, they specialize in ramen, oysters, and specialty cocktails. They are most known for their wide selection of clarified milk punches, which were fantastic. We had the Smokey Pina Colada ($18) and Banana & Miso ($18), both fantastic. All of the food was also delicious, including the ramen, scallop ceviche, and pork bun. Can't wait to come back!

Came here on a whim since my boss suggested it! Cool new place with speakeasy vibes. They had a great selection cocktail options including a page just for clarified drinks. All the drinks were made tasty. We ordered a round of oysters for the table, they were really fresh. For the mains, I got the bone marrow wagyu dry ramen which was fabulous. Very rich, buttery, and umami. I wish the portions were just a little bit bigger. Some others also got the shio ramen, I was able to try some and it tasted like very solid shio ramen. I didn't get to try enough to give it a full rating but from what I just got, it was flavorful too. Not too heavy but the perfect amount of satisfaction. Cool spot to come hang and grab some drinks! Loved the interior design, it felt very intimate.

My boyfriend and I recently visited ROKC Hawaii after hearing it was named one of the best bars in Hawaiʻi, and it definitely lived up to the hype. From the moment we walked in, we loved the atmosphere. The space has a cozy, intimate feel with a unique New York-meets-Tokyo vibe that makes it perfect for date night or a night out with friends. The cocktails were exceptional. My favorite was the Melon Prosciutto--it was refreshing, creative, and unlike anything I've had before. You can tell a lot of thought goes into both the flavors and presentation. The food was just as impressive. We visited during oyster happy hour (5-7 PM), which was a great deal, but the standout dish for me was the mussels. They were served in a cotton candy-infused broth that was incredibly unique and absolutely delicious. It's one of those dishes you'll still be thinking about days later. The service was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, and it was fun watching the bartender craft the cocktails. Overall, ROKC delivered on every level: amazing drinks, incredible food, great service, and a memorable atmosphere. We'll definitely be back and will be recommending it to friends and family. Highly recommend!

    Uni and Ikura Ramen

This was a very pleasant find in Waikiki. Decided to head here with friends after a work event. Nice space, friendly service and great food and drinks. We enjoyed the fresh oysters, deviled eggs with Ikura and Uni, karaage chicken, and luxurious uni and Ikura ramen. Everything was well prepared and very good. Check this place out if you're in the area.

Came here hungry and left very happy. Everything we ordered hit the spot, but a few things really stood out. The chicken karaage was perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy inside, not greasy at all. Seasoning was on point and it paired so well with the dipping sauce -- honestly hard to stop eating. The truffle egg sando was rich, fluffy, and indulgent in the best way. The truffle flavor was balanced (not overpowering), and the eggs were soft and creamy between pillowy bread. Comfort food elevated. Don't sleep on the mussels with sauce -- so flavorful and satisfying. The sauce was incredible, and we definitely made sure to soak up every last bit. Fresh, well-cooked, and generously portioned. To top it off, the yuzu mocktail was super refreshing -- bright, citrusy, and perfectly balanced. A great non-alcoholic option that didn't feel like an afterthought. Overall, great flavors, solid execution, and food that feels both comforting and elevated. Would absolutely come back just for these dishes alone.

Mixologist Joji was amazing at his craft. Cocktails were perfectly balanced. Enjoyed to the last drop. Others food around me looked amazing. We only tried the cocktails as we just ate. Service was 5 !!!! Loved the Japanese moody vibe. Super clean too!! Come try this new place out!!

We stumbled into this restaurant on a random walk and were pleasantly surprised by the ambience, the food and service. The mussels and egg sandwiches are a must try. The ramen was tasty and decently portioned. Prices were very fair! We will be back!

Not even kidding ... best meal I have ever had in the island... maybe of all time. They just opened Jan 2026 and moved from NY. I could eat this menu everyday for the rest of my life and die happy. Food: - oysters: came with cocktail sauce, lemon and a shallot/vinegarrette sauces. Wish it had a horse radish and for that it looses a point but i would still order this fresh seafood dish every time. 9/10 - Beer cotton candy muscles: 10/10 (everything about this made my tastebuds dance) a tangy yuzu mixed with a savory beer broth with the perfect sweet and salty bite if muscle - perfection. -Bao buns: 9/10 - more for the picky eater. No complaints but nothing special. A perfectly cooked piece if pork on a fluffy bao bun with a creamy mayo like sauce. Delish. - tokyo ramen: 10/10 it came with the most perfect jammy egg, umami bamboo shoots, loads of green onions and the perfectly cooked and cut noodles and broth. The soup was seasoned to perfection. Even my hubby loved it and he isn't a big ramen guy. Service: PHENOMENAL - he walked through the menu, gave the best suggestions and was very attentive. Drinks: talk to the server, they will give you the best tips. The Truffle and the Melon&prosciutto are pairings and are def worth the try. Truffle comes with cheese and the melon comes with a dried prosciutto. I loved the honeydew flavor if the melon one. Ambiance: i went on a date here with my husband and i couldn't imagine a more romantic place to spend a night out without the kid. The lighting was dim and candled, the art was a masterpiece and the bathroom was clean. Everything about this place was perfect even the music. Saxophone... very nice touch. You will find a place with the best cocktails or the best food... but this place had BOTH! I almost don't want to share this gem but that would be a disservice to this mastery.

To my surprise, on a Sunday evening after having dinner nearby at Maze, my wife and I walked over to Bar Leather Apron and we were able to get seated right away! In fact, around 7:30 p.m. when we stopped by, there was actually a ton of seating available in the bar. Who would've guessed. If you're in the same boat as me and are unable to find a reservation for your upcoming visit, I would encourage you to stop by and try a walk-in. The first page of the menu lists a wide variety of whiskey based cocktails. Most -- if not all, of the cocktails are pre-fixed with BLA (Bar Leather Apron), and represent a collaboration with the named distillery. If you're fan of whiskey, you'll definitely have a difficult time picking only one. I ultimately ordered their "Take Warning" -- 2021 BLA Knob Creek BLA Single Barrel, Cynar, Carpano Antica, Mezcal, Bergamot Salt. Drinks here are not cheap -- averaging $20 to $25 per drink. Although my drink was very spirit forward, it still felt very well balanced. I appreciated the hint of smokiness from the mezcal that rounded out the end of a sip. Service here quick and friendly. When we received the check, a cute small chocolate snack was brought over as well, borrowed from the menu at Maze. Overall, I can see why Bar Leather Apron has earned so many accolades in its field. Definitely worth a stop by if you enjoy the art of mixology.

That's a shame because it has the potential to be very good. When you start with a cocktail concept that is deliberately kept low key with no signage, and a drink menu that rotates and evolves, you have a pretty good floor to start. Having a cozy place to settle in and being able to enjoy food from Chris Kajioka should give 430 Pkwy a high ceiling. If you like an espresso martini try something a little different. Their Espressing My Love batches espresso with Averna, black walnut bitters, and a unique monkeypod syrup. Unfortunately, there is no espresso machine so you cannot get fresh drawn espresso to make a Carajillo the way Cafe Miro use to. The ahi brioche is a carry over from all Chris Kajioka places. The grilled cheese is excellent. Hotdogs are kicked up - it used to be a black truffled miso chicken sausage but the current one is a little different. The problem is the food preparation totally undermines the whole place. Without a separate kitchen you have frying being done just a few feet away from where cocktails are made. If you sit on the right side of the bar you will quickly understand why this doesn't work. I would come here more frequently if i didn't have to smell like cooking oil afterwards. Fix that problem and this place would rock.

Apparently you're normally supposed to put a coin in to open the secret door, but it's broken right now, so the whole vending machine just swings right open. Slightly less secret, but still very cool. Inside is where this place really shines. Moody lighting, a giant orange tree in the middle of the room, Japanese hip hop playing in the background (I want to steal this entire playlist), and extremely cool and friendly servers and bartenders. I've been to a few other attempted "speakeasies" in Honolulu, but most are basically just dark bars with a fun door or code word. Wild Orange actually has the VIBES to make the whole concept work. Definitely worth coming just to hang out and chill. They have a full bar and an extensive specialty cocktail menu. Tried the Purple Dragon, made with ube liqueur and coconut cream. Very sweet--a little TOO sweet for my taste--but tasty and pretty. Probably should have listened to the menu and kept it as a shot, but I wanted something I could sip on for a while and chill. The Umeshu Highball was also very pretty and tasty. My friend who works as a sake distributor was impressed with their selection of good sake, so of course we had to order a bottle. Our server brought it out in an ice bucket, kept it off to the side, and completely served it for us throughout. Very classy. The food menu is fun and creative, but unfortunately not really for me because it's entirely vegan. Most times, but ESPECIALLY when I'm drinking, I want MEAT. Tried the Wild Musubi, a vegan Spam musubi. I'm not actually sure what the "meat" was. Possibly fried tofu? Whatever it was, it was definitely a passable alternative, but would have been 100x better if it were just plain old Spam. It also falls victim to what I find is a common problem with vegan attempts at Japanese food: anything teriyaki ends up being way too treacly sweet without actual meat or seafood to ground it in reality. Also tried the Char Siu Tofu Bao, fried tofu in a red Chinese-style char siu sauce on fluffy white buns. Again, fun and certainly not bad, but these would be 1000x better with actual pork. If Wild Orange had this exact same creative food menu but carnivore edition, this place would probably be 7/5 stars for me. That being said, I know being vegan will actually be a huge draw for some people, and I appreciate that the food is creative rather than just the usual sad vegan afterthoughts. Parking is pretty easy by Honolulu standards. It's inside Hawaiian Brian's, so there's a large shared parking lot. That being said, you might still have trouble finding a spot during peak gym hours since you're competing with all the 24 Hour Fitness customers. All in all, I LOVE this place. Definitely a fun stop--first, middle, only, or nightcap--on a chill night out. Will absolutely be adding Wild Orange into the rotation of places to bring out-of-town guests when I want to impress them with something cool and different. The vegan menu probably means it'll be a couple-times-a-year place for me rather than a regular haunt. But for drinks, service, atmosphere, and pure VIBES? 20/10.
