Cody was very helpful in picking out the material for a new bathroom vanity top and backsplash - a beautiful dolomite stone - as well as a new sink. They don't require that you buy a huge slab; no job is too small, as they have a sizable remnant stock on site. The servicemen who removed the old top and sink and installed the new top and sink were friendly and efficient. All I had to do was buy a new faucet for them to install. The new vanity is beautiful. I finally got tired of our old concrete counter-top, which was actually concrete smeared on a wooden form, not a concrete block. I had that counter-top refinished in the past, because it deteriorated so easily. Then one night I left a small yoga ball on it and when I lifted up the ball, it had peeled up the colorant and finish. That was it. Time for a new counter-top. I checked out a few places, but Granite Planet was the contractor willing and able to remove the old concrete counter. This had to be done with care, since I have a slate tile wall for the back-splash. I chose some beautiful granite slabs they had in their yard--"red dragon". There were numerous details to consider, but to make a long story short, they were professional, paid attention to details, were fair in their pricing, and nice people to work with. They even hooked up my new sink and plumbing. I like that they are a close-knit, family owned business--friendly, competent, and with many years of experience. Before, when I'd come home and saw the old concrete counter-top, I would frown. Now when I come home and see the new granite counter-top, I smile. It looks amazing! read more

I wanted soapstone for my kitchen countertops, and it's pretty hard to find. Kelly suggested that I visit a huge showroom in Phoenix, which I did, and there I selected my soapstone slab. Jeremy and Steven came to my house soon after, to build a template for the counters, and they cut everything and installed it beautifully (with Jonathan). I'm thrilled with how well it turned out. We listened to the raves about Granite Planet on KNST radio. When we bought our home we went to Granite Planet and talked to Jeremy. He showed us material on the computer and my wife said she wanted to see some examples in person. He directed us to Granite world and then when my wife found the type of countertop she wanted, we called Jeremy and scheduled for him to come and measure for an estimate. When he came to the house, he measured the current counter and suggested removing the pony bar (breakfast counter). He explained it would cost extra, but it would open up the room. In his estimate, we thought we were getting old countertops and sink removed and new countertops and our new sink installed. We were never told that it was going to cost extra to re-connect the plumbing. We were given an estimate of $5650 for the kitchen. We were also given an estimate of $2900 for the master vanity and $1300 for the guest vanity. I gave them a down payment to start the work. When I gave them the down payment, Jeremy gave me a receipt, but it also turned out to be the contract. He never explained that we would have to pay to have the plumbing re-connected. They scheduled a date for the removal and doing a template. When they removed the countertops and the pony bar, they removed a section of drywall that the pony bar was attached to at the wall. Later, I asked Kelli why the cost of the master vanity was so expensive and she told me it included $600 for reconnecting the two sinks. Anyway, our installation day came and when the dad, his son-in-law and the other guy showed up, they started to install the large portion of the countertop and realized that it was not going to fit. They mentioned that they had to cut into the drywall on the wall to get portions of the countertop to fit. I asked about the plumbing and was told it would cost $350 to reconnect it. The dad also commented, I hope you have a good drywaller. After they installed the countertops, they left. I went to view their work and noticed that countertop was not connected to the cabinet on the living room side because of the cutting of the pony bar. Also, near the edge of the counter by the dishwasher, there was a gap of approximately 3/4 of an inch between the top and the counter. Along the wall, I noticed large gaps between the counter and the wall, and where the seam was the granite was chipped near the wall. I contacted Kelli and told her that I was upset, but that when my wife gets home, she is going to be pissed. I sent Kelli several pictures and she said that she would send her dad back down to fix it. She also told me that a backsplash would cover any gaps between the countertop and the wall. The dad came back down and admitted the top was not put on correctly and was not level. He patched the area between the pony bar and the countertop and leveled the top. He did not replace the large piece of drywall that had been removed when they cut out the pony wall. Well, last week we finally got out backsplash in and guess what, there were still gaps between some areas of the countertop and the wall (and we installed a thick backsplash. I was holding off on writing this review, but yesterday when I removed tape from the countertop after my wife had painted the dry wall work on the wall were the pony bar had been removed, I noticed a decent size chip in our very expensive countertop. The chip was approximately 1/2 inch by 3/8 inch and it was on the bottom of the rolled portion of the top against the wall. They knew it was there when they installed it, and did the dry wall work, but said nothing. I thought our top was a thing of beauty, but knowing the chip is there, I am not proud of the top. Jeremy, who was my initial contact in their beautiful showroom, helped me make a great choice in quartz for my kitchen countertop and even showed up the day they were being installed to lend a hand. Kelly and Micky, kept me informed about appointments and cost and always responded to my emails and calls quickly. When it came to the guys who installed my countertops and sink and the tile backsplash, no one other than my own family could have put as much care in to the job as Mike (the dad and owner of the company) and his very polite and capable helpers Chad and Bruce. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. We recently had an expensive quartz counter top installed. It was measured incorrectly, and now the flat top stove is sticking about an inch above the countertop. It is a huge eyesore on a close to $10 grand job and noticeable immediately. Everyone chuckles when they enter the kitchen and asks 'What happened there?' IT IS LIKE AN AMATEUR YOUTUBER INSTALLED OUR EXPENSIVE KITCHEN COUNTERTOP. They have said our previous countertops were not standard...well great, that is their job, as professionals, we pay you to measure and figure out and produce an end results that doesn't look like this picture. Regardless of how 'unstandard' our old countertops were: NO ONE in their right mind would want a finish product like we got. There is (present tense) also a problem with our faucet having to do with their installation that they have promised to fix, and we have not yet heard from them about it. My advice: PLEASE look elsewhere for a better company that will get a job done right, or a company that will work with you til the end to fix that job if they mad a mistake. A week or so ago, now 2014, we discovered one of our under-counter sinks was coming loose. When I called them to help fix the problem they were incredibly polite and professional. I was happy to pay them for the work, but get this: They came out and re-installed an under-counter sink 100% FREE. That's right - 10 YEARS after installation! We were in the process of completing a remodel of our master bathroom and wanted to replace the vanity with a granite counter top that matched our kitchen granite. I talked with Jeremy, the son who now runs most of the business and received a bid that I thought was fair. His father, Mike, came out to take measurements. After spending almost an hour "talking about other things off topic" he finally took about two minutes to measure our counter top. I asked him specifically to go out to our garage and look at the new above counter vessel sinks that I wanted to have installed. I don't think he really even looked at them. When they came out to install, they broke off about an inch on the corner of the granite. They assured me they could fix it so that you would not see it. However, the ultimate problem was that the back splash was cut too short (4 inches instead of at least 5 or 6) It did not cover the drywall and it looked terrible. I called Jeremy and sent him pictures and did not hear back from him until I left multiple messages. He acted like it was my fault and said when we did our contract he said the standard size was four inches and I agreed to that-I had to really be determined and told him that this was NOT acceptable and his father and he are the experts and SHOULD have measured properly. He finally reluctantly said to come down and see if we had any more of that type of granite!! Eventually, the job was finished, however the new back splash was still not installed very well-it is separating from the wall and the corners are not matched well. I can see the repair on the piece that they broke off while installing. After everything they still made me pay extra for their mistake! Jeremy was very pleasant when he gets you to sign a contract, but if something goes wrong-BEWARE! I had no problem with his sister-she was professional throughout the process. read more

Service in the yard wasn't that good. Them getting back to me was pretty bad. The contract was misleading. I chose granite at another yard for $200 less but cancelled after I saw them cutting other granite with a grinder & pouring water on it from a water bottle. I ended up at granite planet.... a lot of waiting around. I was told they make a template so it would fit like a glove. I made a 75% down payment & got a contract that had stipulated that it included in the price a template. Well the older guy never made a template just took measurements with a standard tape measure. I explained that the 3 walls it fit in are not exactly square. He seemed to not worry. When instillation came the installers knew right away it was too small & cut wrong. I told him that I paid for a template to be done so it would be right & he said no these are all perfect straight cuts. !!! Now the granite I was told "would fit like a glove " has really big gaps on both sides. The installers were great & did what they could but it was clearly cut incorrectly. Buyer Beware. I should of went with the other Co & saved $200 on a 60 inch piece. They won't be touching my kitchen that's for sure. read more
