Rude, arrogant, poor customer service. Made appt to have above ground pool opened. I wasn't home when they arrived but they said that would be ok. They showed up but didn't open pool. Came home from work and saw it wasn't opened. Never heard from them and so I called the next day to see what was up. Was told by the rude and arrogant person who answered (possibly the owner not sure) they were gonna pass on opening it up because they couldn't access the pump easily enough and there were leaves on top of cover. Mind you I waited about 3 weeks for this appointment because they said they were busy. I normally open each year myself with no issues and yah I drain the water off the top which I had already done for them, and remove the leaves and hook things up without an issue. I am very disappointed in them. I bought the pool from them 5 years ago and had them install it with no issue a d they did a great job so I'm not sure what's going on with them but I would highly NOT recommend them. Watch out! I scheduled a pool heater installation. They delayed the installation for a day -- that was perfectly fine. But then the technician came, didn't say anything to us -- and just left without any communication!!! When I called back, they told me that there was "vegetation" so that's why they didn't install it (but we could have cleared anything there!) Also, "Sorry, our technician left for a month for Greece!" So no installation from them this summer, without any warning! Just stay away from these guys for any installation or more involved work! He provided information that my old pool guy could not about a Hayward Super Pump. Without asking, help was provided to get it to my car. Busy store due to great prices. I'm on the fence. I needed help a couple years ago, and I went there, and they were helpful. I forget the details of that. This year, I needed to replace the plumbing that goes from the input lines to the pump. I had the small piece of pipe in hand when I went to Rogers. I showed one guy the one part of it that I had to replace, and he recognized it, and started looking at couplings and unions, etc, to find the matching part. He was helpful and making the effort even though I didn't know exactly what I was asking for. Then the boss (presumably) walked in to see what was going on. He looked at the whole piece and said "we can't replicate that". I responded that I wasn't trying to replicate it, I just need the one part, and if you don't have it, that's fine. He said they didn't have it, so I left annoyed at him, not at the lack of the part. I realized that I should've thanked the first guy before I left. As I left, I realized due to the first guy's efforts, that I was looking for the wrong thing. I should've been looking for the whole piece, not just the 1/2 that was on the pipe. I went to home depot, and it turns out that it was just part of a standard PVC 1.5" union. I grabbed it off the shelf and was good to go. Total lack of effort. Admittedly, I didn't know what I was asking for, but I had the piece in hand that had to be replaced. And, it wasn't anything special, I now see... just a union. I probably will go again, if necessary, as a tie breaker. I thought it was nice to have a place like that nearby, but that was a poor experience that doesn't make me want to go back. But, I might have to, so it wasn't so bad to prevent me from going again. read more

Worst customer service!! My Father in Law visited Rogers Pool to ask for help or suggestions to repair a section of wall in his above ground pool due to ice damage. He was first asked where he bought the pool. Mannie told them he bought the pool from Namco in Salem NH but they went out of business. He was told "why didn't you buy it from us?" Without responding Mannie was told to go find someone else and that they couldn't be bothered. Mannie has purchased over $500 dollars in supplies from Rogers Pool, but never again. I'm writing this because Mannie speaks broken English due to his Portuguese decent. This place is a terrible place to conduct business at, I'm not surprised with all the negative reviews. read more

We started going to Rogers on Middle Street this pool season off of a recommendation from our good friends in Pelham. The service and testing at the store makes the application of the chemicals so easy. Because of this, we asked if they did home service. Yes!!! We had our antiquated valve replaced and had everything replumbed by Stan and Uncle Lou!! Outstanding!!! He's rude , short spoken , and temperamental . It's not like we get a pool once a week , he was awful explaining the process , couldn't narrow down a date or take us through what needed to be done . He talked down to us and honestly if he didn't have our deposit we would've walked . The Installers are absolute pricks , and try to get you to toss cash their way to get moved up on an Install list , until you hard ball them . HORRIBLE COMPANY TO DEAL WITH. I'll just preface this review by saying this project with Rogers Pool was a re-do since a different contractor we hired last year botched the vinyl liner job and we had to sue them. Rogers was the contractor we selected to re-do the project and we are beyond happy with the results. Thanks to them we now have a high quality liner, that's properly fitting and will last for years. Mike in the sales department was courteous and professional going over all our vinyl liner options with us and setting our expectations for how the project would go. He knew we had gone through a very rough experience with our previous contractor so it was like night and day having someone like Mike dedicated to our project and seeing it through to the end, assisting with any questions or issues along the way. Gary the owner at the store was very helpful when choosing our liner pattern. Dave the installer has to be one of the best in the local area to replace a vinyl liner. His expertise, knowledge, and attention to detail are exemplary. Dave put well over 2 full days into our project, vermiculiting the shallow end, troweling the deep end, repairing and prepping the pool side walls, and installing a new vinyl liner. The prep work is actually what takes the most amount of time. Dave and his two workers made sure every surface was smoothed and treated properly before moving on. Dave uses a two-step vacuuming process when installing the liner to ensure a proper tight fit and seal. Most companies will only use one vacuum. We are really impressed with Dave's dedication and craftsmanship with our pool. Thanks to him we won't need to worry about a new liner for years and years to come, let summer begin! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking to get a new liner installed or any other pool service. A word of advice on any project, but especially getting a new pool liner. Be sure you know the step by step process of what that contractor is going to do and then make sure they do it even if you have to take off a day of work to supervise. Don't hesitate to stop them in their work and ask questions even if they get annoyed. We did not do that with the first contractor last year. Although we had a general idea of how a liner is taken out and replaced, it really is much more involved than we thought. To be done properly that is. Just as a comparison the "Bad" contractor he had the old liner out and all his "prep" work done and a new liner going into the track within about 2.5 hours and the water truck showed up 30 minutes later and he used no vacuum. Our new contractor, Rogers Pool took nearly 2 full days for the same work. So you can clearly tell "Bad" contractor cut a lot of corners, did not care about a quality install and tried to get away with it by being deceitful. Thanks to the judicial system for seeing things in our favor we were able to re-coup all of our money back from the contractor to have the liner re-done. read more

The rudeness, lack of concern, unhelpfulness and down right degrading behavior shown by this company makes me wonder how they are still in business. I've always been a Fan of small local business. Rogers pool and Toy does a great job with our pool and they're always very helpful when I have questions about maintaining it. THIS YEAR I needed a little different kind of help. I called Rogers pool and Toys because the company I work for who donates to the boys and girls club need FIFTY board games last minute. I called Rogers and talked to the owner Gary and he said come on down. They had the 50 games I needed plus he even donated a box in toys himself! Got to love small businesses! read more

Extremely dissatisfied with the installation service. The first time we had the liner replaced, the installer cursed his employees, then cursed about me when he blew a fuse. I could hear everything through the open window. They left all the trash for me to clean up including their soda and water bottles. They also put the pool ladder handles back on backwards. While filling the pool we realize it leaks, so they need to replace. We had to call multiple times to get them to show up to replace. When they do, we remind them again the ladder is backwards. They put the liner in, leave without cutting the holes for the filter or fixing the ladder and tell us nothing, and once again leave the trash for us. After we get the water level to the filter I have to call twice more to figure out what's going on and remind them about the backwards ladder. Two days later they show to attach the filter and leave without fixing the ladder. No one at Rogers cares about how badly their contractors treat customers. I wouldn't buy anything or do business with these people ever again. I spent too much time chasing after them, and still need to spend more time fixing the ladder handles. read more

Only selecting one star bc I can't submit this review without selecting one. Don't be fooled by this company. The worst customer service I've ever had to deal with. Gary the owner is very short and expects you to know what you are doing when having a pool installed. We were very patient with them throughout the process even though we have many email exchanges where he would say they were coming to start the installation and no one would show up for weeks. They would start something then not come back and leave the process untouched for weeks until we would call or email them asking what is going on. Gary was quick to answer with an excuse and we've been more than gracious with understanding Covid happening and being understaffed. However he was quick to send bills for payment even though the job wasn't complete. Finally after they asked for us to remove the cover so that they can install the liner, we did, and yet no one showed up for weeks leaving the inside to fill with rain water and debris. Finally the liner is installed and it's horrible. Wrinkles everywhere. I asked about that which I was told that happens sometimes when you have large steps and a sun deck (which we were never told, to later find out through other pool companies that is bull) When I asked if it was damaging to the pool I was told just be careful around those areas. They tried to send people over to fix the wrinkles which they came to do with plungers and no luck. I think we may have more now. Also, lots of soft and hard spots throughout the whole pool. You can actually feel debris poking through the liner. Liner already had a tear 2 months into installation which after I called he sent someone to repair it without letting any of us know so we actually don't know what or how it was repaired. When I contacted Gary again he explained they normally don't let you know when they're coming to replace things and it was Brian his employee who is very helpful, by the way, however my camera did not show Brian there but 3 other employees leaving my yard early in the morning. When I asked again about the wrinkles I got no response. Also his electrician was unable to finish the job half way through so we had to hire a different one and pay him separately even though the cost of electrical was bundled in the price and yet he was still looking for payment. You would think as a owner of a company you would want to come take a look of the job his employees are doing, especially if a client is unsatisfied, but not once has he even tried to look and see the problems first hand. We will be filing a complaint with BBB as well as going further if no resolution is made with the liner problems. Never have we ever dealt with a company that just didn't care as long as they got paid. Luckily we have lots of email exchanges as well as pictures of the problems. read more

Great customer service at this really unique family-owned store in downtown Lowell. We went in to buy a pool liner, and they only had liners in the size we needed in a heavier gauge than what we wanted, which made it $100 more. For a split second the owner must have seen my slight distress and surprise at the increase and without hesitation he gave me the liner at a better price. You cannot top personal service like that. Wish I could give 0 stars. We hired them to open our pool this year. The person they sent out couldn't finish the job, since he was unfamiliar with our particular set-up. Refused to come back, or offer any response other than "I've never seen that before". The owner's suggestion is that I hire the people who did the open last year, and then "we can talk" about whether he'll refund any money. We purchased an inground pool 20 x 40 from Rogers Pool and paid him for installation this past summer. We saw him at the first home visit in which he sold us on the pool and his services, we never saw him again! He sub'd out the entire job which we didn't realize and when we ran into problems with the sub'd contractor out of Amesbury, MA he had no clue what was going on! This is a HUGE project for any family and to not have the guy you made this huge purchase with invested in the project - was INSANE to say the least. I would be happy to give any details you need on why you should NOT use Rogers. We had a friend buy after us and they used The Pool Doctor and they had their pool start to finish in a week ours took months and we still brought in another local company to finish the job. The prices quoted by Rogers are not for the full project be sure to spend a lot more to get the job actually done. Last, he tried to undersell us on the Salt system and the Vacuum system we wanted. We went with salt despite his recommendation and it has been AWESOME! I wish I didn't listen about having the underground vacuum as well but instead we are stuck with a polaris that keeps breaking. I'm told he didn't recommend the salt system because when they sell their chemicals at the shop they lose business. If you do get a pool lose Rogers # you'll be happy you did! There are many contractors out there that are 100% better. read more

We have used this company to open and close our pool for years. We use Glen who has done a wonderful job for us. Unfortunately the company sent out someone else who dumped all the leaves off the cover and into the pool. This person also did not set up the filter correctly and did not put in enough chemicals. The owner of the company did not rectify the mess that was made of our pool. Had I known there were more than one pool openers, I would have asked for Glen to save ourselves this headache. read more

I wish I could put 0 stars! My grandmother recently used them to open up her pool, and they were absolutely horrible! First of all, they were suppose to open it may 31st but didn't do it until June 10th. Also, she tried calling them multiple times, and when she finally was able to speak with someone, the lady was no help at all. All my grandmother wanted to know was when someone was coming to open her pool, and the lady said she'll text someone and never gave her an answer. Horrible customer service. Also, they ripped her pool cover and tried to blame it on her and my grandfather. This was a new pool cover, too. Now they are trying to charge her an extra $25 when she already paid in full. I am a very unhappy customer. We had a pool liner installed and the color of the stair padding was not what we ordered. The pool liner had ripples in it, we have contacted the owner several times even thru the Better business bureau his response was to repair it but we would have to sign off without a guarantee. Dealing with Roger's pool at first was a good experience they installed a safety pool cover without difficulty so I called early January to set up pool opening for week before Memorial Day. I called a couple weeks before opening and guy on phone sounded very annoyed and did not have record of my booking. I told them I was first time owner of pool and they said the guys would be helpful when they came to open pool. Two guys came late in day told me basically pool would never be ready for Memorial Day and I would need new pipes for sand filter. They explained nothing to me. I basically gave them 260 dollars to take pool cover off pool and throw a ton of chemicals in pool. They didn't even put stairs in. I was so upset when they left my friend came over and got my filter working back washed the filter and told me proper chemicals to buy at ocean state job lot that were cheaper and worked. 4 days my pool was clear and ready. I called Rogers pool to put stairs in because the pool was ready and they didn't know when someone could come out. I put them in my self. I would not recommend them to anyone. Lesson learned if you want advice how to run a pool ask a friend who has a pool not a company who is just trying to take your money. read more

My experience with Roger's pool, was excellent. I live about 2 blocks away from their store and my condo roof sprung a leak. Water was pouring in like a waterfall. I ran over, asked them if they had a kiddie pool, a water pump and a hose. in 2 minutes they checked me out with the pool and the pump. They had no hoses for sale, but one of their employees went to his truck and loaned me a 50' hose. He also went out of his way to install the hose adapter on the pump. It was hours until a plumber and roofer came, so their setup saved hundreds of gallons of water from flooding the building. These guys were lifesavers. I hired them to close my pool what a mess they left me!!! All they had to do was inflate the bubble and put on the winter cover which they did but here comes the other side of it, they drained most of the water they ripped my cover they said they didn't drain the water but when my wife was leaving they had to move the hose so she could get into her car then I called and talked to Donna who lied to me and told me someone would be by to look they never came then when I called back she had to collect her thoughts??? Then I spoke to Mr Rogers who sent two guys up only to tell me I bought there cheapest cover which was crap because that is what we sell that's what the guy told me then asked me where all the water was told me he didn't do it but when my wife came out he was one of the guys who closed it so he lied to me again Rogers said they would call my wife back well guess what he didn't they must be collecting there thoughts if you can avoid this place for pool equipment maybe they sell toys better than pool stuff !!!! if I could the one star would be zero! I called Rogers Pool after receiving a coupon in the mail for "pool school." I told Gary (the owner) that I had recently bought a house with an inground pool, knew nothing about the pool, and needed to learn. He assured me that he and his team would come out and help. On the day of the appointment I was at the house at the scheduled time. No one from Rogers was there. I called 30 minutes later and was told by Gary (once someone answered the phone) that he couldn't help me. When I shared that it was poor service that noone showed up at the agreed upon time and that no one called me directly to tell me this information. I then asked Gary for a referral to a place that could help me. He said that he could not help with that either. He was rude, unhelpful, uncommunicative, and uncaring. I will take my business elsewhere. This place obviously doesn't understand customer service in a local community. I didn't expect Gary to fix my problem, but I do expect him to be timely, professional and kind. read more
