This Salem NH store is horrible. The cashiers are careless and neglect to remove all antitheft…read moredevices on their clothing items and you end up with a clothing item at home with an anti theft device because evidently not all of them beep when you are walking out of the door. This is what happened to me after I bought a comforter set among other many items. I kept the comforter set unopened at home for some time and when I finally went to use it, I realized it had an anti theft device still attached to it which I could not remove unless I cut a hole into the comforter. I also realized I had lost the receipt after turning my house upside down looking for it. When I took the item back to the store so the cashiers could remove the device, they called over a snooty manager who said she could not remove the device unless I had the receipt. I told her I had lost it but asked her if scanning the bar code would show I had bought the set from the store. Kohl's sometimes does this and removes the device if it was accidentally left on a clothing item. I also told her I could pull up my debit card online bank records to prove I had purchased the comforter set among other things at that store. The snooty manager said there was nothing she could without the receipt and looked at me like I had stolen a $45 comforter set from their store. She even had the audacity to ask me how I had waled out of the store without the anti theft device going off, which means she does not even know that if a clothing item has more than one anti theft device, they don't all beep if some are left on accidentally. I could not understand how they had the nerve to make me pay for a mistake that was caused by their cashiers' recklessness. Most of the time those cashiers are usually distracted and chatting with each other about personal stuff when ringing up your items. I had to go home and cut a hole in the comforter set because there was no way I could remove that device. I will never shop here again and I bet that manager even stereotyped me because I am a black woman. She needs some schooling on professionalism because what she may not have known is that I have a very good job and earn a six figure salary and own 2 luxury vehicles among other great things going on for me. Not everybody is a thief and it is just horrible how they treat customers. I hope the store closes down because of their nasty attitude.
