Backyard Boulders gave us a full redo estimate with crack repair. We chose them after checking out 2 jobs they were doing close by. We worked with Greg and his lead Mike. They did a great job. Very professional and eager to share what they were doing. Their crew is very professional, neat workers and conscientious. They did such a great job on the cool deck, we had them back to repair the rest of our backyard patio and extend the cool deck. Backyard Boulders has an artisanal approach to their work. I highly recommend Backyard Boulders for any patio or concrete finishing needs.

It also had an outline when I wanted a free form looking pool. I obtained a zillion estimates and asked even more questions prior and during the work. I will update this review but my deck currently looks fabulous! One more thing, If you are going with a firm for a total remodel that subs out deck work...ask them about BB.... The same day SoAZ Pools (Steve and Itzel) coordinated with Modern Method Gunite (MMG) headquarters in Houston TX to have a qualified rep sent out from the local Tucson MMG office to assist. The next day MMG rep (Elias) arrived early, immediately inspected our pool and promptly completed on-site repairs of several minor imperfections in Vail, AZ. We greatly appreciate both companies taking time during this busy swimming season to accommodate our request. Their track record speaks for itself. Steve and SoAZ Pools have always been outstanding facilitating success for our pool issues--his project manager skills and experience continue to be unequaled. Again, thanks to both SoAZ Pools and MMG companies for the superb responsiveness and results!

Absolutely disgusting experience with Ashlynd at Pools By Design AZ…read more I had to delay my pool project and financing for a year because I was battling cancer. Instead of showing an ounce of compassion, decency, or professionalism, Ashlynd chose to be rude, condescending, and outright demeaning. She talked down to me, belittled me over the communication gap, and made it very clear she wanted me to feel small over my financial timing. Let that sink in: I was considering paying this company $80,000, and this is how I was treated. It was arrogant, cruel, and completely unacceptable. No customer should ever be chastised or made to feel "less than," especially while dealing with a life-altering medical crisis. That interaction told me everything I needed to know about this company. I took my business elsewhere, and I strongly recommend others do the same. If this is how Pools By Design AZ treats people before they even get your money, I can only imagine how bad things get after.

It took somewhere around 1.5 years from start to finish to get this project done. Likely not their norm and just another reminenet of the pandemic. Communication was spotty and a source of frustration through the process. We ran into issues with our tile order and pricing on their end that eventually got resolved, but it was not a small error. Cimarron contracts everything out from the digging to tiling, plastering, etc. It's a very frustrating process and leaves the customer vulnerable to a lot of mistakes and poor quality control. Once the pool was filled we encountered more problems with their install of the filters. I think three starts is being really fair. It felt more like a two but they came through and addressed every single issue we encountered.

The quote was on par with other companies, and our pool guy had recommended PPP so it seemed like a no brainer. It took a really long time for the work to be completed, and there were nonstop additional costs all along the way. The gentleman who did the quote botched it, and at one point we had 4 gentlemen from PPP come out (including the gentleman who gave the quote) to our house to discuss all of the additional costs. They bickered amongst themselves and told the gentleman who gave the quote that he did a poor job, and then they walked him around the yard to give him pointers of where he should be looking for future quotes. It was awkward and unprofessional, and in the end we agreed to split the cost. After that, communications became extremely curt, all of the work seemed to be done much more sloppily, and we are still waiting for them to come back to fix the ladder that they installed incorrectly.
