The reason for the 5 star rating: happy hour. The gyoza, tacos, sushi rolls, chicken lettuce wraps... all delicious options for a great price if you come during happy hour. Still delicious any other time, but happy hour. I will say the sushi options are limited to the fish that are available in the entrees. The rolls are very good, but I wouldn't recommend going to Roka solely for the sushi. In addition to happy hour, the Monday night burger night is also worth checking out. The burger has some heat! Definitely different than any other burger night burger you'll encounter in the 918. In summary, think of Roka between 3-6pm and on Monday nights. read more

Happy hour all day on Wednesday's! We started with a Mai Tai and 1/2 liter of punch. Punch was delicious but the Mai Tai tasted like straight rum. Our potsticker appetizer was good!! Our entree we tried a different type of roll the yakitori roll and it was phenomenal!! Who would have thought that pineapple salsa topped on sushi would be a hit!! We ended with dessert and had the almond roka cheesecake and it was phenomenal as well! Two drinks, an appetizer, roll, and dessert for $42!! What a steal!! Service was great as well! Honestly, I was pretty stoked to write this review, thinking this was going to instantly become one of our favorite places in Tulsa to eat. My wife has an EXTREME gluten allergy, and the fact that Roka has a pretty good selection of GF dishes, PLUS the fact that my wife LOVES Asian food so we were looking forward to dinner. Yes, we did opt to have our meal delivered rather than eat in Roka's dining room and yes... we fully expect that food delivered isn't quite as good as when you eat in an establishment, but even still we were EXTREMELY disappointed in our order. My "go-to" in a lot of Asian places is Pad Thai. I've had a lot of the Pad Thai dishes from the places around town who offer them. Mistakingly, I was assuming that Roka's version of this dish would be ranked near the top for Tulsa Pad Thai. When my wife placed the order, she requested that my dish was "extra spicy." Granted, we're not even sure that is something they will do in their kitchen, but when my dinner arrived not only was it not "extra" spicy, but it had no spice at all. Yeah, the Pad Thai was fairly bland compared to other Pad Thai around town. The GF sushi my wife ordered made a short stop on her dinner tray, and then went immediately into the trash. It was HORRIBLE and she couldn't even force it down. Sad and disappointing. We can say that the lettuce wraps were decent (far from being as good as P.F.Chang's, but what do you expect?). My wife ordered me a piece of bread pudding for me to have as a dessert. I can say it was pretty good, but it wasn't so good it can justify the money we dropped ordering dinner from Roka. So basically our dinner experience from Roka, that we were so jazzed to try, ended with us eating breakfast cereal for our dinner. We wont be trying this joint out again. It quickly made the "Never Again" list. read more

"I Yelp, therefore I am here." The reviews were wonderful, so I decided to check it out. The sheer size of the restaurant is quite impressive in comparison with other restaurants I've visited in Tulsa, which is not that many:) Actually the interior is more impressive. The decor is Japanese everywhere you look at it, I mean, literally. When you walk in, you see a samurai wielding a sword at the bar ... it is a life-size stature. So it's as real as you can get. Inside, you see numerous Japanese items such as colorful parasols, bamboo sticks, flower pots, water jars, the lights, and many others I don't know how to name. The tables, chairs, and the booths are all well-designed to enhance the ambience. As for food, I ordered the dragon roll. It was plated visually appetizing. On top were the light green avocado, yellowish sriracha sauce, and dark green onion pieces. When you eat it, it tasted rich and creamy from the avocado and cream cheese, plus the fresh pink tuna and vinegar sushi rice. I also asked for their red chilli, which is made in house. Not too hot with a hint of sweetness. It went really well with the sushi. The black tea is fruity, sweet, and refreshing. What was unique was it came in a black box-like cast iron tea pot on a small wood board. Since it was all solid metal, I had to lift it carefully to pour. Don't think the tea pot is small. It carries quite a bit of liquid inside. One thing I found it off was the music. With so much Japanese going on around you, the music they play is western! Fortunately it was not hard rock. I'm not sure if they are trying maintain the Yin and Yang balance. The waitress was very attentive and courteous. The food, decor, service were all above my expectation. Overall, I greatly enjoyed my dining experience. To you, I highly recommend this place. Go check it out. read more

Our family of five dined at Roka recently. We had been wanting to try it for quite some time. We had a nice corner round booth along with a very friendly and helpful server. We started with potstickers, and mains were a salmon dish, lo mein, chicken wings, a sushi roll, a ramen/soup dish, mei fun, and bread pudding and lava cake and gelato for dessert. All dishes were best described as "okay," and for the price point of Roka, it was not quite worth the premium price. Service was very good, but there was something lacking for the experience of more upscale Asian fusion. They have a nice sized bar, so it may be a fun place to meet for happy hour and maybe have some starters. read more

The first time I came here, I had firecracker tofu. This is one of the chef's choices and the portion is huge. I recommended this to my co-worker and he really likes it too. I had really good experience the first time so I came back the second time. This time, I had kimchi BBQ burger and kimchi fries. The food I had this time was not as good as the first time. I asked for medium rare burger but I got more like medium burger. Also, even tho it indicates in the menu that it's spicy, it was not spicy at all. About kimchi fries, it was a little bit soggy. I can see the idea of kimchi fries is similar to Poutines but I was not impressed with this dish. My co-worker had ramen this time and she also didn't like it. Ramen in here is different from ramen in most places I have ever tried. This bowl of ramen had more noodles than the soup so it was a little hard to eat. The service in my second visit was also slower than the first time. Probably because we came with more people and it was a little late this time. Overall, I recommend firecracker tofu, kungpao chicken (since one of my co-workers really likes it). I dont really like ramen, kimchi burger and kimchi fries. We really enjoyed our experience here at the Rocha bar. We had been here earlier when it was TK's but has been a while. The interior remains familiar but I love the addition of the booth seating and the menu. There are a lot of appetizers and great lunch options. I got the broccoli beef. The sauce was fantastic but the broccoli was very tough, almost as if it were fried and hard to chew. My husband got the Kung pow chicken- his was very yummy although not spicy as expected. We have driven by this place on numerous occasions, and today for her Birthday, my wife decided we should do lunch here. We were NOT disappointed! Our waitress, Becca, was VERY courteous and knowledgeable. I ordered the Steak Frites (grilled tenderloin, on top of sesame fries, with a glazing of Japanese hollandaise sauce), my wife got the glazed asparagus salad. Great decor sets the mood. Potstickers were very plump, nicely brown on one side and served with an excellent ginger soy sauce. Roka roll was good but no pickled ginger. The green curry with shrimp and chicken was probably the best I have ever had. The small serving was more than I could eat. This dish is spicy, the sauce is rich, deep in flavor and robust. An interesting twist was the addition of pineapple. That may not be my favorite part of the dish but it brought a smile that it worked much better than expected. Definitely will return read more

I had ordered the Utica role which was supposed to come with tempura shrimp, and there was no tempura shrimp, nor was there any ginger on the tray. The soy sauce was extremely watered down. We had to ask for our chili sauce twice. My friend ordered a sautéed vegetable dish, and the vegetables were extremely soft not tendercrisp like a typical stirfry. My Fiance' and I have walked by this place a bunch of times. the outside always looks cool, so we decided to try it. Now for anyone wondering, the way I grade a restaurant is...to get 5 stars you have to not only wow with the whole experience, but I have to have 0 complaints whatsoever. If anything, even something stupid and small is a complaint, you can't receive 5 stars, because that's perfect. You walk in and instantly feel the Asian vibe. And for an Asian fusion place, you have to cater to more than just Chinese food. Roka does a great job of that. Our waiter Thomas was a really nice guy, and funny, took great care of us , and even ran my phone out to me when I forgot it. We started with edamame, which had great spices on it, the dipping sauce was good, I just wish it would have come with a bit more for the price. We ordered 2 sushi rolls, the spicy tuna, and the ultimate, and 1 main plate, which was teriyaki veggies. We also got to taste their side dish of asparagus and mushrooms, and the green curry (catering to thia lovers here). Everything was delicious. The peanut sauce for the asparagus was amazing. The teriyaki sauce, and the diversity of veggies, mixed with brown rice was a great combo. 1 small complaint there is they need to have the automatic option to add some kind of protein without a special order. The curry was probably the best thing. Very complex flavors that all worked extremely well together. As for the complaints, the sushi, while good, was overpowered by the aioli. For a mayonnaise based sauce to be drenched all over BOTH sushi rolls is a crime. The 2 different rolls couldn't really be told apart, because it has the same flavor. While the flavor was still good, it's not the way you want sushi. Finally, the biggest issue I had, was the my freaking fortune cookie didn't have a fortune in it. That's blasphemy. I feel fortunate that I made it through the night last night without some terrible thing happening to me. Overall, this was definitely an above average restaurant. Asian fusion has never been strongest in the sushi department, so not the best ordering, but still nowhere near perfect. I would go back, but only 4 stars from me. read more

We arrived a bit before the rush. You know it's a good place when there is a Sunday evening rush. This was a celebratory dinner after my son's Vespar service.
