We ordered our pool in May, and Gibraltar got it by the end of June. I have to admit that ingot a little antsy at the time, but in retrospect, they really did all they could do to get my pool in. The customer service was better than professional, it was personal and I feel like they went out of their way to develop a good relationship with us. I know it couldn't have been easy in the year of Covid, with insanely increased demand, but I was very happy with how it all worked out. The installation quite honestly stunned me. I have a pretty sloped yard, but the crew got in and banged the whole thing out in one day. They were courteous and helpful and left me feeling good about running this thing. As for the pool itself, it's only been a season, so I couldn't speak to the long term, but it's a beautiful looking pool, fits right in with the yard, and my kids love the wraparound deck. I'm very happy I went with Gibraltar instead of buying some kit from somewhere, trying to get someone to excavate, build a deck, and put in a fence. I called to make an appointment for a new pool, I made it very clear to the woman booking the appointment my husband would not be here. (I barely have time to stop and meet with people) After looking at my yard I was told by the salesman he cannot do a presentation without my husband here, he went on to say, " I can't do his job like he can" and that "marriages fail when one person buys something without the other". That is just a few things that was based on their 1940's sales approach. 2020 is the year of unexpected oddities. With COVID-19, it seems everyone has decided to cancel their vacations, invest in a home pool and stay local. Timing was not on our side, but I've always wanted a pool. I didn't want anything too permanent like an in-ground pool, but I wanted something with the same qualities and curb appeal. We decided to go with Gibraltar as they offered an on-ground pool of multiple sizes and an attached deck and catwalk. Their warranty is phenomenal as well. We ordered our pool around Memorial Day and finally had the crew out to install it on July 22, 2020. Due to the influx of demand, the installation team was overwhelmed with demand. Although it would have been fantastic to have our pool installed before July, there was no way to predict the volume of households like our own who would be purchasing pools this summer. At times it was difficult to get ahold of Peter in the office to confirm our install date, but again this is 2020 and EVERYONE wants a home pool so I understand. Thankfully, Peter always returned my messages, even after the store was closed. He was apologetic and always happy to answer my questions. We look forward to enjoying many summer days and years to come in our Gibraltar pool. read more

It is without a doubt the most professional company when it comes to customer service. Our initial meeting happened during a snow day with bad driving conditions. Yet, Gibraltar still showed up on time even when we offered to reschedule. Our experiences with other pool companies in the past were a disappointment. They would show up, spray paint my grass and leave. Too many times we were ignored after we took the initiative to email or call to leave messages. It felt as if no pool companies took us seriously. Gibraltar on the other hand had pamphlets, photos and samples of the actual pool materials that are used for the construction. We got a quote on the spot and received the salesman's phone number and email. We finally got the helping hand needed to build our pool! Their commitment and services made the experience of buying a pool satisfying. We had to push back the scheduled date for assembly because of paperwork. But the company was at my house the very next day we were approved by our town for building. Assembling of the pool only took one day. We got our first Gibraltar pool over 20 years ago and this year decided to upgrade to the larger 16x28 deep end size. From start to finish we had a very positive experience. Peter (the owner) made himself available to us throughout the entire process. Texts, phone calls and or emails were answered in a very timely fashion, which, in and of itself is impressive and almost unheard of these days. Were there a couple of delays,sure, but last I checked Gibraltar Pools doesn't control the weather! The installation crew was great. On time, respectful and extremely tidy; all cardboard was neatly place in one spot, making our cleanup a breeze. We know from past experience that these pools are built like tanks, and they are even stronger now. This pool is absolutely beautiful and are looking forward to many years of enjoyment. I would have preferred to just write the original review, and let it go at that, but the response to the review is so full of untruths, I feel the need to respond. The public should know what this company is. First and foremost, whoever wrote the rebuttal, missed the entire point. I was mostly concerned, not that they didn't show up, but they never called, THEY DID NOT CALL AND TELL ME THEY WERE NOT COMEING BOTH SCHEDULED DAYS... Now I will address the lies. #1 Three of them tried to explain to me they did not know they had to postpone. Ridiculous, I only talked to one person about them not showing up and that was Peter. In my conversation with Peter, I told him I completely understood the no show but i did not believe they didn't know and so they didn't call. If they were so behind, how could they not know the evening before. They knew at 10 AM when we called them. #2 I demanded that they open the pool for free. That was NEVER said. I only asked Peter for compensation for them not showing nor calling. #3 Became aggressive with one of the ladies. I NEVER talked with any one but Peter. #4 They did not offer to put the pool in early because i am a veteran. all Peter cared about was the sale. Nothing like that was ever mentioned. #5 They didn't know there was ill will till this review because there was none prior to the two no shows. #6 The two service calls they refer to were #1 .to reinstall the stairs that were installed so badly that the town failed the final inspection, which, they took so long to address; I can't even remember. #2 was to open the pool. They are correct in the fact that I praised both those visits because they were done by a professional craftsman that knew what he was doing and a gentleman to boot. Too bad there is only one of him in that company #7 Dont care what their notes say. In NO WAY DID THEY MAKE TWO CALLS to make sure we were happy. Peter called to make arrangements to come and get his money and that's all. , With all of this said, i believe that both sides know there will be no futher business dealings between us. I was able to open my own pool with out issue/ Took only 1.5 hours. I also would invite Peter to call or even visit to have a discussion to clear the air and walk away on good terms. We had our pool installed in July and could not be happier with the professional and courteous people we have worked with throughout the process. From Peter, to sales, to installation, to office staff everyone we spoke with or emailed was spectacular. We were treated well, and like one of the family, from start to finish. Best investment we ever made! Initially met with Peter in May 2020; there was no pressure to purchase immediately and he was very informative of the entire process. I called back a few days later and asked if we could have the pool installed by July 2nd and he assured me that would not be an issue, even with all the new purchases due to Covid-19 creating a backlog on ordering/installing above ground pools, so we signed the paperwork. The customer service has been exceptional from all employees (Owner, installers, technicians, and salespersons) I've had interaction with via phone or in-person. I'm not the easiest person to deal with when making a big purchase; if I had any concerns/questions I received a phone call within 24 hours, usually less. I had to make calls due to my lack of knowledge regarding how pools operate and customer service was GREAT! We have started our 2nd season with the Gibraltor and it's been nothing but smooth sailing. Per the response left from Gibraltar Pools, anyone that spends $15,000 on a pool shouldn't have to worry about the parts not being available or becoming obsolete. This was never mentioned upon purchasing so I don't appreciate the false information Gibraltar provided saying I didn't accept. Sadly, I didn't find out the parts were no longer available until I needed them. And this person that supposedly drove from VT to CT never even came to my house to check out the pool. He called me while he was driving to say he was not going to be able to provide me with any kind of discount towards the purchase of a new pool. This made no sense why he would change his mind now being the day he was supposed to come. Why would they tell a customer that and not honor it makes no sense. I am also truly appalled by Gibraltar's comment as I totally understood the part was no longer available, that was common knowledge. The frustration was them promising/offering to help me out in the purchase of a new pool by providing a small discount towards it. This being said, the response makes no sense and is not truthful and not what was communicated. We were very excited thinking we were going to be getting a new pool. It was very unprofessional and disappointing for them to say one thing, then change their mind when they were about to arrive, referring to offering a discount then saying it is no longer doable. My brother in law and a friend were both in the same predicament that I was with their Gibraltar pool. They were even more upset more like in disbelief... it's not acceptable. So in other words the parts you need for your pool you can't get and the only option they offer you is buying a new pool for $20,000. So just for closure, who would spend this kind of money on a pool and not be able to replace parts. Despite how many years later it shouldn't matter not after spending that much. If we had known this, we would of gotten an in ground pool but unfortunately, we had no knowledge and this is why I'm sharing it with others so they are aware and don't waste their money. Personally, I think Gibraltar should of accepted responsibility, and offered some kind of discount towards the purchase of a replacement since they had no parts for me to be able to buy, it's the least they could of done which again they did offer but then changed their mind after. In the interim I have this broken pool displayed in my back yard which couldn't look any worse. In addition the entire deck rotted away, which is part of the Gibraltar pool. We were so disappointed that we couldn't have an in-ground pool due to our septic system and wetlands. We explored Gibraltar pools, and I had no idea above ground pools could be so fabulous. With a 7 foot deep end, huge pool, and patio that was built up to the pool decking, it looks fabulous and has been a blast. My kids have lived in the pool all summer, and we're so glad we went forward with this. I wish there was better collaboration with our landscaper, electrician, etc., but the Gibraltar team was great (especially on the final installation day), and our pool is beautiful. Great family owned company! We just had a pool installed and the process couldn't have gone smoother. Peter the owner has been great to work with. He answered all our questions and concerns and always returned our phone calls. We were told our pool would be installed before my daughters birthday (weather and permit permitting) and it was installed as promised. The installation was much quicker than I expected. It took the installers about 8 hours. After the installation we had a few questions and Jay the project manager called us back within 20 minutes. Over a month delay in installation despite repeated promises throughout that it would be the "next " week. And then the next. Etc. The owner personally called me to guarantee the delivery date and when that passed he had his intern call to deliver the bad news. The installers left the pool with several fittings leaking - installed the pool base 4 inches from an underground 1000 gallon propane tank and put the stairs right on top of the tank. They were unaware that you couldn't put the pool heater right next to the propane tank. Long story short and thousands of $$ later the pool had to be drained and tank moved to eliminate the extreme hazard of the pool proximity to the propane tank. read more

Things you need to know before doing business with Gibraltar: 1) pool was scheduled to be installed on 7/1/2021- called on 6/30/2021 because I had not heard anything and pool was delivered the week before. Was told they were running behind due to hot weather. 2) received a phone call on 7/1/2021 - pool installer- installation prior to mine the home owner did not have permit- wanted to come over now and start install. If not today see you in two weeks! Scrambled last minute to get time off from work because you have to be there! 3) Started to rain around 3:00 packed up and left was coming back to finish the next day. So took off the next day also.... 4) Got a text on Friday, too much rain see you Tuesday (holiday weekend) 5) showed up around 1:30 finished install- got pool filling- walked through start up process and left. 6) pool full this morning - was told by sales rep. all you need is a regular GFI plug! NOT THE CASE- you need a twist lock adapter! Now I have a full pool- have not heard from my electrician- in his defense this was all done without any real notice. 7) Now I have a full pool and no way to run the filter!!! This is a $28K pool- communication skills for this company are horrible! By the way the gigantic boxes and wrapping the pool gets delivered in? YOURS to get rid of! Have you ever had work done in or around your home where the contractor did not remove the debris? The sales rep. stated that putting in a pool should not be a stressful event, but this install has been nothing but stressful. They guessed at the clearance for my town to submit the plan for my permit and they were wrong to it had to be redone. I would do a lot more research before doing business with Gibraltar Pools, they are supposed to be the experts, but leave you in the dark and scrambling to get things done at the last minute due to poor communication skills. read more

I understand wet weather etc., and it finally got done after purchasing the pool mid summer of the previous year. Now the liner is ripped due to faulty closing up of the pool by your company last fall according to Tony who came out to check a month ago. (btw-he's excellent)So we've started the whole calling, leaving messages, getting no response vicious cycle that we've come to know with Gibraltar. I understand the weather needs to be a specific temperature to install liners- I guess that could be. Where Gibraltar continues to fall down is the lack of communication- no one likes to give or get bad news but at least it's communication of some sort. By not responding at all to inquiries, it just builds up frustration from the customer's perspective. I want to give you a good review but it really is frustrating after spending $30k on a pool and watching the nice days start to go by wondering..hoping we'll get the call that he's coming to fix it. If I could go back in time, I would have NEVER, NEVER bought anything from them. Right now, my pool opening which was scheduled months ago, is being pushed out to a date "to be determined". Mind you, we called the first date they were taking appointments. And that was months ago. Now, here we are, the morning of the appt and after calling 5 times, the answer I finally received was that they couldn't make it and that's all the information they have. I have been a Gibraltar pool owner for over 15 years. A few summers ago we had to patch a few holes in our liner. It still held the water fine, but last summer we decided that we would spend the money to have the liner replaced for the 2020 season. So we called in October and they told us to get on a list by January so we'd be sure to be at the beginning of "the line" to get our liner replaced, so that's what we did. We were told we were 2nd on this list. Fast forward to March 2020. We call to check in and they schedule us for end of April. Tony, who we love, was scheduled to come out and do the work on April 23rd I believe. We were instructed to drain our pool to prepare for Tony's visit. The day before our scheduled time, someone called from the office to say they couldn't replace the liner due to cold weather. Okay, I understood that. They said they would call back with a new date. Not only did they not call back, but I had to call them continuously over the next 3 weeks with the same response that someone would be calling me back to reschedule. So yesterday I called to speak to a manager/owner and was told "in a meeting", but they would have John call me in a few hours to schedule the work. Guess what? No call. There have been a succession of warm days so you would think I would have had the work done by now since I was supposed to have the work done a month ago. It costs about $500 to fill my pool, so if they are not going to come out asap to replace my liner, Gibraltar should reimburse us the money to fill the pool back up. The hot tub was delivered within 1 day of when the concrete pad and electric were ready. During the installation and hookup, they were immediately available to our electrician, who had a few questions. The delivery was smooth, and very professional. My above ground pool collapsed after 35 years and I wanted another pool that would certainly outlive me. I purchased a Gibraltar pool at the end of the Summer (2017) and it was the best decision I could have made. Now after 2 summers the pool I found that it is basically maintenance free and everyone enjoys it, especially after the hot and humid summer we just had. When my next door neighbor saw my new pool she immediately installed an identical one. I realize the pool and cover cost more than I really could afford to spend for a pool but I do not regret my decision. It is perfect and a good alternative to an inground pool. read more

I don't know how this company stays in business. We put a deposit down on a pool last August. They told us we would be the fourth pool put in spring 2019. It is now the end of May, the pool was delivered and paid for but never installed. And we can't even get a call back. Every time we call, they will get "right back to us". Communication is key in life, no matter the scenario if one communicates and receives appropriate communication in return bad reviews don't happen. Peter, the owner fails to communicate PERIOD. Sales rep will sell you the moon and provide detailed timelines and you'll let them leave with your NON REFUNDABLE deposit in hand for you to then, call, email & text requesting updates to be told, lie after lie after lie regarding timeline. We paid our deposit, completed our permit process within 1 week. We were advised install would be 3 weeks later -- we waited from May till late July. NOW folks, COVID has disrupted EVERYONE -- but the sales rep in May (months after COVID) told his our timeline and in fact was so amendment that they would adhere to said timeline without an issue so that is not an excuse on this one. I would FINALLY get returned calls after 9PM even when I told them I had small kids and to not call after 8PM -- Materials were delivered to my house and sat on my front lawn from June 22 till third week in July even though they told me delivery = install within days. Yet another lie. When I called them out on all of the ridiculousness he offered to pay for my water --- very specific in stating we needed a receipt to reduce final payment. Folks I mailed my check & receipt and EMAILED confirmation on why I reduced my final payment and this jerk just had a nerve to call me and complain that my cost of water delivery was too high & he would call the water company to ask why. I hung up on him in complete transparency -- folks these pools may be rated the best out there for a permanent above ground style but this company, is AWFUL. I wouldn't recommend them to ANYONE. To close -- if anytime during this experience this guy was just HONEST, I wouldn't be writing this review -- I'd take it on the chin and move on. Covid did impact EVERYONE in various ways -- he's get a major pass if he just said ETA for install is July but instead every response was a bold face lie. I bought a Gibraltar pool several years ago and located it in Wellfleet, Ma, down near the end of the Cape. At the time we were assured that if we had any issues, that Gibraltar would stand by their pool and come make any repairs. Well, I just got a call that our pool was too far away and that I should find a local pool company for service. Not what I was told when I bought it. So buyer beware, they have no problem selling you a pool but servicing it, that's a different story. read more
